  1. IHE --oh you are a wag! Or as they say in Yorkshire " Hullo, fook'n hairoil."
  2. 12th Man Re the buses : there is wear and tear on the buses and the drivers plus costs of gasoline and the need to make a profit so discounting deeply for such a trip is hardly a feasible proposition to them I would imagine. It is, after all, a business and the same criticism might also be levelled at individuals for not offering to take several people in their cars .If you get my drift?
  3. Oh ! Oh! How did that post get on this thread for goodness sake? I was on the Independence thread...... Charles - that's going too far. It's either you or the lurking Gremlins again. Sigh--life gets tejious don' it?
  4. Leave it to the Scots--the steam engine, the telephone across the Atlantic, Penicillin and many other inventions. Have faith and go for it I say. This is an opportunity that is worth the risk.... Is there anyone left in Scotland these days who actually believes that David Cameron, who suddenly remembers that he has Scottish blood in his veins and cares s-o-o-o-o-o much about Scotland, will invoke the feel-good factor, viz: ''stay with us dearies, and you will be alright 'cos I'll look after you", cares a fig about us Northerners? He's more concerned about greed and power and money, not the Scots. This is your .last chance to get rid of the likes of him and his ilk. Blow it now and you deserve what you get. It's all Laurence's fault anyway --he started this thread in the first place, clearly not realising the hornet's next that he was stirring up. One thing's for sure, when the oil finally runs out, an independent Scotland will have reaped the benefit and, if thrift and smart thoughts have anything to do with setting assets aside for the future, then you all will be "alright Jack"--The alternative of staying with the U K Government seems banal to me since you will be no further forward and will remain slaves to the self-serving bureaucrats of Westminster whose only interest in Scotland is the taxes they can squeeze from you and the relaxing vacations they can enjoy here.
  5. If you have the time to read it or even understand it. But...thinks...that's entirely my own fault 'cos I've been away so long. Won't someone please post a map on this thread.....?
  6. Viewing the text updates Celtic are totally dominant and getting the feeling that they have more experience. Or is Caley just timid today, or both?
  7. Cushion and a rug, Eagle? Oh Dear Youv'e reached 50.....just wait till you reach 70--then you need a cushion for your piles and a rug fer yer head 'cos you've no hair on't.

  15. As I recall Neksor of you go back over the posts I think there is a reference to this very thing. Personally speaking, I am not sure what sweating alone could do to ham the pitch IF the drainage is good. If the side drains can cope and proper drain pipes are installed under the turf why would there be a huge problem? Here in Maple Ridge, B.C., we moved into a new house some 9 years ago and had a very heavy clay soil. Drainage was a problem indeed since the back yard sloped downwards a bit towards the house. So I had to dig a few trenches a foot deep --which was like breaking up rock and nearly killed me in the process-- filled them up a couple of inches with stone chips then laid 5-6 inch water pipes over the top of the bed of chips with holes drilled through the bottoms, then filled-in again over these pipes with stone chips followed by soil on top and led it all into the perimeter drains along the side of the house. The latte discharged the water flow out to the street drains I think. Anyway, it worked a treat and we did not have any more new young trees die when their soil holes flooded all the time after we planted them. So, where is the problem? Hmmmm.
  16. I'll miss this one I think. My Canada Goose transport is very iffy 'cos he's down with a bad dose of the 'flu. It takes time and energy to recover from this and the older fella will just not make it in time I don't think. But me heart will be there ....
  17. Well it's going to be a very nice pay day for our club. Fully Deserved!
  18. I take it we have won. Phew! Wonderful. Yogi will be relieved. Looks as if he will be on the crest of the wave at the end of the season. Eat yer heart out, T B.
  19. Thanks Kingsmills. Excellent. Can only do your best after all. I can see the deluges of rain you are experiencing in poor old Blighty. I have a buddy who lives in the S W of England and he is very close to the Thames flood. Cor blimey! What a mess?
  20. Will this be available for we, overseas viewers an, if co, in what format.? Straight video link--click and view or will it be complicated so that near Octogenarians will have hard time following all the technicalities --without help from TMJ or IHE?
