  1. Ian Black has just gone seriously up in my estimations !!!! superb !! :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :021: :021: :021: :021:
  2. :015: :015: :015: :015: ooh not.....not to be.......not to be a........staggie !!! :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :021:
  3. Good to hear! Is it not the case that ICT or a subsidiary Trust own Grant Street Park?........ or something along those lines ???
  4. That's what I first thought...but I've been to Paris and I didn't recognise anything on the video.....so then I thought Milan ?????
  5. I'd rather accept your version of events rig as you were there. But The commentary team certainly did say that, as the Killie fans sang 'Ian Black you're a w~~~~r', Ian Black was sining along to it !!! :015: It actually made me lol at the time ! :015:
  6. The atmospheric video to 'Open Your Eyes' with the car driving along eerily empty streets.....does anyone know which city it's filmed in?
  7. Wasn't at the game but was listening to it on BBC. Sounded like Black was reacting to the Killie fans goading and the pundits were saying it was one more tackle till he was off. I felt it was the right decision to sub him before he was sent off.
  8. Good topic HC. Maybe give the boo-boys something to think about now!
  9. I didn't want to reply to this thread cos it's likely my post would be 3 pages long....but f~~k it !!!! I'll try and keep it brief! Since I first started posting on this board I have noticed over the years that there is an underlying respect between genuine ex-Jags and ex-caley fans. Personally I never refer to Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC as Thistle, I always use either 'ICT' or 'Inverness' and I find that the genuine ex-caley fans do likewise. Thistle and Caley between them have over 200 years of history. People can argue all they like about an 'unequal' merger but the fact is without both there would not be an ICT! Therefore, in my opinion, those who choose to refer to ICT as caley are either plain ignorant or plain provocative ! AND equally those who refer to ICT as thistle, although I've never heard it, are the same !
  10. Still in shock with that result !! :010: Probably the sorest result in ICT history? What is it with ICT and losing late goals !!!! Did we not learn anything from the last celtic game? Hard to take any positives from the game right now.....although I thought Bayne was terrific.
  11. Jags Football chews Pacers Winning raffle number written on a blackboard and paraded round the pitch at half time. Women on Tennents cans :love10: Terracing Pi**ed fans at a match Inverness derbies !! :dancing03: :dancing03: :dancing03: :blob09: Flared jeans Step haircuts White socks with black slip-on shoes Hogmanay first footers Your neighbours Milk bottles My youth !!! :009:.......
  12. Sounded like we played poor and deserved to get beat. Although with the other results today and hopefully defeats for Falkirk & Dun Utd tomorrow we might just get away with the loss today! However, I'm sure this board will be full of the harbingers of doom the night !!! :006:
  13. Read in todays Courier that Clach don't have their financial troubles to seek, again! I have never been a clach supporter but I do hope they come out if this. Their social club is now run by a brewery due to running at a loss. Clach park has changed a lot over the years, just in my lifetime, but I would hate to see it disappear. Ironic for me to say as, the last time I set foot inside the place was probably to see Jags play !!! But it is the last of an era. Clach are the last surviving club to represent Inverness in the HL and their ground is the last surviving ground of Inverness' past. Am I the only ICT/Jags fan to feel this way?
  14. Ashamed to admit that I don't know anything about Vigurs. :007: What position does he play and has anyone here seen him play?
  15. I suspect the guy in the green t-shirt is Rory....as everyone seems to be on his back right now !!!!! :008: I think IHE is the guy just out of picture, you can just see his boots on the chair that's just fallen over ! (one too many V&C's) The bloke in the dapper brown suit with the $ sign over his head is obviously Vladimir Romanov ! The dude in the caley blue suit is CB for obvious reasons ! :016: Next to CB and with the ginger hair it's Barry Robson making a guest appearance ! :010: The man with the white hairy face.........why it's Jock MacDonald !!! :005: Jesus Christ is......well that's me ! :004: The blonde is my ho!! :011: Next character is....with that tan it has to be Jimmy Calderwood ! :015: And the last wee sleekit nyaff with his back to us at the table is Eddie Thomson ! :020: Oh and lastly, pished on the floor, is ......looks like Billy Connolly ! And an interesting last supper that would make ! :025:
  16. Why is everyone getting on Rory's back? :008: The boy is only 19. He's been thrown in at the deep end, due to Wyness & Dargo injuries, and misses a couple of chances and suddenly he gets pelters. We've got injury problems in the squad right now and the team needs all the backing it can get. We've witnessed in the past what Rory is capable of, all he needs is a wee bit confidence and if we back him then he'll have confidence ! With 'fans' like ours who needs an opposition?
  17. I am the custodian of a programme from Jags next round match v celtic and it's signed by both teams !! :016: Speaking of the match v celtic.... although Jags got beat 6-zip,......after the final whistle the celtic fans in the jungle started singing "Thistle...Thistle". This was the only time I have ever witnessed anything like that ! Respect between two sets of opposing fans seems to be a thing of the past nowadays ?
  18. As the playing fields were once the home of the Jags, I wonder if there has been any archaelogical finds unearthed durning the construction works....... Rumour has it that a great many caley teams were buried there on a Saturday afternoon !!! :003: My favourite memory of the playing fields is (after opting for extra PE when we reached 4th year) on a wednesday afternoon.....Johnstone, Patience or Baillie would ask us what we wanted to do, the answer was always "game o' football sir". The craic was always good then ! And my worst memory.......... Cricket !!!!! WTF.....why did we have to partake of that activity. It's not even a sport !!!!!!!
  19. It's a no brainer.................. JAGS 3 - 0 KILLIE :dancing03: :dancing03: :dancing03: :dancing03: :dancing03: :dancing03: 1985 what a year ! That result far outweighs any other Scottish Cup result in history !!! :011:
  20. Aye, which makes the kids of these fans now teenagers who have been brought up by ICT hating parents, who will likely have inflicted their views not just on their kids but on all of their family!!! Hopefully in time these teenagers will grow into ICT followers ?
  21. Disregarding the up coming cup game and talking about our support in general..... In order to have a big support there needs to be a desire for folk to attend..... To create a desire means that folk want to be entertained and get value for money......Which in turn means that when folk do attend they want to be involved in a large crowd making plenty noise creating a great atmosphere and see good football on the park..... In ICT it can certainly be said that on their day there is good football a plenty to justify the admission price. However, Where a large turnout and great atmosphere is concerned it's a bit of a catch 22 situation. Without a large turnout there's not gonna be a great atmosphere and without a great atmosphere not so many folk have the desire to turnout ! A situation not helped by the fact that we only have 3 stands so most of the atmosphere that is created is lost out the open side of the ground. We can't expect the club to go to the expens of building another stand in the hope of enticing more folk to attend so therefore we are stuck with what we have. It could also be argued that some of the atmosphere that is created is a bit cringeworthy........."give me a c" anyone..... and "caley...clap...clap...clap" !!!!! :029: The merger has been mentioned previously in this thread as having no real effect on ICT's current attendances. I would argue that point. I know a great deal of ex Jags and caley fans that refuse to support ICT (personally it took me about 6 years to accept ICT after the merger as I felt, and still feel, that Jags were very hard done by). It has been said that these ex-fans are in the minority but what about their kids and families? These ex-fans feel so strongly that there's no way they'll promote ICT to their kids or friends or families! I guess what I'm trying to say is.....It will be a generation at least before ICT build a substantial local support ! :007:
  22. I think the midfield been doing just fine with Black out the team ! I've got nothing against Black but McBain and Duncan are bang in form and deserve their starting places.
  23. Yes the ticket prices for the cup game are extortionate. However, I think the prices for a season ticket for the family section in the North Stand is very reasonable. If the club were to make even more family section seats available, and with the tickets being payable over 3 months, then there really is no excuse why families cannot afford to watch ICT. A child season ticket pays for itself after only 6 matches ! Surely the answer is for the club to bump up the price of the OF cup games, as they have done, but discount the cup ticket price to season ticket holders. Maybe this would even provide a use for those 'vouchers' at the end of the season book, none of which I have ever used !!!. This would add incentive for folk to buy a season ticket and also ensure that when the OF come to town then the local OF fans will have to pay through their, blue or green, noses to watch the game !!!!
