Challenge cup-Dunfermline V St Johnstone 24/11/07--Online video
www.jalipo.com is showing the video live for this match on Saturday 24 November for anyone who is an overseas rabid fan of either team. They have advised me that they do not currently show SPL matches but have not ruled out the possibility that they will in the future. You buy credits for a small payment, no software to download, easy access. You do need broadband, the faster the better. Acess is 10 minutes prior to kick off. Check out the website for further details. Cheers] S.P. :022:

Ovcerseas Fans once again excluded from the Scotland Versus Italy match
My spys have told me what they think your link is, Maimie--if it is the one L-F it is very dodgy indeed.--they link you to numerous other sites who are supposed to allow you to run the videos. But a year ago I could not find one single site which actually did! I am sticking with www.jalipo.com--kinda classy looking site, good video, thorough Q & A sets, modestly priced @ $3 per hour for 1000kbs high bandwidth and easy to access but you do need Broadband. And you do not have to download anything--just ensure you have enough credits to cover , say, 2 hours then press click and you are off. A further report to follow after the gemme. Thanks to all--I have noted down these lionks and will follow up later. 6 p.m. here in Western Canada--only 15 hours to go and my stomach is already tightening with excitement LOL. I keep the knee tremblers for other sporting activities though.. :016:

Ovcerseas Fans once again excluded from the Scotland Versus Italy match
TLN is The Latino Network I think--serie A Italian soccer in Italian but the website is in English. Setanta is not showing the Scotland V Italy match. But they are showing the Norway v Turkey match--believe it. TSN is not showing this match.( The Canadian Sports Network) who are showing Nascar racing all day apparently. The digital channels available here are not supplied by Shaw Cable which is the principal distributor of TV etc in Vancouver unless you pay a lot extra. Setanta Sports can be supplied by Shaw cable as an extra provided I sign up @ $15 per month and pay $55 to buy the box. Probably the same in Toronto ...eh? So, moving on, link by link, I have found www.jalipo.com which is video in different bandwidths from 250kb (poorish) up to 1,000kb (good) and you buy credits in $5 for 1 hour. The higher the bandwidth the more money you pay but NOT excessively... well worth it.This looks like a good deal .I have run the preview and it seems to be as good as I have seen in the past.No Stuttering, stops etc. I am going for it Scotty and i HAVE SENT YOU THE LINK BY EMAIL. Thank you very much for your input. To other overseas posters :-- this service is NOT available in U.K., Ireland, China,Puerto Rica and the U.S. A.. Maybe Setanta has sewn all the rights up or something.

IHE--your comments this time are cloaked in mystery--that's why you got the attention of the Pimple Organisation with your veiled references to what you are about to reveal as the main reason for this thread. Of course we know as much as you do but a spy never reveals his sources and...besides... we want you to have the thunder :002: But c'mon, slip us all a few clues and I will not say a word unless you are wrong. Let's see how many ounters can guess the truth....? Over to you dear lad... :cool04: :clapping02:

Ovcerseas Fans once again excluded from the Scotland Versus Italy match
Yes, folks, Although Hampden Park will be full to the brim and no doubt every T.V. set between Vancouver and Rome will be brimming with goggle-eyed fans we poor overseas punters will be languishing in misery without even an online audio broadcast. Money rules . :008: Looks like I will have to bite the bullet, join the Rangers Supporters Club in Vancouver , rush downtown on a two hour rain-soaked car journey to their favourite Setanta local Pub and stand outside, looking in through the windows at the milling mob inside, trying to catch a glimpse of James McFadden in full flight. Not a chance! I will, telephone every local pub here in town to see if there is one with a TV tuned to this match. However, it is a very long shot. Thinks, maybe not if I try Little Italy on Commercial Drive, Vancouver, or the Italian Cultural Centre- and hope and pray that they have heard of Setanta.-I could slip in with a Caley Thistle blue shirt on and hope that most of the clients are so blotto that they won't notice the logo :003: If not , it's the ICT chat room for me, nothing else for it. Sigh--what are you going to do, all the rest of you expatriates in Canada, U.S. of A., South America, Australia , China, and all points East of here .? :confused01:

Is Brew still the right man for the job?
This thread and maybe this Forum is beginning to sound a little like what is happening with the team--seems to be falling apart rather than being cohesive. People getting too personal and nasty, pseudo swearing and so on. Let's have some civility please. To point out what you perceive to be a fault or as something that needs to be improved is a positive comment, not a negative one. But just to girn simply because you are disappointed in the way things have gone to date and then keep on girning for the sake of it to somehow assuage your own negative feelings is a pain in the Irish. I think the fact that Brewster seems to be better on the park and has a recognised excellent football brain will always be too much of a contrast to his pedantic, often stumbling, after-match interviews and the related perception that he is a poorer Manager than he is a player. But why not now just give the guy a break for a couple of months more? C,monnnnnnn. :029:

Marius Niculae
So, SP was 3/4 asleep when listening to the commentary--surprise, surprise. Even a Pimple needs a snooze now and then.. :002: Eh was just asking, anyway, sniff .. :011: But if eh got it wrong as to the exact player on the receiving end of the round leather ball..well, ....er........what did Marius do with it after he passed it to another player who then allegedly passed it back to him and ...... like, did he pass it again, surge forward with great and determined intent or ...eat it? Just asking? P.S. Thanks Sofia, you are a tonic . :notworthy02: P.S. I hope the guy scores soon and maybe this thread could be replaced with one about honeysuckle roses appearing mysteriously in a jam jar in the Chief Executive's suite .......eh?
-
Marius Niculae
The commentator online today a few minutes from the end said.." Niculae has the ball, he has only two players in front of him (to beat). Oh he has passed it (sideways). He has avoided responsibility. He passed the buck". My question is for those at the game--is this a disturbing feature of his game now? I mean,if the commentator ws right in this situation today what on earth would he have to lose by taking on these two guys--with his skill he had an even chance of beating them--and at least having an go at goal? After all he was hired as a striker so what is stopping him from trying to strike. Fear of failure? Sorry I don't get it Comments?

Managerial Question
TMFTJ--I know, I know, but one must say something controversial just to keep the thread interesting.... :016: And you have to admit he is a more animated speaker on the radio than another Manager we know . Spirited guy..eh? :symbol_question:

Brew or Robbo which do you prefer
I think that the first time around, on the park Brew did inspire a few players with his own presence and displays. A stabilising influence and something to emulate (i.e strive for) . But for the players to master his attitude, techniques and experience overnight was a tall order. With Brew now seemingly getting the message that he should concentrate on the Manager's side of things he can only rely on his own tactics working with the current team. And unless he steadies the defence nothing may work satisfactorily anyway.
-
Brew or Robbo which do you prefer
Now, with due hindsight in your foresight which Manager do you thgink would be best, better, for ICT if you had the choice right now? Who woudlyou pick. From my limited knowledge of Mr Robertson 's past perhaps he would make a better Manager than Brew whereas Brew may well still have it in him to be the top inspiring player we all know he can bee. By the way, I did hobnob once with the son of Tommy Walker of past Hearts fame . He worked with me in Edinburgh in my dim past.Is that importan LOL ? Anybody remember or know Tommy Walker senior? A legend to match Robbo I will warrant.

Gretna--Rowan Alexander finally gets his settlement
Well, in view of the time that he has hollered for one and waited for recognition for all his efforts one would imagine that he got a full settlement of his contract remuneration after being canned a few moments ago wouldn't you? He was burnt out, his boss was sick almost to death. Whew? Gretna may be a jinxed place to be. Hope Davie Irons can at least get them going. :024:
-
Managerial Question
Or should Management go for Jimmy Calderwood? I must say I like Jimmy for his always perky comments and I don't think he would be too worried about Brew's downfall do yew's? This guy is quite a character and often very amusing. Got soirit that's for sure. he you listen to Craig you find he is a different character all together, and as Eric Idle used to say..."say no more, say no more". :001:
-
Managerial Question
If Rowan Alexander can get the can at Gretna after winning the lower divisions and winning promotion to the SPL for Gretna whose job is actually safe? To surmise, going forward, what if Brew starts to stagnate bigtime and the team continues to roll in the lower quagmire do you think that his backers in the top tent would waste a lot of time keeping him on or would they approach John Robertson in the Green-Land with a view to Robbo coming back in the "all is forgiven" mode ? And would anyone think that Robbo would seriously consider it? Personally speaking I think he would jump at it.......... :023: Shall I get Agent Orange to start making inquiries ? :cool02:

FINALLY, A CORRECT DECISION BY THE CLUB. THEREFORE A HARTY VOTE OF THANKS TO ALL AND SUNDRY. :clapping03:

RadioWatch ....
This is a good summary of what is available to us overseas listeners --i.e. generally speaking virtually nothing. I am not surprised that you got no answer from the Management at ICT Scotty. This generally means that they think you are a nuisance and don't want to talk to you --looks like Canadian attitudes to responses have moved over the Atlantic.; i.e rudeness and discourtesy is a growing trend. Yu would imagine that honesty would be the best approachhere and just say "Sorry , but we just don't wnat to spend the money". Some time ago I also contacted the Supporters club asking whether they got the 25 pounds for the lottery tickets I had purchased but did not get an answer either not to mention the letter I also sent to the same Supporters club asking , after some two months, if and when they were going to cash my membership cheque. Streuth !they must be rolling in funds. As for the radio brodcasts I am going to also write to ICT and will advise whether my missive also gets ignored. Meantime I do even listen to the games that DO actually come through online (the last St Mirren game) mostly to keep in touch with what is going on with ICT , e.g up to date score line, half-time commentary.. etc. But , like you, Scotty this getting to be too much effort since I generally need to fall out of bed at 6.30 a.m in order to have my wake-up coffee before kick-off at 7a.m. local time and I have no intention of lying on my foamy in my dressing gown with the headphones on for much longer just for past tense football.

Brewster in perspective.
David Beckham will be in Vancouver within a week or so --shall I ask him what has happened to the play of R H to attract such negative comments as have been on here in the last few weeks? How can a player be so allegedly off the pace when not so long ago he was quoted as being stable and consistent? But then again the same comments have been apllied to other former "heros" so .....where is the problem coming from ? :026:
-
Richie.......
Mrs Pauliebee you make a good point. Unless of course the club feels that employment with ICT means that they have the right to rule your life in all it's public and private parts amd methinks we have not yet quite reached that stage in society yet despite thousands of cameras on posts in the streets of London etc. Governments and "Authorities" poke their noses into far too many aspects of your life from the Birth Certificate demanded upon entry to the death certificate upon exit and more often than not their hand is going into your pocket at the same time. But if they do they might be on very sticky ground. Mr Hart is a young man , not an oldie but Goodie like Jock Watt or the S.P. and some other folks on here. And he does not have the benefit of the years of experience with which we have become endowed. Not to mention the pain resulting from our stupid decisions and past mistakes. So if they do not offer help in the way of rehabilitation and a second chance with conditions I will feel that they are making the wrong decision. :029:

Apportioning the blame ?
More to the point what the heck can be done about it? Sounds like the defence is lacking in confidence. Hastings was great in the last season or two was he not so how does he turn into a fumbler overnight? I submit because they are all getting scared of making a mistake and the confidence in EACH OTHER is slipping. In the past few exciting years the ICT defence has held it all together and shut up shop mostly but now why are so many penalties being thrown away? From afar it seems that the defence is literally all at sea--or at least well on the way to the harbour. If it is the loss of Dods then the club had better get a real solid pro in by January or thi is going to be a sad season. Just asking? :016: :012:

Get the long knives out
O.K. so I lost that post--must have been the Smileys ; always someone else to blame isn't it. Sigh--anyway Clacher please elucidate on your dark and mystic comments about the corridors of power. Sounds like a matter for the Pimpernel Organisation..,Hoch, Hoch! :sillywave:

Brewster in perspective.
He is the best we have at the moment and he certainly has a wealth of background experience. So far so good, al things considered. Like Marius I think that we should give both of them a fair chance and try to keeop the negativity down to a minimum. It's early days anyway and if the slow but sure progress motto is still the way to go why noot just keep on cheering the team and SUPPORT them-----SUPPORTERS of the name. :rolleyes02:

Livingston Caledonian Thistle
Those who decry Gretna's rise forget the trials and tribulations of ICT. A cheer for a minnow who made it regardless of who paid the bill. What the **** are all these leagues for anyway unless there is a golden rainbow at the end of it for someone with the vision and courage to dream amd try and try and try. And in the process Miles nearly died--remember that. He was so sick at the last game of the season prior to their triumphant entry into the SPL that he could hardly drag one foot after the other and looked at death's door. I salute you Miles, you had a dream and put your money where your mouth was and it is as clear as a pikestaff that the man loves the game and his club. Stop laughing at this club because there but for the grace of God go I ! :020:
