  1. About the future, we still don't know what the player composition of the team for this coming season actually is. Until we do, and know who is fit and who is not and also see that the chosen ones are gelling together very nicely, I remain nervous. With two weeks to go I think that what we do know does not seem to justify becoming complacent at all. Hopeful we can be of course but only because hope springs eternal in the human breast, but now I am looking for facts. Why ? Because time just flies by........
  2. Starchief--Miller of Hibs; or formerly of Hibs perhaps. Was mentioned in the post above.
  3. Born Caley--nice one.
  4. Where is Miller THESE DAYS? WOULD HAVE PROBABLY BEEN AN EXCELLEMT ACQUISITION FOR CALEY THISTLE I WOULD HAVE SURMISED?
  5. And from me too in Canada.
  6. Is this thread about new players or is it about the humour Is this one a finished article or will he be a late bloomer? Or maybe the locker room laffer or perhaps the on-field stumour. Is this theme about newbies and if so what's the latest rumour 'Cos if ye cannae tell me then I am off back to....... C,mon guys, finish it
  7. Maybe a shrew-d move on his part then?
  8. Alternativer Maryhill Ha! Ha! Ha! Brilliant. I remember them--weren't they with Noddy? What was the name of that show? I remember the Pimple was intrigued by it.He's an odd ball, he really is ; the Pimple I mean , not Noddy who was perfectly normal.......
  9. Well I hope so because I have my misgivings about this coming year. Even if it is early days. This team is going to take time to gel and currently there are misplaced passes, bunching and other things. Without Foran where would they be? What a cool customer he is. The other members of the team seem to be all huff and puff--maybe nerves of course. Elgin had some motivated hard working players and quite a bit of skill and desire. Highlights of course but......? Goalies seem on the ball though. Next ?
  10. Sigh! Go on, rub it in. Well thankfully there is another season to try our new tricks from Fanny Couver.
  11. Get away--you're kidding me!
  12. Never know until you try do you? A polite and informative approach to the club will bear fruit, if not immediately then possibly in the future. The important thing is to research the project, think of the pros and the cons , put it down on paper and polish it because your intention is to leave a readable piece of paper (plan) for them to refer to and mull over. Then present it in a friendly, enthusiastic and convincing manner. And, if you wish, ask for feedback witin a reasonable length of time.If they agree and don't deliver you can approach them again with a polite reminder b3caue they should kep their commitments . As Scotty says, it's unlikely that you will ever be brushed off and you will, at the minimum, be viewed a sa thoughtful and positive fan. Even dynamic. Good luck, sounds great.
  13. Spies during WW2 hid cyanide capsules in their mouth (in their teeth or summat) to commit suicide in the event of being captured.? So he could do the same could he not with a cyst full of beetroot juice so that when he went down the blood red dribble would be all over his shirt and make the ref wonder what on earth the defender had done to him, righ? Difficult to refuse a penalty to the lad in these circumstances ...eh?
  14. Vancouver Whitecaps fired their coach a couple of weeks ago and put the deputy coach in as Manager. After the first great effort in the first MLS game of the season for them it seems to have been a gradual downward slide ever since . They are in the Western Conference and isn't Toronto bottom of the Eastern Conference also--or close to it? Dwayne de Rosario has now been traded again from New York to some other team--frankly I am losing track of his career moves now -he is like a bouncing ball--now you see him, now you don't. He is , or was, a very good player but he was not a commanding figure in a recent game for Canada so maybe his game is fading. I read somewhere that his salary had gone up in leaps and bounds and it ic currently much much larger than it was 3 years ago when I rea;lly fancied him for his drive and energy. Scotty, I don't keep track of these things but I have the impression that the salaries in the MLS are now coming close to being off the chart--meaning that a team like ICT, with a very long history behind them, could never afford a player like him anymore The only slver lining for the Whitecaps in all of this is the fact that they have had a tremendous support all season so far, with the average fan realising that they are a new franchise expansion team and therefore are willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and the support they will need to get over the hump and clearly the team (the owners, like) have made money for sure. An average crowd or 20,000 + will do that for you won't it? Oh well, Katie and Willie duly arrived in Ottawa today and so far seems to be having a great time and are doing well with the cheering hordes so this country is again getting some good T.V. coverage instead of the bleak stuff on show recently. My pal has just returned from a long spell in the South of England and he said he learned as much as we knew about the Vancouver riots from the British newspapers forsooth. Some of the reports were apparently not very accurate but they have to sell papers don't they so......?
  15. Neil Lennon was/is small is he not?--fiesty little fella (smile) and effective for the "big" team. C.mon! Give the lad a chance--the taller the centre half is the easier it will be for him to slip through his legs. Eee ba goom.
  16. Yes. That's a Phillippng nuisance isn't it Wanderer. Naelifts--great one Cyril.
  17. Concise summary of what's available. Will continue to research. Thank you.
  18. Another issue I have is with IE9--it stops working frequently and I always get an error message which says that "M/S will now try to find the problem" then something runs abut nothing else happens--no magic cure, like. I can usually get out of it without restarting the computer so it is an irritant. Is this IE9 a BETA operation by any chance. Never saw that wenywhere? Another programme that I used to run on my old computer without any hangups or problems was Microsoft Fix It. I think it comes already installed on Windows 7 and I have had several uninstall or install and won't run. Trying to find the reason why it is so hopeless I just happened to notice that fearsome word in tiny red ink beside the name when it displayed on the heading of the web page--- viz."BETA" .Then I got rid of it pronto by using the Windows Installer/Uninstaller. Microsoft--what next !!???
  19. Yes, Shaw Cable does have WEBMAIL and I have talked to a technician about a switch to them some weeks ago. However, their "import contacts" button apears on their webpage but the tech told me that it is not functional..... yet?...ever? Go figure. He also tells me that their webmail cannot send an attachment which seems very odd and all you can do is send an email with text pasted into the body of it by copying from another document, presumably in the format which comes up when you click on "send a message." Rogers does not exist in Western Canada --only Shaw and Telus.Shaw took over Rogers several years ago--at that time I was with Rogers for TV only and can't remember any particular issues with them. We do not have much in the way of competition in Canada do we? I think I should 'phone Shaw again and try to clarify these statements because they do seem odd. Scotty, have you used Hotmail or Yahoo at all? The Outlook to which you refer must be the new product offered by Microsoft as a substitute for Outlook Express.I know very little about it but their $100 charge for the product was enough for me to abstain from finding out anything..smile.
  20. Classy look. Hope the footie is as good in which case the team will do very well. In short, dynamite. The black adds a touch of aggressiveness and the stripes on the pants completes a neat strip. The puckering at the neck --I wonder if that might prove to be a wee bit uncomfortable for the players? If not, then it is a cool addition.
  21. All problems with my new computer seem to have been resolved with the exception of Windows Live Mail which remains a bugbear .e.g.already-typed-text disappears at the drop of a hat when typing and without any warning. This has to be a bug because I have never experienced such a thing before with Outlook Express. I looked at G.Mail as an alternative, but was very surprised to note the complexity of it as well as the problems that users have sent in to Google and the number of problems they have had to work on and fix. All I want is a very simple send and receive function and being able to email a weppage and/or an attachment. That's it? Anybody got any suggestions?..Yahoo maybe? What about Hotmail ..any good and stable?
  22. And Slater's avatar or icon remains... PSYCHEDELIC............
  23. Terry has not yet even cobbled a full side together . So how can we predict anything? It all depends on how they gel together and how quickly each new player in the lineup figures out how the others operate and what his individual role is in the scheme of things--but you could say that about any of the other teams, couldn't you. Hibs will continue to struggle I think and Ian Black seems to have blotted his copybook so how many of the other young starlets think more about their fun times than of making the full commitment to that team and to their future? Could be an interesting season. My question now that Mixu is no longer in the mix is how well will Kilmarnock do ?
  24. Good post Manfer. I liked Duff's desire to get the ball upfield and he was not afraid to be the one to do it.
