There was an announcer tonight ? :D I couldn't hear a thing !!

ICT -V- QOS : matchnight thread
Great result but I feared we'd pressed the self-destruct button again after needlessly conceding a penalty with the queen's player running away from goal! Thankfully Rooney scored the decisive third from the penalty spot after Foran was hauled back inside the box when about to score from 6 yards (why the defender wasn't shown a red is beyond me.....but that was par for the course with the ref's performance the night!) Some anxious moments in the first half though with Proc squaring the ball across the back four several times giving the ball away, but he's forgiven seeing as we won! Now looking forward to Saturday. Please don't slip up against Morton :D if we can get to just 3 points behind Dundee they might just start to feel the pressure?

New Scotland strip
It looks a cheap and nasty imitation of a Scotland shirt! I wonder will Boyd now withdraw from the squad, stating that whilst he wants to play for his country he just can't put up with wearing a shirt like that? :thumb02:

Butcher and Malpas
That is good news. Let's just hope he can retain the squad for next season.

Sanchez
Undecided. Without doubt lacks confidence in front of goal and looks for the pass rather than shoot. We can see he has technical ability but sometimes appears lightweight for scottish 1st division football?

Kilmarnock -V- ICT : matchday thread
Seems only yesterday but it's 25 years since Jags beat Killie 3-0 at Kingsmills !! Those were the days.

Imrie
A five figure sum eh !........I wonder did the club request that, to save on bank charges, Accies just make the cheque payable to Marius Niculae ?

Tokely's 500th Appearance
I see Norman getting booked in the 1st minute.......then going on to score a hat-trick, and then receiving a second yellow for taking his no9 shirt off whilst celebrating !!

ICT -V- Dundee : matchday thread
Whilst it was a decent enough game to watch (second half anyway) I can't help feeling it was a missed opportunity. How many chances do we need to score a goal?

last game of the season
Just so long as we're no 2-0 up at half time eh? :(

Merged: Terry Butcher - TV Caption
I loved that tie he was wearing last night ! B)

Dundee -V- ICT : cup final thread
The game should've been all over by half time. Then came the inevitable collapse. Imrie's red was probably correct but why wasn't Higgins(?) two-footed lunge at Duncan in the first half not equally punished?

Brainteazer
You're all wrong! It was Fraser Taylor and it was a double hat-trick :001: After the 6th went in he signalled his delight to the howdenenders !!! That's how I remember it anyway! :019:

ICT -V- Airdrie Utd : matchday thread
Poor game but a welcome 3 points. Great goal from Eric, just goes to show that when we do shoot we might just score !!! Defence still a worry. Had Airdire been a bit sharper they could have scored at least 3 today :001:

I liked the commentator's remark at the start of the game......"rangers are of course in the red" :D :015:

Team for Ayr
I think McBain did enough today to merit a place in the starting 11 next week. Seems the obvious replacement for Hayes if he's still injured by then?

Music For Saturday
From my seat in section B I can't make out anything over the tannoy. The speaker in that part of the North Stand is fecked !!

Proctor
He was poor today until he was moved further infield and Imrie replaced him on the right. He started right mid did he not? but he kept moving into centre and leaving their left winger in acres of space. Got caught out 3 or 4 times like this. He came onto a game after the switch and took his goal well and was unlucky not to score the winner. What I like about Proctor is that he tries to place the ball on goal and doesn't just lash the ball and try and burst the net.

ICT -V- Dunfermline : matchday thread
I thought Foran was injured and that's why he was hooked....otherwise why change it? We were 1 up FFS If anything it was probably our best home performance of the season (though that's not saying much)! That said we should've won, a draw really isn't good enough. Nice to see Roy on the park again, reminded me of the old days when ICT were a great team! :(

Home and Away
I agree. We play with a SPL mentality i.e. we play to try not to lose. In the 1st we need to play to win. Granted there is a fear factor amongst the players when playing at home. They don't want to try anything fancy in case it doesn't come off and the crowd is on their backs, the home jinx thing is now on their minds every home game, attendances are in freefall and as a result the, once bearly audible, atmosphere is now more silent than ibrox on a champions league night!

ICT -V- QOS : matchday thread
I was encouraged by our first half performance, after losing the early goal. In fact I think the early goal spurred the team into action cos for the first time in a long while they played with a bit of urgency and pace. Then out for the second half and the urgency had gone and it seemed to me that we were settling for the draw. QoS had other ideas though and when their chances came they took them! Game over! Yet another wasted Saturday afternoon and, as somebody else mentioned previous, when was the last time we saw a good old cavalry charge performance from ICT at home? After all the reason we're supposed to go to watch football is to be entertained? I can't remember the last time I was entertained at ICT. Folk are calling for Butcher's head but this is the same man that almost saved us last season. Has he become keech overnight? The way I see it the club is going backwards now and I think that first backward step was taken when CB was re-hired. I also think that the board have to take most of the blame for not getting rid sooner when it was clear to see that our position in the SPL was under serious threat. They acted stubbornly when the Supporters Trust voiced their displeasure with brewster and maybe held onto him longer than they would otherwise have done? This is all water under the bridge now but it's something that still leaves a sour taste in the mouth of this fan !! :018:
