Will we be the SPLs whipping boys?
Scarlet Pimple replied to gordyfromsneck's topic in Caley Thistle
:tongue:Ach, youse is only a wee whippersnapper onyhoo! -
Davie--Please don't forget to give me a positive reputation + the next time. I hear Scotty is thinking about sending out a fiver per point. You are a perspicacious lad aren't you.Pleasantly-speaking, that is .

To those of us who don't know what "pejorative" means could you explain it to me please? And, no, I am not prejudiced, perverted or pencil-thin; just a predatorial pensioner who has a peccadillo for purposeful people, parturient young mothers and posting parquinade-type lampoons on here. Paradoxically, after reading some posts in this column I enter a state of paresis quite often and at times like that I always resort to my old favorite relaxant, pareira, to placate my HBP and parasympathetic parts. Thus avoiding the need to posture to attract attention especially when there is a paucity of fans on here. Got to go--pp calls!

Good post Dead Ball Specialist--not for the first time I may say.

If Jonny keeps it up fer 90 minutes do you think he will be o Vinegaragra?
-
If you are referring to me IHE I will push the positive one to help a lame dog over a style any time. :_funny:
-
Can someone please tell us overseas guys how many fans were at the match? :_talktalktalk: I have looked everywhere for this without result.
-
IS THAT YOU IHE? GOODNBESS GRACIOUS! WHAT A SIGHTfor sore eyes. :_shady:
-
Could he take a leaf out of Craig Brewster's fitness approach I wonder? There is no doubt that he DID seem to get them fit enough to still have plenty of running in them after 90 minutes. Were Celtic THAT much fitter than Caley Thistle or was it just that they had more overall classy players?
-
Well, I do think that a lot of postings are made ....tongue in cheek... :_shady:

Somewhaytoverrated I feel. The transfer fee sets the bar so high now that even mediocre players will now think thatthey are bright stars worth much more than they really are. Lennon is scarting around looking for a replacement? If he thinks McGeady is the height of the Bees' Knees, wait till you see his face looking at Jonny on Saturday as he tears the Celtic defence apart. :_sleep:

I accessed it about half an hour ago and it was "down as the others say. Now at 8p.m. in Canada, 4 am in the U.K., it is up and running. I am finding, however, that on the topic headings when I mouse over them they shimmer badly. Anyone else seeing this? I am also having slow loading problems?

Strained or pulled knee ligaments are notorious for giving future problems. My injury to my left knee , skiing 28 years ago, still occasionally gives me "Gip" , especially if I put too much pressure on it on the bike. I just rest it a bit, massage it with my fingers and get right back on the bike but I take it easy.Usually, in a day or so, it's back to as normal as I will ever have it. I did have arthroscopic surgery but all that did was suck out the torn ligament debris but it was very effective at reducing the inflammation and pain and within a week of that minor limping for 2 years. Ligaments do not have their own blood supply so they get their nourishment from absorbing nutrients by a process of osmosis from surrounding tissue. And that is another reason why healing can be so slow. But with all the assistance that he will have at the club no doubt he will be back again shortly.M aybe the minor surgery referred to was arthroscopic.

So there you are RIG--remember the overseas fans. Ta buckets.

Jekyll and Hyde? What a combo. :_phew:

DMacca--yes the world runs on money, but not exclusively, and at ICT this is not necessarily entirely true either. No matter how selfless and spiritual you may be about the club the blunt facts are that you can't run it or survive in any meaningful way money. Money , anyway, is merely a way of exchanging energy isn't it. Terry signed on for the duration of the SFL and beyond and stayed the course. Forget whatever other self-interest reasons he may have had do this because he has imbued the club/ players with spirit and has set a passionate example of dedication and commitment to all associated twith him and Maurice (as a team). Buit he and Maurice have been a potent force since they came and deserve priase on all levels of emotion and directgion. IHE You use the word "muppetry " so often and in such a negative way towards management that it seems to have lost all meaning. Maybe you feel it means puppetry but, if so, who is pulling the strings and does it matter? What is more important is the spirit within the club and the progress it has made and will continue to make as we all go forward, fans included. Even if they did make mistakes, nobody is perfect and one learns more from mistakes than one does from listening to other people's advice (or criticism) because generally one is rarely ever willing to take it and so one learns the hard way, anyway. So why live so entrenched in the past? Change is taking place every day and in all ways and, if the club is to move forward in a positive way, the management has to be given their place and due for keeping the club afloat.Remember the old saying .."there but for the grace of God go I." To be able to make a financial plan work that involved difficult cuts in staff and expenses to achieve a million pound reduction takes skill and courage, not only mental but emotional, and frankly I think it is an exceptional achievement and I will bet that several of the upper management team lost more than a few hours sleep over it before it came to fruition.. In short, the management has worked closely with the football team Manager and the players and wrestled with the financial challenges to bring the club out of darkness into light. Long may it continue to be so good. The Scottish Football authorities certainly have a major responsibility to address this relegation financial morass and their talk about instituting SPL 2 should be backed and implemented without further delay , provided, IMHO that money should be equally distributed to every team in both tiers to level the playing field. Parachute payments are a great idea also and maybe a similar type of payment should be made to the team who is promoted to assist them to spend the money that needs to be found to cover the higher costs involved --again to ensure that the transition from one league to another is as financially seamless as possible and to fair . The new S.F.A. appointee from the Yorkshire Cricket Association, hired to make necessary changes within the structure of Scottish Footbal, and who can talk up a good storm, may be part of the solution. Clearly it can't come quick enough.

"A" for effort, Libero.Excellent. :_thumbup: I am getting the impression that our defence is shaping up into quite a potent solid unit. Is this correct? With a solid defence the front players can start getting forward to create chances. So I am more confident now about our prospects. Looks like the spirit is there, thank goodness. VITAL to success. Terry says there is vitality in the team this season when there was not last season. I think he means "at the beginning of last season", does he not?

Pre-Season Friendlies / Early Season Games
Scarlet Pimple replied to Scotty's topic in Caley Thistle
He was the captain of that great war vessel..HMS Sneck.Still in dry dock from the doughty fights that it had engaged in a few seasons ago. Probably will re-appear soon..I hope. Never laughed so much in my life at the time it was brought onto the scene. So we can overlook some of his faults in the interests of solidarity. He's an irreverend handful, so he is. :_doh: -
Wanderer You have just added fule to the fire..... :_shocked2:

Blumen shame, so it is. Putting a guy in a position in which he does not feel comfortable or plays well? Well I am off tae maah bed ...but before that happens I am going to get a wee Gil-lac. :_wink:

Johnboy-- "under 5's" what do you want- arthritic , old folks with Alzheimer's and a walking stick and , in the main, needing Extense? :_shady: You are so hard to please. You didn't even believe me when I told you that she talks to us here in the family.I mean, what else can a black cat do get a new broom for her birthday...eh? She is 3 feet long and 1 foot in height. All animals and birds in Canada are two to three times larger thanthere brothers and sisters in Britain. It's all about being different and the large body is accompoanied by a larger brain --hence the advanced speech patterns. Need I say more...? :_nonono:

Welcome Dave. Englishmen are getting more numerous up here in Inverness and we have a corker in the Manager's seat. He's AMBITIOUS. Which suits us down to the gropund. And there is no need to worry about Laurence's age --- he is ageless. :_panting:
-
George Besat was a wee thing as well but his skill was m,esmerising. :_fart:
-
Good heavens we've got an old one here. Laurence is 67 and only IHE is older than him but less old than the Pimple and Jock Watt in first place who is a veteran. They are catching us up Jock. Jeez , if you pass on then I will have to gloss over IHE's grumpiness so I don't have a heart attack from stress.

Bigger risk than Niculae ?
Scarlet Pimple replied to IMMORTAL HOWDEN ENDER's topic in General Nonsense
Craig Dunain hospital has moved so that spells an instant negative on any deal/ Why would the management of ICT even think about him when they forced Hart out for what, in comparison to this nutter's criminal record, was a minor offence. No self-respecting Manager or management would touch him with a bargepole.I hope :_thumbdown:
