  1. Well there you go IBM. And here was I always thinking that he was burned on this side by the vicious Countess of Seaforth who had a castle along the coast closer to Aberdeeen than Inverness. Then she must have had her abode on the North side.
  2. Once we can get all the injured players back and fighting fit we should be winning ....and.... winning... and
  3. Well it's definitely "No-Show" Silva it seems.
  4. Well , IBM, if that car was the Vauxhall Cresta which you thought that I had mentioned then it's not I'm afraid. But note the flutes on the bonnet . So we shall have to just continue to think about it. I was 17 in March of 1955 and off to the RAF when I was 18. And that doesn't exactly gel with my memories of driving that car. But then again I suppose I must have been 17 at least to have a driving licence so maybe 1955 was the year-- except that it certainly wasn't that model which is a completely rounded shape whereas Dad' s car was angular.
  5. Well you are right about that,. But--er --where exactly is Chanonry Point again?
  6. IBM. you ought to be on Television. Incredible!
  7. Interesting--I mean if it's only acupuncture could he not have this done in Inverness? The whole scenario seems to be ,well ,somewhat suspicious all round?
  8. Yes IHE--that's a Bona fide description I am sure . Definitely not a boner.
  9. Who is that Scotty? Can't be you can it? And, if so, when was that photo taken? IHE me too. Our new Prime Minister, sworn in today, is Justin Trudeau aged 44 in December. His wife is a doll and admits to jumping out of an aeroplane just to prove to herself that because she can't stomach heights she is not a coward. Gutsy lady. I know that feeling....speed on skis or in a car is no problem but looking down from a great height into a chasm which is obviously very dangerous makes me squirm Oyur new Prime Minister was shooed in today--Justin TrudeauI
  10. Brummel. Bosun is a shortened version of Boatswain but Charlie B will verify.
  11. IBM I am as fairly certain as I can get away with that it was a Vauxhall though. Sloping back also.
  12. Yes , yeah, yeah, let's forget the Viva name but they sure look like the chromium flutes that used to be on the sides of the bonnet of my Dad's car.
  13. Well, for that explanation you get plus 5 in my book plus 5 stars for being a General--ly savvy guy when it comes to recalling factoids and figurines.Yes!
  14. Charlie- -"sh--te catchers"?---they were known as "Plus Fours" in my young day. Can you remember the reason for that name. I found it out once but now it's gone....?
  15. Och IHE that's a kind remark. I don't so much "like you" so much as find you ..incredible. Smile But if I said I thought you were "speshul" ...well, that might create a stir 'cos people might think you were a gay blade...eh? Hoch! Hoch! Hoch!
  16. http://www.capbridge.com/gallery/video-tours/ In North Vancouver, British Columbia there has been built a suspension bridge over the deep Gorge of the Capilano river. The word Capilano is of Indian origin. The bridge is 300 feet above the gorge as you walk across , sways in the wind and the numerous feet and weight of walking patrons over it. The tensioners are of course of high tensile strength and it's eminently safe but ........it's still not for the faint of heart. The above link shows an offshoot of the bridge in the same location when the proprietors of the show decided to construct an outcrop of circular steel in the shape of a walkway anchored into the cliff face in the area on one side but with only thin air on the other side. This great video of the construction techniques and workers shows the daunting obstacles they faced to get it just right and the finished article. North and West Van is where I used to run my business prior before retirement and it's all hills and valleys. North Van is where the expensive houses are-- mostly because of the views across the Burrard Inlet, which comes in from the Pacific Ocean and allows the huge tankers to anchor in the bay prior to loading and departure with their precious cargos. West Vancouver is the next door neighbour of North Vancouver and the house prices are even more grotesque there. It's where all the really wealthy people live and houses can be very large indeed. Hope ypou enjoy the video
  17. In foreground, how about a Vauxhall Viva with silver fluted (sides of ) bonnet , IBM?
  18. Brilliant.
  19. Yes!UIHE --that would be ALARMING.
  20. And Bughtie--isn't the plural of sinuses "Sinai"? (Where is Charlie Bannerperson when you need him?) On reflection, that's only a desert though isn't it? Dry though, just like a stuffed-up nasal passage, so there you go.....
  21. Bughtie you are awful--but I like you!
  22. Darn it Bughtie--you just stole my thunder.! ......... O.K........ let's try this .................. sauce
  23. -ing-it-down
  24. Best way to find out Bughtmaster is to just try typing "Glottal stop". Then open mouth wide a and look for the little flap at the back..
