  1. NEVER SAY NEVER.
  2. I joined this site when a revelation named Mantis informed me about it . I had tentatively been having a look at ICT's progress just before that and was quite surprised to find how well they had adpted to the SFL Divisions and to realise what the future might be like. That was about 6 or seven years ago and my, my, how the time has flown. So many new names ! And changes. I personally do not overly like frequent changes but I have to admit (sigh) that Scotty and Don have done a trenemdous amount of work on this website and it shows! I think the secret for not allowing pssion to overwhelm you with regard to the team, and arguments over this and that, is not to take yourself too seriously. After that, try to set priorities as far as what threads (oops, topic) you want to participate in. Otherwise you can spend too much time on every comma and every sentence. But I do read most topics so that I can at least keep up to date with ICT and I have been coming on here every day for donkey's years. IHE once said he comes on here to relax and frankly that is part of the fascination for me also. Whenever I have had a really tiresome day, if I just think for a moment about going online to ICT, then my heart gets a fillip and I immediately feel that great feeling of pleasure. So, obviously, I don't come on here to experience frequent or repetitive negativity which is a real downer and accomplishes very little. But all I can say is : act as many of the older posters do, just step back a little and enjoy the ride. Even if the team is not doing so well at any moment, you are still experiencing the loyalty of many people together and frankly that is a wonderful feeling.
  3. A hearty thanks to Pull My Finger. When you want something done you need someone who can pull the finger out.....
  4. I think you are asking the fans to stand up and be counted. No pun intended, like. This motion is dear to my heart and could be a stand-out. My very best memories were standing in rain or shine with nothing other than a good set of calf muscles to haud me upright. And, in fact , these memories also told me that often when we were on the terracing it was standing room only. Better crowds than Caley Thistle are getting now for sure. I wish you well since I mourneth the passing of the terracing banter for the rigid patterns of the STAND.
  5. Was it a blow-out, then. Or a blow-up?
  6. Criticism does not have to be negative and destructive, though Scotty. A sentence of balanced positivity is worth a hundred negative, etc blethering criticisims. Internet is merelty up front and center so it highlights the crap too much. Ross , at 18, has to given 100% encouragement and anything negative should be dealt with in the form of advice and instruction--AND that should be left to the coaches.
  7. Ryan Esson was off his line at the Imrie strike. Had he been back a bit then I think he would have got it. If he lerans from that then no fault. However, the ball was not hit with ferocious intensity so I feel it was stoppable. That in itself was not the clincher, however. The defence looked fragile in the highlights and there was a timidiy and lack of drive about the team after that goal that was uninspiring . Hamilton were composed and played neat football, unimpressed, seemingly,by Caley thistle's feats to date. But what would have been their performance had our team been upset by the goal to the point where they pulled out all the stops, increased their pace and played like they did in the opening half against Celtic? Somehow the team must increase the tempo of their game---or else. Maybe they have had it too easy, in a sense, for the past year. But this is now the SPL where no team can be counted out and the Dundee United game may just have been a fluke. As I said before, I feel that Terry has his work cut out to get the younger lads into the right , determined, first into the tackle , mindset!
  8. Open All Mics sounds like chaos in a thunderstorm. Virtually nothing but eNGLISH GAMES, CROWD NOISE AND INANE LAUGHTER. omg
  9. I'll bet that you could not Pull Your finger off the play button, then......eh? Scotty...where is my Canadian Flag Smilie? "Tis nowhere to be found and methinks I am desolate."
  10. Thanks Scotty. The video was, for me, hard to see in places and not up to what I expected of the fine BBC standard. I thought that cameras adjusted their lenses automatically to differing light conditions nowadays, but much of the action was in deep shadow. Strangely, the Celtic match last week was of a much higher quality. I can understand now why facial muscles should be controlled, because it was sad to see Dundee United at such a low ebb. McCann's goal was a beauty --did you see that swerve?...wheeee!I did think that their goalie was not very good and could have probably been more alert bgut the goals were superbly taken and , after all , he probably does not have the ability of the Spanish World Cup goalie. Poor, poor defence for D.U. ICT just seemed to stroll through the game in a very relaxed fashion. Hope they are as sharp as a needle against Hamilton. I saw the first game of the season in Inverness in August 2008 against Hamilton and the latter team was going quite well at the time , being real stuffy, hard-working and business-like.Hamiltom won that day 0 - 1.
  11. What can I say? Ask a dumb question and always be assured that I will get a common sense answer! Man, was that ever a less semi-warm, but not entirely cold, reply. And the links to boot. What a guy!! Er that's you, Scotty. not Uncle Scarlet...
  12. Have I missed something? Using the BBC highlights now? I thought we had a club supporter who did the camerawork hmself, like last year?
  13. Any gen on when the highlights of the Dundee United match will be posted?
  14. The Whitecaps are very busy trolling around the International scene and have landed two prominent players. They are very busy making preparations for next season's MLS debut. I don't think that they will have an interest in R Hastings , if for no other reason than the fact that he is no longer in the bloom of his youth.
  15. Cracking save from Mark.If the saves he made , shown on the video, is anything like his performance over the piece he is well worth a place in the Scottish team. Furthermore , allowing McGregor back in the team clearly shows how desperate the SFA management is , or the Manager, since a person like that is a disgrace to the shirt and a poor influence on the players.Picking him is like saying to the younger up and comers that personal misconduct will be tolerated and that one rotten ap[ple in the barrell is quite acceptable, Strict discipline is not our bag and , and,........... Celtic's goal definitley came from a gifted player but how many guys did he pass without a real tackle being mnade on him? Do you think they were all scared of Celtic getting a penalty or what? But what a great goal; even I was clapping, sitting watching the computer..
  16. WELL, TERRY IS CERTAINLY SHOWING HIS EXPERIENCE AND INSTILLING THE TEAM WITH HIS PASSION. AUGURS WELL FOR THIS SEASON'S FUTURE.

  20. Rampant! Good start to my Sunday! RAMPANT.
  21. Smee--the same as last season...chat room like a morgue. Strange Some of the patter in former chat rooms have been fast and furious.

  24. Old Caley Girl Can you give me the url for MFR--I typed in www.murrayfirthradio.co.uk and got a message saying thet did not exisyt. Oh my!! Thanks. Scarlet
  25. I am listening to nothing here in Western Canada at 7.10 a.m. on Sunday. I cannot see any way to access any radio or video so am stumped. I did expect to find some links on this topic to something (didn't that userd to be called "thread"--why change it?)so I guess I will try the BBC Sports. Problem there is they don't allow access from foreign legion bases to their jealously-guarded external broadcasting airwaves. Hmmmmm-what if I try my old crystal wireless from 1940--do you think I will be able to pick up something on short wave? By the by, Hilversum is not in Holland but close to New York. Amazing what you learn every day with an ear to the ground and getting the vibes from the tom-toms of the local Indian Band, the Squamish Nation.
