  1. ESSON DUFF TOKELY MUNRO SHINNIE DUNCAN COX ROSS SANCHEZ SUTHERLAND* ROONEY * If Hayes fit then Ross to switch to the left and Hayes on the right with Sanchez through the middle
  2. only one i'd remove from that list would be Fox, always thought he was a decent enough player. Not outstanding but decent very very harsh to suggest Blumenshtein given that he hasnt even played a full 90 minutes for the club
  3. Glad to be through, it was painful viewing at times plus points - stopping the losing run rooney back in the goals sanchez' great finish shinnie overlapping very well on the wing sutherland looking dangerous when he came on minus points - profligacy in front of the goal scrappy passing hoofball too often duffs corners odhiambo had the close control of an elephant today
  4. Anyone know what the minute silence was for?
  5. I think a lot of our problems at home arise from the fact that we do not adapt our formation to suit playing at home. The 4-2-3-1 which he has stuck with has been a revelation away because it is suited perfectly to playing counter attacking football. We have done it to teams for over a year and now teams are doing it to us on our own patch Simply put, we should not be playing counter attacking football at home. Away from home we are happy for the opposition to have the ball at the back and then break up play and counter. This will not work at home and quite evidently is not working. We gave Killie too much time on the ball and they passed in simple triangles to feet and could retain possession comfortably. Killie or any away team for that matter should not have seen as much of the ball as was allowed tonight. IMO the 4-2-3-1 system is ideal on the road but we need to alter it at home so that the opposition see as little of the ball as possible.

  20. The Inverness Courier is reporting today that Nick Ross is expected to sign an extended contract later on this week. Delighted to hear this as Nick has been a revelation this season, he has improved so much since the start of the season and as i read somewhere at the weekend he is deservedly one of the first name names on the teamsheet. It also mentions that a new deal has been offered to Shinnie and Butcher is "certainly optimistic on that front" Link to follow once the Courier updates its website
  21. totally agree with just about everything you say. it's absolutely none of my business what your faith is and it has bu**er all to do with football. however, tom english wrote a very interesting article in scotland on sunday suggesting that, certain of the cellik-minded fraternity, had used the pope as "a pawn" in the pursuit of their paranoid agenda. i'm just glad we don't see too much of this crap up here. now i might take a few pelters for this, but, i'm pretty surprised that the church felt they had to intervene. i think a dignified silence would have been more appropriate. after all, it is only football!!! You mean this one? I agree, so often with the Old Firm, real issues are dissolved by pure and utter one-up-manship and it bypasses the important points. Unfortunately a lot of the time the media blow the situation up and as soon as they do this it opens up the topic for people to stir up even more tension.
