  1. As you know this event sold out really quickly, without even a mailing, just word of mouth. We do however have a cancellation for 2 seats, so it will be first come first served. For an alternative see the Golf day and dinner thread stickied at the top of the page
  2. Barry's Golf day will take place on Wednesday 14th May. This event will be for teams of 4 and will be held at Fairways Loch Ness Golf Course - Tee times to be advised Cost is only ?300 for 4 people, includes round of golf, bacon rolls and an afternoon of golf and fun, followed by a sports dinner in the evening at the Stadium. If you wish you will be able to invite an ICT celebrity to make up your team of 4, subject to availability. George McNeil will be the After Dinner Speaker - see below. George McNeil After-Dinner Speaker George McNeil was once the fastest man in the world. An ex-sprinter, George also had a very short career as a professional footballer with Hibernian Football Club in Edinburgh. Very well known as an after-dinner speaker in his native Scotland, George tells stories of his experiences as a sprinter, competing in America and running against the world's best. George McNeil has a unique talent when it comes to telling stories and is a tremendous asset to any top table. There will be limited availability for dinner only. Table of 10 - ?450 Please contact myself to book or for further details. e-mail - [email protected] Telephone 07769 697899
  3. Note the change of kick off (MEE) :004: 2.30pm at the stadium - admission free. Hope TM4TJ has it in his diary. I should make it tomorrow for around half time I would think.
  4. That's a fairly good post onwards and upwards and you ask some very relevant questions. I am however, assured by the Football Club, that the necessary measures are in place on a match day to satisfy the SIA. Will do Eliza, well at least we can raise it, not sure we can get it sorted, but we can certainly seek some reassurances from the Football Club that action is being taken to resolve some of the issues. This is exactly what we need, specific incidents which we can take to the meetings. Better still if you can get police or steward numbers and maybe even a couple of witness statements at the time of any incident which concerns you.
  5. I think the suggestion of a feigned injury was aimed at the possibility of saving face if he is dropped to the bench. Not that he wouldn't want to play. It's easier to say that he is carrying a knock than say that he has been dropped. (If indeed this is the case).
  6. These huge flags are known as surfing flags and are a common site in the football world. They are banned at ICT following a recomendation to ban them after some fans in Aberdeen set off a flare under cover of the flag. Other clubs seem to ignore this advice and still use them. I think you have to look at the risks, 1 reported incident shows that it is possible, but as a percentage the risk of a problem must be minimal. Risk assessments should be based on the worst case scenario and then the probability of an incident. ICT have taken the stance that these flags are banned from our ground.
  7. I am just awaiting the final details of this day and night out. Again we will be afforded the opportunity to pre book before a mailing goes out to local businesses. This will be a Golf Day followed by a sports dinner at the Stadium. Hopefully it will give those who were unable to secure seats for the testimonial dinner an opportunity to support Barry's testimonial year. Check back later today for all the information.

    LOSERS

Friday's weigh in resulted in another 12.5lbs shed. So 74.5lbs so far. :clapping03: :clapping03: :clapping03:
  9. I did raise the licensing issue with the club in November and they were working with the SIA and seemed to have managed to fulfill the criteria. Not all stewards need to be licensed but some do. I know that ACE just licence all their employees to avoid any problems. Football grounds in England have an exemption from licensing, but this never came into place in Scotland. I think Rock Steady might have been a bit slow off the mark in the hopes that the exemption might have come into Scotland, so now they will have a major catch up. There does seem to be less stewards in the North Stand on a match day but I'm not sure the reason why. I did download the booklet from the SIA website which clearly states what they can and can't do without the appropriate certification.
  10. To my knowledge the police are only supposed to get involved if a crime has been comitted. Stewards should deal with rules and police with criminal activity.

    Bricks

Looking at the front off the building, they are to the right of the main door. Just at the corner of the main building, before the turnstiles
  12. Eliza - a very good post. As for me posting comments, I'm sure you are aware of my source. I was speaking to the Chairman discussing a few ways we as a club could support this group of youngsters. This discussion included seating, flags, places for banners etc. Fairly positive conversation. During this discussion a fan who was in attendance at the St Mirren game, advised us that there had been a problem with alcohol consumption among some of the younger ones, who I believe ran their own bus. You are absolutely right to point out the penalties involved for all concerned for breaking the law regarding drinking on the bus. You also make some good comments about the difference between humour and abuse. One of the things that annoys me is the abuse that our fans give Ritchie Hart, we should be supporting our own team and while 'banter' is great and mostly humourous, there is a fine line. Especially in these P C days. The BENI have my full support and I will continue to assist them wherever possible. They must however, self police and gain the respect of the club, where they will also find huge support as long as they work with them rather than try to fight against them. I don't agree with a lot of the rules and regulations, but they are put in place by the SPL/SFA supposedly for our safety and enjoyment. My experience is that they do exactly the opposite in most cases. We have to work together to find the common ground.

  14. As I said I can't argue either way as I'm only acting on hear say, but the fan who told me about it seemed to think those who were ejected, deserved to be. My comment about the minority spoiling things for the majority was more general, not just referring to Saturday but in general, for every team in every ground.
  15. As I said I wasn't there. I was speaking to someone yesterday who had a different opinion on the behaviour, but I can't really comment either way.
  16. Why is it that Dieticians are often fat? :015: :015: :015:
  17. Okay persistant standing will get you thrown out. You use the word persistant, so that suggests that they had received warnings. So you are saying they were sober then? Don't think so. I wasn't there myself, just passing on what I was told by someone who was. Standing is tolerated in some grounds more than others and they should appreciate it when it is ignored. If stewards ask you to sit down then you should follow their instructions. It is a shame though if a few spoil it for the rest of the support.
  18. What was that all about? Illegal sombrero wearing? The old 'standing up' issue, I think....... I believe it may have been alcohol related, rather than just standing. (which is against the rules of the SPL).
  19. Setanta have looked at it as an option, but fingers crossed it stays where it is. No confirmation on their listings yet.
  20. Not really for me to say, but leave it with me. We have plenty time before then to sort something out.
  21. I'll try and pop down, should make it for about half time.
  22. :rotflmao: Nothing like being prepared. :015:
  23. :clapping03: :clapping03: :clapping03: :clapping03: Well done indeed.

    LOSERS

Okay the update I promised Total combined weight loss between the five of us as at last Friday - A pretty amazing 62lbs!!!!!!! :021: :021: :021: :021: Well done guys, and still another 6 weeks to go.
  25. West Stand is still available to you as far as I know. There was just a new ruling that meant you had to exchange your tickets, this was in line with SPL rules that you should sit in the seat you have a ticket for. No problem though, just don't all try to exchange tickets immediately before the game. If you want to go to the West Stand you should sort it sooner rather than later. Let me know if there is anything I can do.
