New Manager
Don't be so sure that Warnock would go soon after arriving. I say send the Cessna down to wherever he is and strong-arm him onto the plane. And enjoy the ride. !! I am jealous of CaleyD 's brains and common sense but I just loved his post so...... praise where praise is due, sigh. :012: :004:

Brewster Vs Warnock
Warnock could easily move on to better things but not necessarily within two years-especially if he is successful at ICT. But you never know, a big **** on a small heap rather than the opposite ,a small **** on a big one, may prove attractive to him and he may get to love Inverness. You can speculate all you want ; careers can be short--go for it ICT :clapping03 ICT attracts headlines and controversy so Warnock could be the man. Great for putting excitement in the air for Inverness.Yesssssss! Has flair and exciting football is what the fans are paying to see --provided the team can stay in the SPL. Crowds will come back in droves. Very experienced Manager with lots of past Managerial posts in his bag, unlikely to crack under pressure. :022: Of the two others I prefer Robertson to Brewster since Robertson managed whereas Brewster's strengths were on the playing field and at his age his days must be numbered- I said days not years. The comment about Robbo leaving another team only a short while after joining it as not being a good thing is right on --unless he has an agreement in place that he can go if a bigger team came calling in which place his position in possibly accepting the ICT post is legitimate and there is no fault attributable .

who or whats to blame for our poor results?
Dods dominated! But has not been replaced adequately. The poster who said the Management had a fair bit of time to try to find a similar replacement but failed is right. And by "Management" I mean not ONLY CC but the Executives also since they should be working hand-in-glove with the Coach. I just wonder whether in fact this harmony now exists at ICT. From my vantage point Dods seemed to have stabilised the defense in addition to playing very well himself. The wheel tuned nicely because he was the hubwhich was solid and respected by the other teammates in defence. :024:

Charlie Christie resigns
Well, if true, then the best of luck Mr Christie..and thanks for everything. :011:

Niculae
So Niculae' nuances will not be understood nor anticipated by his teammates .....or.....he will have to turn in genius-like performances and deliver frequent glorious goals to win matches all on his own to remain at ICT? Nah! Gotta give him a chance to settle down , get to know the boys , get to be liked and loved by the "boys", get presented with a new comb for his locks, a new coach for his fitness, another limousine by the Management ---for starters........... Then we can decide whether maybe he is too good for our SPL and ICT ? But not yet . :029:

A plea from the heart
Guys like Ferguson of Manchester United have a real temper and have lost it on more than one occasion. But I could not see Mr Christie ever throwing a boot at any player and I get the sense that he is different in other ways from that Manager. Powder puffs can have tempers but can also be ignored whereas Managers who command respect apparently don't give a hoot what people think of them and have a determination to reach that goal that is constantly in the forefront of their mind and are prepared to go through anything, and do, to get there. These are tough S.O.B's and no mistake. When they are kicked in the teeth they get up spitting blood and just get on with it regardless and don't stand about waiting for sympathy. But , from words written that I have read in the past, Ferguson was seen by many at the clubs where he worked as a barsteward and feared by many players and he got results because of the single-minded intensity of his attitude and instilling in players the sense that woe betide them if they did not play their heart out or to the full extent of their ability. It is doubtful if he fell down crying at the stress of the job. In short he leaves the indelible impression that in terms of toughness he is a cut above the average. Like it or lump it he is , for want of a better word, a "winner". If CC is a kinder gentler man then so be it but that is not an indicator by itself that he is a failure. Nothing is ever what it seems and perhaps the worst stress that he may find galling is the fact that there may be too many fingers in his pie. Is there any question at ICT of nepotism? I find it interesting that at least one player who seems to have attracted almost universal attention from a majority of posters on here as to the alleged inadequacy of his performance was again in the team selection recently and again on the bench at St Mirren..this could simply be because the coach felt he did not have an adequate replacement but personally speaking I wonder. As for Mr Brewster I think that bringing him back would be a mistake , and no mistake, if you will pardon the pun. John Hughes of Falkirk with his passion, honesty of purpose and courageous frankness would be not a bad choice as a potential replacement in the event that CC decided to move on ----and he could bring Latapy with him :023: But then again......... the wages?

Cometh the Hour
CC must be looking for a win and to achieve this the picked players must be 100% fit because CC should be expecting a full 90 minutes full out from them. That is, all injuries healed and fully trained and up for it.. :021:

10cc has signed a 1year extension
I like IHE for being so different to other people and so in tune with my bizarre thoughts and sense of humour. His style is inimitable and his timing impeccable. It is weel known that only the most imntelligent are the most crazy..... :002: I like Johnboy for seeing through and into other posters' thoughts..smart like. But he must realise that SEERS are unique and needed and must therefore be cosseted not controlled. And it therefore pains me to read any suggestion that IHE should be urged to go on loan anywhere--holiday, perhaps, from which he can return refreshed to once more re-engage us with his winning ways , but never to depart to foreign shores from whence he may never return . And he will take HMS Sneck with him with possible terrible consequences for the team spirit. :016:

ICT Reserves
'Well--that report is SCARY and no mistake. Not a word on the performance of Watt. One of the longest reports I have ever seen. 'Well written , however, if you like intense detail by a dyed-in-the-wool 'Well supporter. Dean's hair is neatly done with his braids and little clips at the back. Got a good goal too. mmmmm :003:

NICULAE
And why does a professional footballer get so unfit that he has to constantly work like a dog week in week out to get in to the kind of shape that he is supposed to be in to prosecute his career? If he is looking a bit overweight at his age does that mean that he is not into keeping his weight under control in the off season? Or-- a party animal? Just speculating ..... :024: I am sure time alone will answer these questions.

New Defender(s) on way to Sneck??
Try Cuthbert--in action in Canada at the under 20 tournament.

Something is wrong ?
The Rangers walked away with a victory at Tulloch and St Mirren held them.....? It would be foolish to take them lightly--or any team in the SPL especially Gretna who must be fortified by the fact that they were 2 up on the Hibs recently. But at the start of this season the Scarlet Pimple had a foreboding and apprehension about this season which is unsettling but remains unspecific. I believe that the loss of Dods was greater than that of Dargo because the whole of the thrust of ICT over the past three years has come from a solid defense. And the other concern is the factor of the spirit of the team which, if eroded, can be a very negative factor. The question of complacency after three successful years, if and when it raises it's head, will be an unexpected ingredient in the mix with unpredictable results. Finally the introduction of highly-priced players with the possible unsettling effects already referred-to above can and may have changed the dynamic and temperament of the team. Which leads me back to the opening lines--this is a 50/50 situation at ICT right now . I remain apprehensive and would love to be proved wrong. :010:

MOTHERWELL V ICT
If the guy had had the ball at his feet and under close control it would have been a penalty IMHO. However, the highlights show that he had lost it before the tackle pulled him down so.......? Interesting thread this one. I also saw theTokeley patting his hands in a calming gesture after he scored and wondered why. It was as if he was saying--now don't go totally bananas here because it was nothing really, just what you would expect from me ........... :001:

Sportscene
You need Real Player (NOT the Windows Media Player which is not supported by the BBC streaming video) in order to be able to play these streaming video clips of the matches. I have no problems at all receiving them--I first found them via the BBC Sportsound website -- there are links there to the video. Actually it's great getting anything about the matches here in Canada and the Video has now been greatly upgraded by the BBC.

Sportscene
O.K. maybe I will try again. My last attempt to post here resulted in the post disappearing. Penalty--not a penalty since the Motherwell player had lost the ball completely without hope of recovery before Munro had tackled him. Perhaps not a dive exactly since Munro got his legs under him and he had to fall over. But a prety soft one none the less. BBC standards in both Sports and general News reports online are rarely checked for grammar or spelling nowadays and I deplore the former icon of excellence going downhill alongside all the other baloney in society these days. Sometimes they even miss out words so that you have to read the sentence again just to try to get the gist of what is intended. I don't blame the reporters but their reports are just not edited for correctness anymore.

Sportscene
Well, more and more often these days even the BBC news and /or Sports reports are written but not checked for spelling , grammar, etc. This does sadden me since this would not have happened in the good old days. I am not having any problem viewing the highlights of the ICT matches on the BBC Sportssound links. You DO have to have Real Player in place to view them, however, since apparently the BBC have nott yet got round toodoing a deal with Windows and do not use the latter's Media Player for broadcasting steaming video. About the penalty at Motherwell-in my view the video clearly shows that the guy had lost the ball without any chance of recovery prior to Munro hitting himso how could it be a penaty. Does that mean if a player who does not have the ball at his feet falls over a divot in the penalty box then it is now a penalty? I think the ref was very quick to give the award. Better luck nexzt week. Has anyone got some comments about the overall performance of Niculae ? :029:

Stick to your guns Scotty and don't take some of these huffing and puffing remarks too much to heart. Sit tight mun. You are doing your job and your word "goes" regardless of who disagrees with you. If it continues to get close to abusive just ignore it. You are the boss and some of these newcomers on here must learn that. :012: They are trying to goad you into doing what you consider not to be a correct course of action so don't allow this to happen. These petulant critics themselves are taking things altogether far too much to heart and are now allowing this whole issue to become a personal crusade instead of merely a jousting commentary of differing opinions. Mr McAllister is not by any stretch of imagination a kid, whether he is 20 or 30. He is probably the biggest kid I have met in a long time and when I stood beside him in Burnaby, B.C. he towered over me and he should be able to hold his own in any SPL company. However, a reporter in the Herald referred to him as " so and so substituted the industrious McAllister". That having been said I would like to learn whether there are other posters on here who agree with that comment. If so maybe he needs just a far better service to improve. And in any event good luck to the 20-year old "kid".

Hibs at it again!!
Well, well, who would have thunk it? Top marks for vision to Hibs--this site is huge. Imagine five full pitches and a synthetic pitch up to FIFA top standards for International matches. Plus the top rate facilities and all due to be in place and finished by the end of 2007. I wonder what all this is costing them? :022:

Craig Gordon going to Sunderland?
Wasn't Craig Gordon one of the rebels that angered vLADIMIR? In addition to getting his 9 million pounds it looks for once , by getting his desire to shed Mr Gordon, that Vlad will be quite happy at the end of the day--3 teams now after him. Villa to put up more money up front than Sunderland though...intriguing :014: What is really surprising that Vlad does not seem to want to keep him at any cost. You would think since he seems to be so ambitious that he would want to keep the very best players to keep him in contention. Adfter the dfefeat by the hIbs where is he really going with all his changes et all? I wonder if he has already shot his bolt .......... :symbol_question:
