  2. time for some big points so an away win for Elgin for me @5.00 please
  3. I left the forces 5 years ago and have just started my second job since joining "civvie street" Both jobs have come about through contacts and friends. Don't know if you are interested in overseas or whether its an optio but Aramco out here is a massive organisation, mainly American, but no doubt work in your field here without taxation. Good luck Rig anyway
  4. I was under the impression that the "fair city" was also a Scots city. Inverness is wonderful from where I am.
  5. Livi V County draw please @ 3.50
  6. Peterhead to win please @ 2.87
  7. I don't view Robbo as "going back". Since parting company with us and being relatively successful in his time away he'll have gained a lot more experience, learned a lot more about the job and grown his list of contacts. This means he would be returning as an experienced manager as opposed to the rookie manager that left for Hearts. Having been pretty successful at ICT as a rookie, then I think we'd be stupid to pass up the chance of seeing what he can do now he's experienced. Add to that the fact he's available, he's local, he's passionate about ICT and comes without any "baggage" (involvement in things which might detract from the job) and I don't think there's another manager out there that we could afford who ticks more boxes. To dismiss him on the grounds that he's been here before is, IMO, cutting off your nose to spite your face. I think Caley D has it just about right. I would like to see him given a contract til the end of the season, discussions regarding an extension dependent on survival. 16 games to go, how many points for safety, I wod guess between 20 and 25 so 8 wins required. 6 points in January would be nice, just look what happened at Spurs when the prodigal returned.
  8. How long have you been in Egypt??
  9. The chairman came out and said what he felt he had to say," said Brewster, ambivalently but with undertones of disappointment at the need for the often ominous vote of confidence from George Fraser after a fans' meeting. "There was a meeting of around 60 people and hardly any made any comments, so all the talk and all the stories are based on 20 fans at a club that has an average attendance at home of 3000. Some people forget how far this club has come in a short period of time. They just take it for granted that we are supposed to be a mid-table SPL club. Well, the SPL doesn't work like that." If the Chairman is prepared to make comments like the above it proves that his memory is also very short. Anybody remember how far Gretna came and went in an even shorter period of time than our club has been in existence. No we don't have the right to a place in the SPL, but to give up our place that was hard won, without so much as a whimper from those in positions of power. I don't believe that Brewster will fall on his sword because that would require him firstly to acknowledge that decent players don't always crack management, and secondly the integrity to realise that he is responsible for performances and inspiring his team.
  10. I saw the "offensive video" this morning on Sky news. It was no more abusive than any abbreviation is and pales into insignificance when the other offensive remark "raghead" is included in the same report. If this had happened last week and not dragged up on a slow news weekend by the gutter press (is that offensive?) three years after the event, it might have been news. As a retired serviceman who has been called all possible names for a Jock over the years I found the clip quite amusing and innoffensive. The two remarks were whispered and barely audible and obviously meant in a lighthearted manner as a troop of squadies waited patiently for their delayed flight at the International Airport that RAF Brize Norton is Not.
  11. With the connection I get out here, didn't dare risk opening a second window, so have spent my evening in the company of BBC text. Morais and his buddy would appear to have settled in rather well. If Morais keeps it up he could be our top scorer by the end of the month. (lots of finger crossing going on here) One swallow doesn't make a summer but it is nice to finally get a win - albeit against our likely opposition for next season unless this is the start of the recovery.
  12. I can't condone Israels actions but do understand them. Hamas regularly fire rockets from the middle of heavily populated areas. The Israelis track these missiles and as they have always done hit back at aggressors incredibly hard. Surrounded as they are by hostile neighbours, their logic of sledgehammer to crack a peanut obviously makes sense in Tel Aviv. The only reason other Arab countries don't join in with Hamas overtly is that many of them remember the 6 day war in 1967 when the Israelis totally detroyed the Egyptian Air Force after being attacked. Solutions to the problem start with getting Hamas and Israel to talk and more importantly listen to each other.
  13. Hopefully he will go, which will stop him adding to the bucketful he has put in our net this season. (like most teams and players) That would free up McFadden to come North to the Sneck to show our young strikers where the net is. :thumb04: :018:
  14. Think beer monster my have hit the nail on the head. Barry should be given a few games up front with one of the youngsters. At least until the window opens and other options are available, he has the experience, but maybe not the legs for a full game anymore.
