Well, we sure agree on that one The Eagle.

Better closely mark Ainsworth!! Some scintillating player that yin. And Vigurs who seems to have calmed down in the physical department and can thread a lovely pass through a packed defense. Boy, can that Motherwell team shift! They look fast and furious. Deadly even. Is it my imagination, but our team are talented and can play nice tippy-tappy-football but are they as frenetic and sharp as the likes of Motherwell. Maybe there has been a little bit of a loss of confidence since the changeover and also do I detect a little bit of sitting back and thinking that they don't quite have to work as hard as possible and just not quite displa9ing that sense of urgency that BOTH Hearts and Hibs showed in their highlights. Their match was a fantastic exhibition of speed, skill and endeavour and had everything. Comparing this and some of the other matches over the last few days I don't think that there are many matches in England that can compare. There is nothing like a pulsating Scottish match. Hibernian are now fighting like crazy and are playing some fast and also furious football. Butcher is instilling some belief in themselves it seems.

:crazy:Dougal, gotta watch your step. You might become the resident sage now that you area attracting "likes" . Gosh, golly , you are almost w8ise at times.....
-
Bughtmaster-- I agree with your comment in agreement with Dougal and that's why I gave Dougal a "like".
-
Bughtmaster--sounds as if by the time you get the bottle consumed midway you won't know whether it is half full or half empty. Happy holiday!

I am not saying anything. The last one I tried I got ICT's score right -- 3 goals-- but the one I awarded to Aberdeen was eclipsed by their scoring 4...ulp? Now it's' ..better safe than sorry.

Old Caley Girl--so one poster likes my comment and one doesn't. J.Hughes broke-off from D Balfour when Stokes walked by to engage in lovey-doveys and D Balfour was forgotten and forlorn with a cheerful, but probably somewhat embarrassed smile, on his face. And, unless you asked D. B. yourself what he felt, you don't actually know whether he enjoyed it or not, really, do you? For your information I enjoyed it too except that it was not the time or the place IMHO. Perhaps you miss the point. He had plenty of time later to have chats or kissing and cuddling with Stokes and I was looking at the video to find out what our new Manager thought about the game and not to see him leave his interviewer in the lurch in order to exchange pleasantries with a player from the team that just BEAT us. I'm just an old fuddy-duddy but I think that it was bad manners towards his interviewer and to the video viewer and it did, apparently, show that to him chummy chats with old acquaintances might just be more important than advising the fans of his own opinions on the match...

Interesting post, Bauhaus. It's like your user name--is it German perchance?
-
Back-passing footie--yes, it's .......very passé isn't it? As previously mentioned, I detest it myself 'cos the opposing goal is at the other end of the park.

Well done !

So, do fans think that ICT's success to date is nothing more than a blip on the horizon? You know what I think is a very good antidote to apathy--Summer football.!
-
Doofer--you are right. There is nothing more frustrating than a team ambling around and passing backwards to the goalie or sideways to the other back when the opposition goal is at the other end of the park. I have seen this comment recently from other posters and this is exactly what I hated about the Whitecaps when they seemed to be going somewhere. When you see this you know what is happening --they are avoiding their responsibility and confidence is sagging. The only place the Vancouver team went was out of the playoffs before they even got there and Martin Rennie, their Manager from Golspie, got the sack. The team must face forward and drive on with urgency and obviously be thirsty to get into the opposing team's half. IMHO.
-
Dougall --what the other posters are saying is simply that , even if all you say is/was correct, why say it if it's negative? You have a choice: either post negativity which is depressing and inflammatory..... or.... positivity which is uplifting and contributes to camaraderie and a feeling of wholesome-ness, goodwill to all men and promotes solidarity. So, in the new Year ... be nice.

I noticed the crowd at the Celtic match was over 6.000. encouraging , yes, but not yet spectacular for an important match like that. Stil, the Hibees had a better crowd--over 9,000 so they are attracting more attention, especially with results starting to go their way. Frankly I hope they come back because their crowd capacity is up in the 20,000 mark. And the Dons had a pretty good crowd also--11,000 was it? As for the County match I suppose it will be jam packed . Thoughts?

John Hughes and Stokes? Is that the same Stokes that he broke off his interview (with Ian Auld?) Saturday to rush over and exchange hugs with. Called him a big doughnut in a very friendly way...ha! ha! John--just a wee tip if I may. In the middle of an interview I am sure you could leave the pleasantries with a player on the oppposite side of the bed until after you have finished...eh? You are the Manager now old chap not a pal player, and I am sure Ian was ...dumbfounded.

Rainbow, you sure keep up with things. Must be a long telescope you use from the Swiss border ? Without having seen the players in action over an extended period I find it very difficult to rate their average performance, let alone know what position they would slot into. And, of course, if you think that you have slotted the player into his ideal position what happens next depends on who you select for the adjacent slots as well and how they all support or interact with one another .

Brown should stop his shenanigans and settle down to being what he is, a hard, clever player.
-
CH2--So what have you achieved by depositing all this anger, vitriol and negativity into our laps at this exact time of year? You refer to yourself as a true friend of the team but, in your view, his sole mission and the way he goes about it surely going to destroy it. What would you say if one of YOUR star candidates spoke the words that Mr Hughes has spoken and then failed? The problem with your attitude is that you don't believe that he is sincere. Well, I do. What would you prefer? That he took a stapler and clipped his lips together and said nothing? By attempting to undermine the Manager before he has even had the opportunity to firmly get his feet under the table, you are far from a true friend and supporter of ICT. What a ridiculous post!

Ligaments? Oh Oh! Better make sure he listens carefully to the Doctors.

Unless you have already acted on this, a note of appreciation sent to the Chairman would be a very nice gesture and would be very encouraging. People and businesses like feedback from constructive customers...

Hey, I like the mention of Christie showing up on the front lines but maybe as a sub first, eh, Renegade? Find his feet, like. But not from the word go. Let's wait until the other team is tiring and, hopefully we are ahead. Then Christie can relax a bit more, work on his flair and his confidence... Just a thought.

If John Hughes was forced to change the team and tictacs then it appears that that was a blessing in disguise. He's a completely different type of person to T Butcher and eventually, anyway, he had to stamp his authority on the team and Caley Thistle's game. So now he has and, from all accounts, what a change? Even if the energy came from an arousing rally of encouraging speech isn't that why he was hired? This, actually, could be the turning point in the break from Butcher which I strongly feel was a good thing for this club and it allowed for the Management to introduce new thinking, new character in a new character and set the club up for greater success. Under Butcher, that swas an uncertain future occurrence because his heart never lay in the highlands but did lie in his own advancement first-off and he was bound to leave "any time soon" be it for Barnsley or the Bucharest Boogie-Woogie Bachles. Now the door has opened to let in the fresh air just watch this team go......

What was the crowd? Can't find the number anywhere?

I found a dead crow lying in a box in my garage a couple of days ago. If I sent him over on a Canada Goose (them thar guys can surely fly, Wilbur) would youse consent to a ceremonial burial at the half-way line at Pitter Patter Park and Mr C.Goose could fertilise the grass in exchange That is a function at which they are very good indeed here on the West coast of Canada. By the way, if he comes at you with intent, my advice is to skeedaddle . Them thar critters are dynamite with their wings and can break your arm if you get too close.
