  1. Does anyone really know the question? I mean from an official source, as opposed to this media (or website) creation which some are giving so much credence to.
  2. When I go on holiday I put work right to the back of my mind. The last thing I want is people phoning from/about work, so I can sympathise with him.
  3. buckett replied to a post in a topic in Caley Thistle
Didn't think they allowed cantankerous old gits on Bebo! :001:
  4. Devotees of this forum who are members of the Free Church of Scotland and indeed the Free Presbyterian Church will be well aware that it is common practice to sit down while singing psalms in praise of our Lord, so it would not be at all difficult for them to sing songs in praise of our Team while sitting down.
  5. I think that was on the previous forum. Might happen this coming season if **** fulfils his remit. Different leagues though! :015:
  6. I see what you mean jamie ictfc. And if you've got 5000 Gretna fans watching Motherwell v. Rangers, which end do they go to? What colours would they wear? Would there be anyone left in Gretna? Presumably such an arrangement would be geared to assist Gretna, but I can't really see Motherwell fans turning out in their thousands to watch Gretna. It could actually work for us and County because of the proximity of the two grounds, if home games were co-ordinated. I know a few people who will happily go and watch whichever team is playing at home
  7. It's Clach for me, because that's where I used to go as a kid when Caley were playing away
  8. Even the most ardent ICT supporter has probably got at least a passing interest in some other team - perhaps a childhood error, or a past loyalty when living elsewhere, or even a sense of sympathy towards some inferior local team. Perhaps parental pressure forced you to follow one of the OF until you saw the light. Or maybe you're a supporter of some other team and you just visit this forum because you have only a passing interest in ICT. So what is/are your diddy team(s), and why? You can vote for up to 3 teams. (if I've done this right!)
  9. Personally I'd rather go and watch Clach.
  10. I don't believe in gratuitous buying of players every closed season. Leave that to the OF. Buy only what we need if we can afford to. Otherwise grow our own.
  11. Realistically the target must be to survive at SPL level. However, I would always expect the team to try to win every game and would be very disappointed if this was not the case. So far I've seen no evidence to suggest otherwise.
  12. Not a memorable debut today! :015:
  13. Dunfermline!
  14. Who's Mark Brown???
  15. We're upstarts and we're doing well- that's what's wrong with us. "Who do they think they are?" It's the same as how we all hated Cove Rangers when they joined the Highland League. Nobody was bothered about Fort William because they performed sh!te from day one. It's the same as how we all hate Gretna, because they're upstarts too and they're doing well. Nobody's bothered about Elgin City because they performed sh!te from day one in the SFL. People are warming to Ross County now - they should be worried!!
  16. I'm sure ICT's reason for blocking a 10 team SPL would be more to do with the fact that we'd then be 2 places closer to relegation! Why not keep it simple though - a 20 team SPL renamed Division 1 and the remaining teams in something called Division 2. And of course a pyramid system where relegated teams go down to a participating "non" league appropriate to their location. Perhaps a gradual reduction of teams - 20 in each division. That would mean 38 games each season for everyone, and the fixture lists would remain true from day 1 to the last day. 2 automatic promotions/relegations and 2 from each division in playoffs. There's probably just about 20 teams that could justify a place in the top league - don't forget that income lost from less OF games would in part be compensated by more 'local derbies' - we may occasionally share a platform with Elgin City, Ross County or Peterhead. And can't we bin this ridiculous notion of "SPL 2" - doesn't "premier" mean first, or best? "SPL 2" just debases the term.
  17. Wishaw - population about 30,000. I suppose the residents just troop along to watch their neighbours Motherwell on Saturdays, similar to what the good folk of Dingwall will be doing soon if they want to see something better than 2nd Division football.
  18. Perhaps he remembers how well things worked out the last time he left ICT! He's been great for us though, no doubt about it. What a boost that'll be if he commits himself to ICT for another 2 years. Here's hoping!
  19. I have no problem with differing opinions. What does worry me is the thought police! :010:
  20. Remember it well - the stadium was so packed I couldn't get near my usual spot on the terracing and ended in the away end, part of which had been opened for the large home support. As I looked around at the thousands of unfamiliar faces, I wondered where these b*****ds had been for the rest of the season!
  21. Rangers rocked as Dargo's late strike makes a point for Caley - that's the ponderous headline in the Mail on Sunday; not nearly as catchy as yours, Clacher!
  22. As it currently stands we only need 4 more points to guarantee SPL survival for another season. Of course Dunfermline will probably help our cause by losing at least 4 points in which case we can safely lose all our remaining games. I reckon we'll be safe next Saturday, either by winning while Dunfermline don't, or by not losing while Dunfermline do. Statisticians may prove me wrong here, but I believe that if we don't finish 7th, this would be only the second season in our existence where we'll have finished in a lower position than the previous season. I just hope we haven't peaked!
  23. He saved his best for his first season with Livi in the SPL.
  24. Sounds like a knee-jerk reaction to a bad day at the office - the sort of thing we've all had, where we sometimes just want to jack it in and walk away. Of course he's only been in the job for 10 minutes and it would be foolish to walk away at this stage, but now it's probably blown over and he realises that. Agree with Scotty though - maybe he needs to be more of a b*****d and detach himself a bit from the shop floor. And no favouritism - treat them ALL like s**t!!!
  25. Black was very raw when he came up here. He quickly built a reputation for petulance and a poor attitude. This was, however, balanced by his skills and ability. Now he is clearly working on his temperament. It won't happen overnight but he is obviously aware of his weaknesses and the need to work on them and he is progressing. It would be foolish to dismiss him as a loose cannon and cash in when he is probably now on the verge of conquering his afflictions. Wouldn't it be galling to see him finally achieving greatness, but with another team, because we wouldn't give him time?
