May Not Be As Bad As We Think
I don't believe that to be the case.

May Not Be As Bad As We Think
I don't attack the club for not publishing their plans as I wouldn't expect them to do that. In fact that is exactly my point when I said that the chairman was all over the press announcing redundancies without first putting the staff on redundancy notice. Some of the announcements yesterday have been agreed for a few weeks now, but they chose not to share it. That's their perogative. My point was that I believe that it was a direct result of the fans unrest that they chose now to share this information. I also ended with a positive comment. I think now that they have shown that they are working away behind the scenes they will have installed some confidence in the fans. I'm also sure when TB returns we will be talking about football once again and looking forward.

May Not Be As Bad As We Think
Alex, I have to say your desire to put a positive spin on every story regrading ICT is admirable. Some of the decisions publicised have been fairly common knowledge for a few weeks now and could have been publicised earlier if the club had chosen to. I think this would have settled the fans down a little to know that something was being done. I actually agree with IHE that this could well be a result of the unrest shown on this forum, with fans looking for some news. I know that the couldn't publicise things until the staff had been spoken to but they did publicise the fact that there was going to be redundancies without first notifying the staff. I understand that the funding for the under 19s has now gone, but I'm still disappointed at some of the cuts in the Youth & Community. Danny is a victim of the relegation restructure. He may have finally chosen to go, but I suspect that was rather than accept what was offered to him and his department. He is also a gentleman and if he had something else in the pipeline I believe he would take that and save the jobs of some others in his staff. I am very sorry to see him leave ICT. I am however happy that this announcement is made and with Terry back next week I think we will start to see some very positive and motivating press and we can all look forward to some fun days out in the 1st division.

I thought that Alec Cleland would have a role, but sadly he has gone too. More like Charlie Christie will fill Dannys boots I would think

Disillusioned Or Not? (merged)
So you have mentioned. I have to say that I totally believe Terry & Maurice are the right people to at least have us challenging next season. Terry's speech at the ball was so passionate, I believe they will give us a fighting chance. I really hope that when he returns to work on Monday we will see some positive press which will hopefully cheer us all up again. I'm looking forward to many things about next season, but theres 1 or 2 things about the transition I've not been too excited about. So I'm looking forward to having Terry & Maurice back at work and moving on. We've just got to get on with it and support the team we all love. Not sure why this has been merged as I liked the idea of a slighly more psoitive thread

Pre-season Friendlies - Announced
Lizi You are spot on. I was having a conversation about this with someone last night. I think it has to be held by September as that's when his testimonial year ends.

Can anybody tell me which round of the Scottish Cup we will enter at this season? Is it round 4?

Disillusioned Or Not? (merged)
Do we know how the shareholding is broken down? I take it Tullochs are the major shareholder? Seems a lot if you only need 25% sharehold to get 50% of the directorship. What would it take to get a shift of the power base, new major investment? Do the supporters trust not have a %? Supporters' Trust have a voting right of 10% as well as just over ?10,000 worth of shares.

I still can't even see the list :023: Use the BBC link, the SFL one I posted still was pointing to last season so I deleted it

Fixtures
I could not believe when I read recently that websites have to pay hundreds of pounds to legally display fixtures. The level of corporate greed in the football world is unbelievable. You are absolutely right, however a letter from ICT can almost wipe out the cost. Last I heard the letter had not been received meaning that Scotty/CaleyD would have to personally come up with the cash and that is obviously not an option. I hope it is all now in place and we'll have the fixtures online at 10am.

New Honorary President Of Ict
I can't believe that the board could have been this short sighted, surely this is just a silly rumour. I hope it's all okay as the Supporters Trust have a quiz night next week and I don't think it would be the same without the bar being open.

Fixtures
Can I just mention that the fixtures are subject to tight copyright laws and can only be posted on here under licence. Scotty/CaleyD will be able to confirm whether they have the licence in place. I believe they were waiting for a letter from ICT which is required, but this could well be in place now and the fixtures will be able to be published on here as soon as they are released.

I agree with most of this - tell us like it is and let us take it on the chin. make the hard decisions so that forthcoming ones are easier but do so with honesty and transparency. However, as I have said and said again, I support the club in not going public until the consultation process is completed. I am not a club employee so I am not party to what stage that is at, but a process like that is not something that can or should be dragged out so we cannot be talking months, in fact, if it has been ongoing since the end of the season, I would hope/expect a statement may be forthcoming rather quickly. First of all, can I just say that I have avoided posting very much about the current situation. This is mainly because people read my posts as the views of the Supporters' Trust. Let me assure you that these are my thoughts and my thoughts only. I agree with a lot of comments on this thread, but as for not going public!! George Fraser was interviewed on TV the week following relegation and announced there would be redundancies (no surprise there). The only problem was, as far as I'm aware, that the staff at that time were not given formal notice of pending redundancies and hearing it on the local news was quite unprofessional in my opinion. From what I have seen/heard, there would seem to be very little in the way of a process. I can't believe that a cost/benefit analysis would have identified the people who have gone already and there are some staff still on notice and some deemed 'safe'. If I'm honest I think that many of the staff who have gone and even some who are still currently employed would have a very strong case at a tribunal. Terry Butcher was so passionate when he spoke at the Ball, I did believe that we were going to have a good go at promotion next season. I have to say that I'm with IHE and now feel quite disillusioned. I hope that TB doesn't feel the same when he returns from his coaching course.

The Youth System Update (merged)
I believe we were very lucky to have Alec and I think if we want a pool of young players, he was the man to provide us with that. Sorry to see Scotty(kel) & Danny go too, both thoroughly decent guys with ICT at heart. I am becoming quite concernd about the youth set up for next season

Contracts (merged)
You cannot do this licence unless you are actually working at the time as far as I know.

Season Ticket Application
I think that your current seat is not released until the beginning of July

Alba cup v Montrose. Glad we have 2 home games

Cis Cup
We have eleven contracted players and a decent sized squad of U-19's to call upon if worst came to worst. I believe by the end of June we will have signed a few more. I think you'll find that we currently have a somewhat depleted U-19 squad too. I am hopeful that there a few new signings in the pipeline as I suspect we will lose more before the start of the season.

What Can We Do?
A whole thread about wanting to help and not 1 volunteer to help the events team with the car boot sales. They are a small team and have been manning the boot sales themselves, but with them going weekly they need to have a team in place. You wouldn't all have to do every week but I'm sure some of you could help out. They do make a lot of money for the football club. Any volunteers? And before you mention I work Saturday night shift so the times are not good for me, but I think I do my bit in many other ways.
