  1. I must've been at a different match to the one the radio commentators were at today as I'm sure I heard them say in their report that we dominated the first half....Hibs could easily have been 3 or 4 up by HT if they'd taken their chances. I thought we were as poor as we were last week. Constant long balls onto Jones head. Unable to string more than two passes together, and our deliveries into the box were shocking....again. We stood off them way too much, and allowed them far to much space in the middle. Dare I say it but we missed Duncan there. The substition of Imrie was odd.....not for taking him off (he was absolute mince), but for replacing him with a defender! Thought Cowie should've been replaced instead of McBain, as he was mince too. Duff did well, but like the rest of our defence, seems to panic under pressure, and just hoofs the ball anywhere. We really need Munro back. From what I saw of their goal it was the usual defence all stopping, waiting for the whistle, routine. We were very lucky to get a point today because they could've had a hatful really. Blackie was my MOTM by a mile.

    Team For Hibs

Esson....purely because his distribution's better Tokely Proctor Duff Djebi-Zadi Cowie Black Vigurs Imrie Barrowman Rooney
  3. Bingo still oozes class.....it was a real shame he decided to **** off to Gretna when he did.
  4. davieB

    Vigurs

Everytime I see him he looks a class act....infact, he gets better everytime I see him. Not quite sure where he's going to fit into the midfield but I'd like to see him get his chance sooner rather than later.
  5. Have you watched the BBC highlights yet? At one point in the second half, McGuire heads it straight to a Hamilton player, who's then through on goal, but fortunately he pulled his shot wide. I've no idea what Brewster sees in him, but whatever it is, I've certainly never seen it.
  6. Keep him there with Munro I reckon. He did fine in my opinion, apart from his **** up. After alll, McGuire seems to have mares every week, so it's not like the options are any better.
  7. Woeful display. After the high of last week, we got the complete opposite today. We seemed to be second to every ball in midfield, and everytime we did gain position we simply lumped it forward, or gave it away. We should've gone 442 from the start, as Rooney looked decent when he came on. Him and Black were the only ones who got passmarks in my opinions.....the rest didn't even come close to that, they were all mince. There's nothing much else to say really. We were *****, they deserved to win....even though they weren't much better.

[edit: fixed link - Scotty.]
  9. I didn't realise what a superb run Roy made for the second. Watch the speed on the bloke....not bad for the 90th minute!
  10. Onwards and upwards as they say. I was very impressed with Barrowman yesterday, he got through a pile of work, and played superbly with his back to goal. The likes of Imrie, Cowie, and Roy have the pace to make this system work.
  11. On yesterday's evidence it looked like we'd reverted back to the style we used to such great effect that season we went an age undefeated away from home. With just Barrowman upfront (and the only real viable choice), we used the system perfectly yesterday, and full credit to Brewster for getting the tactics spot on. We do desperately need another striker I know, but away from home I reckon we've got the players capable of playing on the counter, so the option of playing a lone striker becomes more appealing. To be honest I hope Brew sticks with this tactic, and it's fantastic to watch.......suck them in, then....BANG, break with speed.
  12. Superb day, and superb result. Just how gash are Aberdeen eh?? Feckin woeful. As for us....it was a bit like that season where we played some really great counter-attacking stuff. We did it again today, and could easily have got a third goal. Defence was excellent.....though McGuire still gives me afright anytime it's anywhere near him. The midfield were outstanding, and worked tirelessly throughout. Each of them never stopped, and supported Barrowman superbly. Barrowman....looks a great signing, held the ball up excellently, and harried their defence all game. I said yesterday I was quietly confident, but I didn't expect it to be as good as that!
  13. I'd disagree about McBain Rig. I thought he was absolutely outstanding on the left, out MOTM in my opinion. He never stopped all game, and was supporting Barrowman throughout. McGuire is a liabilty I reckon. Quite a few times he screwed up horribly. I thought Barrowman was superb, he held the ball up brilliantly and really gave their defence a hard time. Other than that, I agree

    Aberdeen (a)

I'd go.. Fraser Tokely Munro Duff McBain Cowie Black Duncan Wilson Barrowman Imrie Strangely enough, I'm feeling quietly confident about tomorrow. They're not in great shape, and maybe getting them first up is good for us.
  15. All the best to Marius, I think it's an absolute embarrassment the way we've treated him. Those erseholes who've berated him all season.....who's come out of this with dignity? The club or Marius? Mercenaries :rotflmao: :rotflmao:.....I'll tell yer what, there's only one person who can hold their head up high through all this, and it ain;t any fecker on the board. As much as Marius wanted to get his career back on track, all our lot could do was see the ? signs flashing....feck building the club round one truly quality player we might attract, lets sacrifice that for some fecking dud failure from across the bridge. If there's any doubt who's the mercenary here now...well, the it isn't Marius that's for sure. Good luck Marius, it was a pleasure watching you, all the best :022:
  16. Bit harsh on Evans, on that team performance none of them would've won themselves a new contract. I like the look of him, and think he'd be a decent signing. The defence was awful, Hastings had a shocker when he came on. Central defence looks like it's going to be a real problem area for us. And as for Lionel....I can see him becoming a bit of a fans favourite but from what I've seen of him he's going to be a liability, and cost us goals. Not much to add really, we were woeful. Other than Blackie, and Vigurs when he came on, I wouldn't give anyone pass marks. Vigurs looks a great player and he must be close to really challenging for a regular start.

    Ryan Esson

I always thought he looked excellent against us, he certainly denied us a couple of victories. I suspect that he's not always like that though!
  18. That was worth the entrance money alone....right enuff!
  19. Line up against Clach was.. Fraser Proctor Kerr Duff Zadi Wilson Cowie Black Evans Imrie Barrowman Comfortable victory, 4-0 up after 40 minutes, then they eased off in the second half. Barrowman could've had a couple of hat-tricks quite easily but managed to miss them all. Zadi is confusing. Some great bits of skill, but then he looked a real liability at times. His 'shot' must already be a contender for the worst of the season. Very impressed with Cowie/ Imrie/ Proctor/ Kerr/ and Duff, though everyone did well. Evans had a quiet start but got more involved in the second half, and showed some really neat touches, and on superb shot which nearly produced a cracking goal. Looks decent in my opinion, very quick, and some lovely passes. I'd like to think he'll be offered a contract
  20. I watched bits of the game on some streaming channel...can't mind what it was called. Marius played really well, great layoff for the 4th. He appeared to be wearing the captains armband as well towards the end, not sure if someone else can confirm this??
  21. You don't agree with me, I don't agree with you. Fine, I've no problem with that, and I've no problem with healthy debates around the issue. After all, we all support, and want the best for our team. You're on your own though if you want to reduce it to personal abuse.
  22. You should've left it as it was JK, you were spot on.
  23. Brewster is the manager, so he obviously decides who signs :017: If he was just a player....then no, he should have no say. And Scotty....I know you weren't having a go, and my post wasn't aimed at you. You raised more general questions (rather than views) in your post though, which is why I highlighted them.
  24. So now we ask the players who they think it's ok to sign? :017: We are indeed in a bad way if we let them run the club. Maybe his wages have, maybe they havent....I don't know, or care. I have absolutely no interest in how much the players earn. Seeing as the club are rumoured to be paying half his wages though, are you seriously suggesting the rest of the squad are on ?400 a week each???
  25. Seems like it'd be better for all if we just went back to being a 'wee team up north'. No ambition, know our rightful place within the hierarchy. Lets get back to looking forward to a back page cup headline once in a while. And lets know our lot involves taking the best players from over the bridge every season. Some folk on here were complaining (rightly so) when Charlie used to use the small team mentality line. The same people on here have exactly the same attitude. Personally, I don't think Marius has lived up to expectations at all, but he's still miles better than any other options we've got. It's the non stop, deeply personal, and at times, disgusting abuse he's received from day one from certain posters that's really got on my tits. Maybe we should ask the club to approach these same people next time we sign someone, and ask them how much they think it'd be acceptable to pay them.
