Our clever and artistic IHE could also be quite a spender Especially if he's on a bender when, methinks, he may like a drink or two "Well," he'd say. "Isn't it true - that's really up to you. I get my inspiration from my friends right up there in the bright blue sky. And the rest comes from pleasing you, foreby." Oops, gotta go! The pipes are calling and it's getting late and my wife is tellin' me that my porridge is on the plate. Nae fish for me the nicht, the Ness is in full spate......Och!

Would that last one be the Cameron barracks by any chance, IHE? I believe all my uncles on my mother's side were in the Camerons in the 1st WW. One left dead at 19 years old on the battlefield and the other two badly injured. And, if so, is it possible to gain entry , say the next time I come over , to see if there are any memorial plaques inside that I could see?

Oh IHE how I wish we could return to the balmy days of HMS Sneck and the blue submarine as escort. What have you up your sleeve for this season under our new Manager, Foran and our new forward, Doran?

The time is 7 p.m in Western Canada on 15th June 2016 and I am watching the Euro Soccer Finals in Marseille. The first half has just finished at 0-0 and I am convinced the the referee is known to me and is a Scottish referee who is, well, controversial. So I'm on the computer now to find out who the referee is and I am right . it'sssssssssss .......... WILLIE COLLUM. So far this has been a good game with Albania not only holding off the French but outplaying them.....excellent defence, great passing and cool play from Albania. Not only that, they have had more chances to score than France and could very well win this game as the French players are now falling back. As for Willie C. -- well, he has had a very good game. Non-controversial and quiet. No histrionics, crisp decisions and kept things very much under control. Looks like his performance ratings by International standards are adequately earned. Are we giving Mr Collum a bum rap perhaps -- at least instead of encouragement?

Barrow in the Furness , North West of England, district eh? One of our former members named Clydie the Horse, who entertained us oldies in days gone by was owned by a gentleman who ended up there as a nuclear development team staffer/scientist. Anyone still around who remembers him..? Not a terribly prepossessing place I am afraid (industrialised) but the surrounding Lake District area is the very opposite. But you know what they say in England.. " where there's muck there's money, lad."

What is the current state of the MLS in N America?
Scarlet Pimple replied to Scarlet Pimple's topic in General Football
I saw some videos a few nights ago of the "Caps playing against a couple of U S teams and wondered where all the spectators were .Then I noted that they were not playing in any kind of a park that might be classified as a stadium so started to think they were simply playing a training match or a friendly and I was so puzzled that I was wondering if I was hallucinating. It was then I noted the number 2 after the names of the teams and the penny dropped. Then I had a good laugh at myself for being so naïve. Apparently the word "Reserve" doesn't feature over here in this context. Onyhoo, I will be looking out for these games in the near future. That new, tall 15-year old lad placed on the roster by the Whitecaps does have considerable potential and is not afraid to take on more mature players and have a go. We can onlwish him well. His background has a bit of a "Rags to riches" tone to it so we shall see what we shall see.... -
To sign John Rankin at this stage of his career would not send a great message to anyone. And maybe even be seen as an act of defeatism or something like that. BDu98196's post above is on the right track.

Caleyboy, maybe that remark directed at the auld Pimple might have been fairly accurate but go easy on the Kingsmills loon. His heart is deffo in the right place and he is a staunch ICT supporter. Yes ! Er ....you are awful but I do hope you like me, though.

If we are hoping the new lad will score a few for us we will need to give him plenty of encouragement because if he comes up here with preconceived ideas that the pace is slower and the quality of the of footie is less than what he has been used to he may go into shock, may not even be as fit as possible and take his time to fit in. I mean some of the games are torrid and the pace can be upped too so I've noticed. Just a thought.

http://www.whitecapsfc.com/post/2016/06/09/highlights-vancouver-whitecaps-fc-vs-ottawa-fury?autoplay=true The Canadian Cup I suppose you would call it? As far as I recall ,they were also defending their cup win last year. Here are the Highlights of the 2nd leg in Vancouver today after being soundly beaten by Ottawa at their home a few days ago. The Ottawa performance was far below par for the 'Caps, mostly because they were not fielding many of their first team players and could not even score one goal so inept were they. I was also surprised by the tactics, the effort and the determination displayed by Ottawa. Vancouver also fielded a 15 year old young man stated to be brilliant. but he was not really in the game. Today, however, appears to have been a different story and the Manager of the 'Caps knew very well that a loss today, or a failure to score enough goals to overcome the deficit against them, would not sit well with the very supportive fans etc. Hope you enjoy these highlights. Note the massive crowd--very difficult to assess but I would put it at over twenty thousand fans who are really into North American soccer these days and having a great time as well. What a lovely day for a soccer game it was too. A couple of days ago here in Maple Ridge (on the West coast) the indoor temperature was 89 degrees. Last year was the hottest year on record here in Canada and already this year the signs are ominous. -
That's quite an instruction ,Scotty. Everything you said was very well presented and must have entailed a lot of works so, right up front, thank you very much. I understood it because all of it was what I had previously done/followed up to the point of, and including, clicking on the "Save as your new stream" After I had clicked on that, I was presented with a box with one word in the centre of the box: "ENTER". which then posed a problem for me.. what to do now? .I tried deleting it to allow me the space in the box to enter a stream name as instructed and that didn't work. So then I started typing in the same box on the assumption that the word "enter" would immediately disappear except that what happened then was that all the previous work just disappeared completely and there was no lower box presented to me showing the words Create new Stream in it. Also, going back to the Unread webpage I found that nothing had been reset-indicating that all my efforts had ended in failure. So now I am thinking..."Is this a fault in the site, or is it my IE11 malfunctioning? With I.E.11 anything can be a possibility for sure but probably unlikely in this case since this type of problem had not manifested before. However, it seems as if you have kindly fixed this issue for me yourself to include"unread content #2" by waving your magic wand so, glory be, I can now see this at the top right of the page and after clicking that and gaining access to that section the only thing I need to do, under READ in the heading, is change the "go to top of the page" to "go to first unread post" each time I access that webpage and it works.

I deserved that one Jock ,after my Doon the Ferry lark. But you know S.P. just wouldn't do a thing like that though would he? At least not without permission from IHE. Oh. oh! what have I started.......? -

Was Jock Watt a rough Diamond as a lad? And oft was he far from well-behaved and even more frequently bad? "Doon the Ferry", that rough wee place , I have a feeling it was Jolly Jockey that could have set the pace. And oft out-running the polis to save his face, I do hear tell that wance he hit the Mayor wi his own mace. Which wasnae very nice in his Lordship's own space. And now he's back frae Aussie Land His personality now the essence of sartorial composure Which is my cue to hand this ditty over to another to complete As I seek the bliss of escapist closure. -
Nice one Cyril! IHE's found a stag, found a stag, a stag. If he submits this picture to the Competition Committee, he's got it in the bag. From the background fading to the brilliant definition He niftily moves his position, then escapes from tradition and avoids perdition. I wish I had his vision and ease of view. And I'll bet so do you Phew!

I have tried what you suggest and yes I can change it temporarily but each time I go back it's returned to the choice of "go to top of page". As instructed we make the change to"go to first unread post "and we duly save this as a new stream. Then a new box comes up with a word in it . Since we are asked to add a name then what name would be required and where would we put it --as soon as I try to insert typing into the new box which popped up everything disappears and we are back to the starting point again and there is no change in the status. I also tried clicking the small tick after changing the required status without result. I think I need a manual.? Thanks.

It's not the cough that carries you off, it's the coffin they carry you off-in. Hoch! Hoch! There was an undertaker at the bottom of Academy street beside Shore street they used to call Coffin John. They say he died of consumption --- was he coffin his guts out, like?

Formerly, when clicking on the stars to the left of the headings for unread posts, the programme would automatically lead you to the last unread posting so that you could just continue to read that thread. But now this no longer happens and I need to scroll down through all, or most of, the posts on a thread to access that point from which to continue reading it. Is there an explanation and a cure for this? Thanks.
