Celtic FC Managers Fact
Lennon will be out soon enough. Not long until the fans realise that he hasn't got what it takes to win important games. TM could do a reasonable job at Middlesbrough but I do wonder how he will get on with the dross that Strachan signed especially seeing as it was TM that allowed a lot fo them to leave Celtic.

Rory MacAllister
Try having the right attitude. That's what saw him released from Aberdeen before he came to us. Maybe he has found his level now (like Prunty) and has improved his attitude accordingly. I must admit I do still find it funny when I think of the article on how he was using ICT as a stepping stone to bigger and better things.

For those who can't be bothered reading the article I'm compiled a summary of the story: "Waaaaaaah!"

Rooney and Pass-backs
Not a very high success ratio from potential number of chased back passes though is it? It's the Scottish way though I supose to charge about like a headless chicken. In other countries when teams lose the ball they don't go charging after it, instead they regain their shape and position and by doing this they don't open up spaces for their opponents to exploit. I think there's a time and a place for chasing after a back pass but these chances are few and far between. Esson appears to be utterly fantastic at dealing with back passes.

Rooney and Pass-backs
We weren't doing it all the time last season though. How many goals last season came this way from closed down pass backs? Ultimately, in the grand scheme of things, it's a pointless activity.

ICT not worth as much as feeder club
Close enough! According to the RC OS they will be selling autographed copies of the game.

Melville / Dundee / 25pt Deduction
No but I assume it was about Di Stefano as he declared his interest in buying Dundee a couple of weeks back. Unless Hicks and Gillet are looking for a new project...

Are people seriously bothered by this?

Wayne Rooney
The problem is his form has been so poor since the end of last season that they won't be able to command anywhere near the amount of money they might like. Coupled with their financial position the teams who might offer to buy Rooney are the ones with the upper hand here. Still, they've got Owen in reserve...

colin calderwood
League wise it is certainly a good record but his Cup record was poor and included some embarrassing results against lower league teams. His style of football wasn't particularly great and he was offered a fairly generous transfer budget over the years, certainly when he started anyway. Apologies for going OT. You might want to re read the last couple of posts...

Rooney and Pass-backs
This. I can accept that there are some scenarios where it might be worth it but on the majority of occasions it achieves nothing as you say.

Rooney and Pass-backs
In fairness that was chasing a long kick down field from Esson. I wonder if Ryan got an assist for that come to think of it?
-
Rooney and Pass-backs
I would suggest not wasting energy chasing down pass backs.

Brilliant! Who wrote that report? That basically means that if it hadn't been for, well, everything, ICT would have won!

Matchday Thread: ICT -V- Aberdeen
No stamp but I still think there's a kick in the stomach. Interesting to see that McGregor has been punished for his wee kick out at MacGuire in the Aberdeen v Rangers game despite the referee taking no action at the time and Aberdeen not complaining about the incident either.

I'm with Dalneigh Caley. There is absolutely no contact between Tokelys boot and the ball before he goes through Megginson. The touch on the ball is clearly with the outside of Megginson right boot as he pushes it away.

Hospitality for a fiver
Aberdeen have Zander Diamond and Michael Paton helping raise the profile of their club on Facebook I believe...

I think it can be applied whether you get the ball or not. Getting the ball in a challenge doesn't automatically absolve it from not being a foul and punishable by some colour of card.
