  1. I can't believe this decision. I always thought Morgan was one of our sturdiest players. Big, strong, a good touch, hard to knock off the ball, good at carrying the ball under pressure, an excellent cross and shot. I'd pick him ahead of Rankin or McBain any day. He was the best player on the park when we gubbed Gretna at home - I wouldn't be suprised if they offer him a deal.
  2. Good spot Scotty, I'm still half shot.
  3. Some folks on here need to take into account the fact that MN isn't used to Scottish football and needs time to adapt and settle in. Patience is a virtue. Surely ICT fans have had enough examples over the years to have worked this out (Wyness, Robson, Dargo etc). If we binned every player who didn't hit the ground running just imagine where we'd be now! Knee jerk reactions and snap judgements over the short-term will get you nowhere. An intelligent manager works with a longer time-horizon in mind. Those who would like to see us get shot of MN and play the 'infinitely superior' Grame Bayne :rolleyes02: :rolleyes02: really need to wake up and smell the coffee. Your motto in life is probably 'it seemed like a good idea at the time'.
  4. The official 'family reasons' party line is all very Soviet. Don't forget his pivotal role during the Christie era, where standards declined in almost every way. He obviously can't be the super-coach he's made out to be because he couldn't even keep the players fit. And his sole game in charge, the shocking 3-0 going on 10-0 home defeat to Utd suggested that he's not exactly Mr Motivator, or a tactical wizz. Has anyone else ever wondered why Charlie is never in the dugout these days? He was involved during Brewsters first spell. Perhaps Parks departure will open the door to him taking on some more duties on the footballing side. Although even if he returns, I would still like to see a new assistant come in from outside.
  5. He has a good all round game but needs to get into goal scoring positions more often.
  6. We were fortunate that Midden were even more garbage than we were. They must have had about a dozen corners today - a half decent team would have thrashed us.
  7. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. :33: ICT fans don't boo their own players on a whim. It's all about the attitude that players display. This is why average players like Keough or MacDonald earn 'cult hero' status, while 'talented' youngsters like Fraser or McAllister get lambasted. That's football.
  8. He put in a decent shift, won some tastey challenges, had some classy touches and first touch passes, but didn't look like a goal scoring threat. Once again the question is posed... is he really an out-and-out striker? Or would his skills be better employed in midfield - especially given his tendency to drift back there to pick up the ball anyway.
  9. They should start selling chicken curry pies, you can get them in a few places in Inverness now. They'd be a top seller guaranteed.
  10. It was the Georgia game that blew it for us.
  11. Steve Paterson laid all the groundwork for us getting into the SPL. When he left we were top of the first division, playing fantasy football, and handing out some absolute drubbings. Robbo took us backwards in my opinion. We ended up finishing fourth after he took over, and only narrowly won the league ahead of Clyde the season after despite having a vastly superiour team and squad. Nobody in Scottish football had a better record in the transfer market than Pele. Barry Robson - free, Dennis Wyness - free, Barry Wilson - free, Roy McBain - free, Grant Munro - free, Paul Ritchie - free, Paul Sheerin - free, Mike Teasedale - ?5,000, Ross Tokely - nominal fee, Bobby Mann - ?30,000.... Basically the entire squad that took us to the SPL were either rejects signed from the fringes, or bargain basement jobs. Never before or since has an ICT manager done so much with so little.
  12. Just watched the highlights on the BBC website and it appears we were indeed VERY hard done by. Baynes two bookings weren't even fouls. The second one rather than 'lunging through' the player as the press suggsted he's actually gone in for a blocking challenge (around the side) but just listen to the Motherwell player scream AAAARRRRGGGHHH!!!! as he dives, absolutly pathetic. Their second goal was a stonewall offside. It doesn't get anymore clear cut. Tokelys 'violent lunge' into McGarry also looks pretty soft. There is contact, but he certainly doesn't punch him, shades of Dida for me.
  13. Pele once made Tokely go and wait on the team bus after he was sent off against Ayr Utd :024:
  14. When Brewster took over we were bottom of the league and had ZERO points. Charlie Christie is responsible for how mince we are this season. While there are still woeful fluctuations in our perfomance levels - at least we've started to hit some peaks as well as troughs. Under Christie we were on a downward spiral. Now we're on a rollercoaster. Thats a step forward. I wish the Brew knockers would apply some perspective to matters.
  15. Can you really blame Bayne for this? Surely the guys who keep hoofing hopeful long balls up to him rather than picking a pass are to blame.
  16. The arrogance of Mark McGee is salt in the wounds. Apparently the two sending offs had 'no bearing on the result', and 'the game was won by half time' :rolleyes02:
  17. Tannoy "Well, it looks like Graeme Bayne and Dennis Wyness's places are safe next week" I would like to see Bayne attempt the Flybe challenge at half time next week, I wouldn't bet on him scoring once.
  18. Brewster hasn't had a chance to bring in any players yet. Judge him then.
  19. We were very naieve today. Early on it was apparent that the referee was going to give a foul for any physical play whatsoever - but we didn't adapt, instead we just hoped that if he took enough stick, the @rsehole in the black would straighten out - he didn't and we got punished. One decision that stood out for me was when McGarry (I think) dived to the ground writhing in agony, when nobody had even touched him, the home fans went mental, the referee blew his whistle, raced over, and gave a drop ball. :029: I was certain he was going to book him for diving (which would have meant he would have thought twice before he keeled over to get Roscoe sent off later on) but he bottled it, and decided to make up the rules as he went along. How much contact Roscoe actually made with McGarry was unclear, regardless of the fact that McGarry is a cheating scumbag Roscoe should have the book thrown at him. He let down the team and the fans. Bayne's first booking was ridiculous, but the second was pure stupidity on his part. The only good that came out of todays game is that he's suspended. He must shut his eyes when he heads the ball because absolutly none of his flick ons go anywhere near an ICT player. And his aerial 'threat' is the strongest part of his game :017: I hope the decision to play Bayne ahead of Niculae was to motivate the latter, because if Brewster thinks Bayne is a better pick than Marius (or even Deano) then his judgement has to be seriously questioned. In a bizarre twist, the only decent performer for us today was Michael Fraser. Some excellent kicking and a world class save where he tipped it over the bar near the end. Shame he got nutmegged to spoil it.
  20. Rankin was garbage at the start of the season, every bit as bad as when he first signed for us. That's why he's not playing. He's a luxury (can't defend, loses the ball all the time etc. All he's got going for him is that he has a good left foot) Alan Morgan is a much sturdier, more reliable player who always puts in a shift and makes things happen.
  21. Proctor cetainly looked the business when he came on at centre half against Aberdeen. IHE will probably have heard the phrase "Madness is doing exactly the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result." I think we've been guilty of a bit of that this season. Fraser and Caff are simply not up to the SPL. They would be pretty average players in the SFL. McGuire has looked OK at home - but the league table doesn't lie. We're conceding far too many goals. Something has to change at the back - we can't keep on just hoping everything will 'come good'.
