Strachan's " Inverness Caley ....can't believing that they have won a a game of football" was a very sour-grapes, tactlesss, insult. He certainly does not understand how to win friends and influence people. And hopefully his board will still be cringeing at and after his post- match analysis. I dont think he will be long at Parkhead unless he wins every game from now until the end of the season. :33:
  2. 12th man that was a very amusing remark...."Ariel" display supported by "Crouching Dragon". That was quite a film wasn't it with people running up walls as if they were flat roadways. :021: Very apt comment 12th man. The only eyebrow raiser was why you did not type it all in Ariel format instead of Hard Times New Roman. :023:
  3. Right on that ex-pat in Canada. :clapping03:

Miss Cuthbert was a diminutive wee cutie. And she liked Mr MacPherson too! I saw it in her body language when he came thundering around with his cape flying, his tackety brogues a thumping and his 6 foot 3 manly frame giving her the shivers. His fine head of sleekit hair did nothing to undermine his appeal . She was nice to me giving me the accolade of being first in the class at the end of the 5th year so I liked her quite a lot until she made the class titter by referring to me as a cockerel--must have been something about the way my hairstyle caught her attention I suppose or maybe it was just plain ole lust . All us young boys have all these dreams don't we. :015: She was on a par with Miss Goodsir the Geography teacher.who also had prominent female charms but I am not absolutely certain that her teaching style measured up since she seemed a little shy, forby. And thank you Scotty for allowing an older man to digress and reminisce about the good old days. Keeps us healthy doesn't it Charles? :003:
  5. The club must start in true entrepreneurial spirit by innovative marketing. What about the simple one to start with: First three consecutive games at full price and the fourth consecutive game at 40% off (equivalent to 10% per game) Or First four consecutive games at standard price and the fifth at 75% off (equivalent to 15% off per game). I worked a scheme like this in my business and it worked very well. After I had hooked a barrowload of clients I stopped worrying about the discounts since I had steady income that was my bread and butter; the discounts were viewed correctly as the cost of doing business and it certainly built up a core of loyal clients even if the loyalty was based as much on the reduced prices as their love for me. Whatever the club chooses to do it must be shown to be innovative, customer orientated and give real value back to the customer for their loyalty and support. :rolleyes02: S>P>
  6. Aye and Niculae-- Romanian is close to Polish is it not? And if not then no one can say Niculae is not a POLIShed player can they? Hoch! Hoch! :015:
  7. Setanta can be added to the Cable bill--for a big PRICE. The question is , as always, would it be worth it since there is no guarantee that you would see ICT more than once a season? I would much rather GIVE MY MONEY TO THE CLUB. :crazy07: Scotty is right about the Media rights.--time for all of us overseas posters to form a united front and start putting pressure of the ICT Board to help us out---fer heaven's sake. C'mon the Board, shake a leg and put in a subscription-based video link. Here is my cheque right now so what arey you---and we--- waiting for?--fer heaven's sake. :029:

  9. What makes the difference is fitness and spirit. So, whoever comes in, they must tie in to that ethic to succeed. If they are lazy they will require to change attitude or languish under Brewster (at least I think this ) on the bench or worse. :rolleyes02:
  10. No snow here in Western Canada--just normal weather--rain. Not too cold though, the snow and ice and floods have mostly gone. Scotty I was up at 5a.m. to listen to this match so I am in complete empathy with your remarks. The ICT Board must be thinking.."why provide a service for overseas listeners, there is no money in it for us?" I can't help wondering why it is that when you leave home for foreign shores, sometimes for reasons beyond your own control, you become something akin to a pariah. Example" The British Government is the only Government in the world that does not annually uprate ex-patriates' overseas penioners' monthly pittance for inflation if you live in an ex-commonwealth country. Meaning? That some older pensioners are living on five pounds a week in Toronto! Well that's half-time over so now what --back to bed or stick around.? -think the latter is the preferred option---better half a loaf than none at all....eh? :023:
  11. Blocked is the word. The BBC are putting out an online text messaging of the match as it develops --accessed from the BBC Sportsound site and this is updated every few minutes, but reading this can be tiresome. At least the scoreline is now mire respectable. Maybe ICT can claw their way back into the game.... :017:
  12. Beware of the Ides of March and CMIB--he is as sharp as a tack. :002:
  13. So he is not on the list for the Scotland Manager? :029: Yet? :016:
  14. All noted Caley D. Thanks for that! S.P. :003:
  15. Have I missed something? But where is Robbo these days--has he landed a job in Scotland?
  16. This site is as busy as each poster wants to make it. Change for the sake of change is not always necessarily good. Iam not sure that introducing many more options will improve it --it will take up much more space and maybe the site will become just too convoluted and confusing. Current email is effective and fine for me -why get involved with Google any more than you have to ? Google is a big space drainer. If it aint broke don't fix it is a good motto always. My main goal would be to introduce anything that will speed up access to threads and one other very useful tool that I would love to be functioning would be to click on ''new posts since you last accessed the forum" and then be transported to the exact spot where you left off in each unread thread--thus avoiding having to troll through several pages of threads to find exactly the last post that you read in each thread so you can pick-up where you left off to contimnue reading that thread when you forget what day you were therebefore. Now that would be a time saver indeed, especially for those who spend a lot of time trying to read as many threads as possible. :022:

Well, you have got to hand it to Mee , always has a waspish reply (and often a very cutting and apt one), . So I am enjoying the repartee and glad that it is spat out upon others since S. P has had his share in the past...e,g. "Oh you are that old gent with the bald heid, are you?" :015: MEE and me seldom agree We often beg to differ But when the battleaxe gets her claymore oot Eh dinnae stop to banter It's easier to run like fun 'cos if she catches you it won"t be at a canter She'll hit you hard and knock yese doon And she'll mak yese wear the kilt like in Brigadoon With the intention to mak yese tak it off again real soon Aye, she's a hottie wiv a caustic mooth And a bonnie fechter tae boot So jist yese tell her yese dinna give a hoot Aboot her rabid viscious prattle Or she will melt yese and tak awa yer rattle Wha's like her ,oor Bonnie Mee Any mair o' the same and I will be forced tae leave the Caley park and aff tae see the Bully wee 'cos ah ken that even if she winds up yer girnin' guts she still loves wee old baldie Me, S.P. An as fer Sophia that sonsy spirited wean She's guid at holdin' her own,--you ken whit ah mean? She uses wirds like scythes and axes And probably is jist as guid at sending faxes A product of the puddin' race Her mind I'm sure as often as not is in outer space Teacher? Aye and preacher maybe If she had been a male ,then as well a flipping fiery fellow Jist holding forth with great glee and more than once a saucy bellow Quite a challenge and quite a handful But dinna worry, as she flirts wiv age she will no doubt mellow From twenty tae thirty four Thats four digits and half a score And her silver tongue may be no more. "Cos she may marry Johnny Come Lightly And she will be much kinder tae all of youse But ever so lightly, and only if yer aff the booze.
  18. Fer the uninitiated the Pimple "aint tellin". :016:
  19. Well I was wondering how any player or official can just tear up their contract and leave for another club at the drop of a hat? Seems very odd. :rolleyes02: As in the case of McLeish to Brum. In his case the SFA got over a million pounds though as I recall.
  20. Buckett--I am not so well as I was 10 years ago , but still working. Next year is definitely when I retire from the grind so I have my sights on Inverness sooner or later in 2008. On different wavelengths years ago?--nah, we were just growing up thegither. Boyish enthusiasm and all that. :001: After a couple of pints with IHE we will be swearing undying love and affectation. Life is too short for anything else. :banana99:
  21. Just to avoid the possibility of being misunderstood, I did not post the comment about Brew being pleased at the more positive opinions for his benefit..more as a tacit or diplomatic admonition of the negative girners and the Brew's "Putter-Downers" on here which is frankly wearing me out . But since his name is up there on the top of the thread I would suggest that it is just as likely that he does read them so keep up the good work and good luck Mr Brewster........ & c'mon the Caley Thistle. :030:
  22. MC must mean Master Craftsman? As for the word "sh ..te" or "sh..tey" personally speaking I am sick of it. It's a disgusting way to describe any player or any player's performance and , no , I do not mean that you don't have the right to speak or shout your opinions which is a completely different matter. But can you not do so without , as Sophia aptly puts it, "bringing the site down to the lowest common denominator". As far as I am concerned it is downright abuse and I would completely support the banning of any future poster who indulges in this kind of crap. There has been a few comments in the past about this being a family site--right on, and what a pathetic example this kind of expression is setting I must say. The number of actual posters on these threads is vastly outnumbered by those who actually read them and so it might reasonably be stated that there are many , many , more fans who choose not to post for reasons that might be connected with not wanting to identify with such attitudes and comments. This is not banter any more . Warn them and then unceremoniously ban them. What is the loss of a few posters compared to the total hits we get on here. Raise the tone and the quality please. IHE ..don't leave but why not have a word with Scotty on the QT just to clarify things. :020:

About the Yngwie versus Johnboy spat about Rory being a piece of sh--te. To be fair to Yngwie I do not believe that he was referring to Rory as a piece of sh--te. Indeed I hardly think anyone in their right senses would do that or believe some other ICT fan would. So if any fan professes to believe that then he or she appears to have another agenda involved...Right? But this accusation from JB has now taken an unproductive and very nasty turn and to be quite frank it has now turned into something of a personal vendetta which is becoming very tedious indeed. Both parties have made their points and in my opinion no more should be said about it at all. Or I will use the ignore button for the first time in my life. :008: Thank you, SP
