  1. Whew! Hope the players' wages can be found to allow for the season to complete. Best way out. No relegation worries for ICT (hopefully), players get paid, Gretna exits with grace, rules probably get changed and everyone heaves a great sigh of relief. :016:
  2. The one and only thing that I strongly deprecate about IHE is his spelling. Anyone who is a somebody knows that bollicks is spelt bowlocks. :002:
  3. Wait a minute here. There is something very unfair about this. It has also been and still is about the good little'un making good -- or the minnow in a large pool of bigger fish trying hard to get a leg up in life. That was where the fun and the uplifting of the spirit happened. Now what on earth is wrong with that? As has been said before, Caley and Thistle were small clubs at one time and a joust with a "big" club from the former first Division in Scotland was in former times a "romantic adventure" and , at worst, a glorious chance to make a name for themselves and a pile of money. And when they failed to win the Scottish Cup in the past did anyone say '''oh, jeez, why did we ever let such poor teams into this classy arena"? It is far too simplistic now to trot out the convenient platitudes about Gretna never having been a serious contender for SPL longevity and currently a non-contributor and a basic pain in the bottom to have in the SPL? Oh Really? Well, there but for the grace of God go I it may be said of quite a few other current SPL clubs. There is surely more than an element of hypocrisy here where the occurrence of misadventure becomes a major crime and where the unfortunate upon whom this has fallen automatically becomes the butt of scathing denunciation and opprobrium. Hindsight is very nice to have is it not? And even if Mileson bankrolled the club to success so what? Are they the only club that has ever arisen from obscurity to be successful because of the backing of powerful individuals who, themselves, had a dream? Are we all now so cynical about the necessity to have money or the lure of money to have lost all genuine admiration for any person who dares to use the resources at his or her disposal to further the ambitions attendant upon a dream? What if Gretna had actually not ended up bottom of the SPL like ICT may have done at any time in the last few years? Would they have attracted praise instead just because the vagaries of life and the twists and turns of the game allowed them to be one single place above another team--a "break" perhaps which might have lead them on to greatness in the future? You make up your own mind but I think it is a sadder tale than just a reason to crow or sneer?

TMFTJob @@#4%$$$^&****@#$*****?@%%$!++*%%%##$~~~~||$^&& !!!!!! I am going to send you a diplomatic note... :blah01:
  5. Wyness Legend--if I thought that you were serious then I would be serious-ly concerned. Otherwise what you say is bowlocks--that's the same as rowlocks on a boat except that they are at the back.. :002: And what you have just said is a whine against IHE.. go figure. :011: which in turn has depressed my spirits. IHE frequently tries to lift all our spirits by penning imaginative challenging OPINIONS (not whines) , highly artistic meritorious, critically-acclaimed, supremely funny pictures. These evidence a person of great tutored merit, different mentality and a loyal caring fan....... Now back to the pipe and slippers and my Jack Daniels whusky since it is my birthday today--Do not ask how old is this Scarified Pimple -- old enough tae be yer faither W.L so be nice and behave yersel......eh? :001: :cdn:

Yes 100 pounds for a top is incredible. My dentist charged me about 75 pounds to remove a tooth last year (half an hour--poor boy he had to struggle s-o-oo hard)so I am sure I could have had the chipped one filled :016: for at least 100 quid. LOL
  7. IHE has been remarkably quiet of late :sillywave: to IHE
  8. The reality is that Mr Brewster is always going to find something praiseworthy about any team on the day, regardless . That's his job as he sees it. He gets well paid though but what a thankless task week in week out..... Best just to ignore most of what he says and form your own impression of the performance, otherwise it's bound to be "same old, same old". One thing about Craig, however, is that his fluency of talk has improved -relaxing more leading to greater confidence obviously. :004:
  9. Reliably informed--well there is always IHE... :016:
  10. The core is about the money :011:
  11. OOH what a lovely lad. He has hair. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EE ba goom!. LOL :015:
  12. Rory--biggest man on the park was he? Might as well give him his second chance --everything else is stale as heck it seems. :016:
  13. Hart--give him a chance. At least he surely would inject determination into the squad. Or run out of h(e)art in this team at this time I .....wonder? :rolleyes02:
  14. Listened from afar but Inearly fell asleep it sounded so depressing. I got a feeling that the team spirit and buoyancy is under great strain. Unless the Hearts have had an unexpected revelation.? :023:

    Johnboy--how do you know? :011:
  16. :cdn: :tongue04:
  17. You have been on about these rumours before Scotty and Scarlet is hotching to find out what this is all about but there sure seems something afoot that is stopping a free flow of energy in the team. Not only is it disappointing but also alarming-where do we go from here.? Is it lack of spirit, lack of cohesion, poor tactics, wilful players not wanting to work or play for each other or what other dark forces are at work? :024:
  18. Well, well, both the ICT game and the Gretna game are now being broadcast. So see you later maybe. BBC--- :sillywave: :clapping03:
  19. Same here in Vancouver, Canada--only I tried both the ICT V Dundee United and the Gretna games but both are blocked (apparently). The BBC chooses to state against one game that the match is unavailable and on another says nothing. But both always seem to be blocked. Since, as Scotty says, the ICT game was supposed to have been broadcast, frankly it's virtually impossible nowadays for an overseas listener to know at any time whether any game is being broadcast or not.So you take your chances and I got up at 5 a.m this morning just in case it was on at 1400 hrs. And, as Scotty also says, the game may not be too thrilling but for us overseas it is the only weekly thrill we can access. I think I will have to get "into touch" with Mr Smith again. I also noticed that the Sportsound page says that the game started at 1500 hrs whereas another of the BBC Sports pages stated that it was to start at 1400 hrs. Did you say you are listening to the Gretna game--how? :029: :cdn:
  20. "nuff said. Give him half a chance and he will turn out to be a winner in a blue jersey. :021:
  21. Good luck to Richie Hart who played hard for the club. Judge him on his football commitment --he was given a second chance and as far as I know he did not fluff it a second time. Sanctimony--right on! Remember holy-er than thou brigade---"there but for the grace of God go I". And if you have led such a perfect life that you don't remember ever having made a mistake that you know was very poor judgement on your part then I say you are unlucky because you haven't learnt that to err is human. :018:
  22. Scotty You certainly did send me the lsit of non-blocked games and I consulted this yesterday to note the St Mirren game was, apparently, NOT blocked. So I got up early to access the audio links and EVERY ONE was showing as "Unavailable to Overseas Listeners" In addition, I tested every single one of the links and not one was broadcasting any audio. However, that may be because the BBC may not click them onto the air waves until 1 minute before kick off. And there exp[anation for that is that "it takes time for us to link up all the games "... so much so, poor lads and lasses , that sometimes they can't even get started by kic -off time! Oh well, I suppose in some circles these days 80 years of broadcast experience is not quite enough .................. :dunno:
  23. In fact every single SPL game being broadcast is shown as "Not available to Overseas Listeners". And why can't they put this information on the site the previous day.? Obviously Overseas Listeners have to get up very early to tune in . I sent an email to the BBC SOME TIME AGO but they ignored it--NOT EVEN THE COURTESY OF A REPLY. :018: Charles--what is then problem with the BBC these days?
  24. Well--isn't that nice and soooo typical of the BBC these days. Sportsound says that the St Mirren game is "NOT AVAILABLE TO OVERSEAS LISTENERS" so naturally I did not tune in--up early though. Now here I am listening to the game. What IS the problem with the BBC Charles ? :029: :008:
  25. Charles There seems to be quite a few Bannermans involved with this club--Inverness City. Are they related to you? "Dangerous" Bannerman is a forward of some note in the team and Jennie is the Treasurer it seems. Haven't dug any deeper but maybe there is a connection with you, even distant? Just asking :016: Hoch! Hoch!
