  1. Has nobody thought of the possibility that tonights unusual starting 11 might have something to do with the fact that we're playing 5 games in 14 days and that perhaps the manager is rotating accordingly?
  2. I can see him becoming the new TCS 'cult hero'.
  3. He usually causes havoc if we take him on against tiring defeners with 15 minutes to go when we're pressing the opposition, but he isn't very effective over 90 minutes. His game is too limited.
  4. Why not? They're a well organized outfit with smart, motivated guys at the helm and a growing, enthusiastic fan base. Just compare their websites http://www.spanglefish.com/invernesscity/ http://www.freewebs.com/clachnacuddinfc/ Which is more professional? Clach are a joke - their finances tell you everything you need to know. They're going nowhere, in contrast to City who could grow into a force to be reckoned with if given the chance.
  5. Did anybody here go to see Mauro Picotto at 'Party in the Park'? What a fiasco that was :rolleyes02: If Clach can't hack it then Inverness City are waiting in the wings to take their place. I'd love to see them in the Highland league.
  6. Fair enough he gets stuck in and he does a job, but half of the time he wouldn't look out of place in the SFL. The players deserve a pay rise but that should be based on individual merit, not on 'levelling things out'. Communism doesn't work.
  7. Davies, McGhee, Burley :crazy07: Levein, Jordan :003: Souness, Burns, Collins :009: Calderwood :008:
  8. I completely disagree with that. Most of the things people are complaining about on this thread are frivolous compared to the anti social behaviour / hooliganism that used to be endemic in British football until fairly recently. You're probably more likely to be assaulted by a steward than by an opposition fan these days. I also take umrbidge at the casual way that some people slur Old Firm fans as if they're a homogenous rabble of walking stereotypes. In doing so you're commiting the same form of blanket group prejudice that you accuse them of.
  9. When McGuire returns I'd love to see us put Proctor at right back and Tokely further up the pitch. He's the most penetrating player we have. He beats his man more often than anyone else, plus his sheer physical presence causes problems and draws defenders towards him, opening up space for others.
  10. I couldn't care less about the Rangers fans in the home end. Anybody who was 'offended' when they cheered Rangers goals needs to get a life. Most of those Rangers fans travel hundreds of miles to support their team every week - should they be locked out to make way for the thousands of 'part time' home supporters who only emerge when we play the OF? I don't think so. It's not like they choose to sit in the home end, they just take any tickets they can get their hands on. It's understandable - wouldn't you do the same if you were in their situation? The police were right to leave them be.
  11. We still need a keeper, assuming Malkowski's going back to Hibs. And a big, commanding centre half should be the other priority, there must be a few of them knocking around in the lower divisions. Perhaps our eastern european scouting network is ready to bear some fruit?
  12. It's clearly an anti-catholic conspiracy. :024:
  13. We should let him take the penalties to get his goalscoring tally up.
  14. Finally we have a manager who knows how to negotiate. I'm sick of us losing our best players for a tuppence, especially to rival clubs who routinely finish below us. It's so ridiculous that the likes of Hibs and Aberdeen, even Falkirk and St Mirren will demand 7 figure sums before they will sell a good player - yet they expect us to sell players of similar quality for pathetic 5 figure sums. Why should a good SPL player for ICT be 100 times less valuable than a good SPL player for any of them? Allowing ourselves to be shafted like this will only encourage more of the same.
  15. Charlie King for Livi, in the title decider where we decided to give them a 4-0 head start before we actually started to play, just to give them a chance. :tic01:
  16. He didn't decide to move to a bigger club as he suggests, he couldn't get a game here and didn't have his contract renewed. Killy gave him a chance like we did when they released Dargo. He's obviously better at spinning the truth than he is at spinning past defenders. Shame it didn't work out for him at TCS, I thought he was going to go on to become one of our best players when he first arrived. He was just unlucky that we have so many good left sided midfielders.
  17. I never really rated him, he was far too inconsistant. Zander Sutherland is already a far better player IMHO and will only improve when he finally gets a run in the first team.
  18. When he starts he causes ripples, he should be in the dugout :clapping03:
  19. 100% correct! He completely sells himself and makes it easy. He should be reading the strikers run up to see where the balls going to go before he commits himself - rather than allowing the striker to read him and slot it in the other side.
  20. His analysis of the game was nothing short of absurd and it got a deserved roasting from the radio pundits. Not since the days of Tom Hendrie's St Mirren have I heard such sour grapes. If (when more like) he gets sacked by Celtic he should re-train as a criminal defense lawyer.
  21. A completely deserved 3 points today, and if anything it could have been even better. Pressley should have walked, his last ditch, last man offence was even more clear cut than Proctors - a classic example of double standards :33: McGeady should also have walked for clearly kicking an ICT player off the ball in full view of the referee, the linesman and the fourth official :014: In the spell before Proctors red we were on top and looked the more likely to score. If we'd gone 4-2 up the floodgates would have opened. We were all over them at times. Even with the ten men we had great chances, Bazzas fluffed sitter was a real sickener. But it didn't matter! Proctor was definatly my MOTM today, brilliant defending, brilliant control of the ball and distribution under pressure and an awesome headed goal against defenders twice his size! And well done for 'taking one for the team' possibly even sacrificing his run at right back (if Tokely does well next week) to stop Celtic scoring after McGuires howler - top class! :clapping03: Niculae ran him close, his use of the ball was world class at times and really took the pressure off us. Every player got at least 8 out of 10 in my book apart from McGuire whose carelessness got Proctor sent off and almost cost us dearly a couple of times - although he made alot of good headed clearances when we were under the cosh and made an excellent goal saving block on the line after Fraser flapped a cross straight to a Celtic jersey. I think he probably has the potential to replace Dods if we iron out the rough edges in his game. How on earth did Celtic manage to beat Man Utd and AC Milan????? McManus and Scott Brown (world class???) were absolutly shocking!! All of the hype Broon's received seems to have got to him, his heads up his @rse. I loved it when Russel Duncan feigned that he was going to nail him, then started patting his face and grinning - he didn't like that one bit! What a game, what a result! Not since the Pele Paterson era have we audaciously plucked victory from the jaws of defeat like that - Keep it up and we'll be on course for our best season ever after our worst start ever - Brewster is the man!!!
  22. Agree with most of whats already been said but McBain certainly doesn't deserve 2 stars :32: he had a sound game. Hibs barely created anything down the right hand side in large part due to his tireless covering and pressing throughout the 90 minutes, and he combined pretty well with Hastings going forward on a few occasions. Rankin had his best game ever, he had a hat-trick of near misses. His shot from the centre circle only looked inches away from where I was sitting. 5 stars richly deserved. MF also had a 5 star performance. That's 3 clean sheets in a row, who would have predicted that a few weeks back?! He's had some performances this season where you'd be forgiven for thinking that he was 'out of his box' - today it was the Hibs no 1 (as usual) who was LITERALLY out of his box with the ball in his hands on at least 4 occasions. :024: We were so dominant towards the end it was like shooting practice, our fitness levels must have improved because at the start of the season we were hanging on for dear life in the closing stages. Our first game without Park was a stroll in the park. The participants in the Flybe half time challenge have scored more goals up here than Hibs. How can they be so good against the old firm and so bad against us? Who cares. :tic01:
  23. He seemed to be singled out for some rough treatment by the Hibees today but didn't rise to it. The old Blackie would have gotten at least a booking today. It's been a while since he was mental, but for much of the ensuing period he wasn't playing very well, he'd lost the intensity that he had when he first burst onto the scene - a case of throwing out the baby with the bathwater perhaps? It looks like he's finally found the right balance.
