  1. What does Kerr have to do with anything - he was rubbish and had no bearing on the game. Harkins and Bullock were fantastic however. I was disappointed when he (Kerr) left as I felt he could've been a real asset for us but if those are the performances he turns in this season then (summarised as an emoticon) - :D
  2. F**k you Dundee you'll never win the league! You'll never win the league! You'll never win the league! (Repeat to fade walking down Tannadice Street) :D
  3. Cox Foran Djebi Zadi
  4. We've really had some outstanding players over the years. You often forget about some of the talent we've seen in Inverness. I agree with alternative maryhill - that is a belter of a team but I am also partial to our SFL1 title winning team simply for the fantastic front three we had - Wilson, Ritchie and Bingham. They tore teams apart and Hislop was a capable replacement for Ritchie as well. Our midfield bustled with relentless drive and energy - Keogh, Hart, McBain and Duncan were all determined and solid in controlling the middle of the park whilst our back line was hard to breach and the full backs encouraged to get forward as often as possible. Golabek, Mann, Caff and Tokely - brilliant! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/s...v_1/3712333.stm - memories! I'd be hard pressed to choose between those two teams to be honest. What I do know is that our team from 2004 would utterly annihilate any of the SFL1 teams this year.
  5. You're utterly dreadful at winding people up and when posters start to pull apart your posts you reply with foul mouthed abuse. Not exactly the kind of response for someone who is "only here to wind folk up". In the end the only person who gets worked up is you
  6. Bookmarked. Shame I can't find some of your hysterical posts about Brewster last season.
  7. Indeed. Seems some peoples lives are actually emptier than mine.
  8. Wow , really ? Oh dear!

I was wondering what you were getting at with regards to the family section et al. and my post

I think you have missed my point by....I actually cannot think of an appropriate decription of just how much you have missed it by! I've absolutely no idea why you are talking about swearing, kids, the Main Stand or the Family Section in the North Stand. I've not really mentioned them in my previous posts on this subject. What I am getting at is that during home games the atmosphere is generally poor. I believe this is, mainly, down to designated seating i.e. you get a ticket (season ticket or otherwise) and you have to sit where it says more often than not. There is a degree of movement but not the same freedom that exists at away matches where you and your mates can come into the ground late and still easily find your way into a space amongst all the guys signing because the fans tend to sit wherever they want at these games. When the area behind the goals was sheltered terracing, you could move about as you pleased to join up with like minded folk who wanted to sing and get behind ICT. With all seater stadia and pre determined seating, this lack of movement is stifled and the ability to create pockets of vocal fans diminishes as, without a lot of forward planning, they can end up some distance apart.

It's been raised before that alcohol contributes to a good atmosphere. I think the biggest contribution is that at Away games you can sit / stand pretty much wherever you want so the like minded guys who want to belt out tunes and get behind the team can do so in the company of others who want to do the same. You can't do the same in Inverness.
  12. Apparently he put in a thundering tackle and was lucky not to be sent off

Nick Ross is a 17 year old kid who, when he played against Montrose, got dogs abuse from the Main Stand when he couldn't get a cross into the box. It was cringeworthy. To be honest, I think the most telling factor in what (some of) the players thought of the crowd on Saturday was when another chance went begging which led to more groans and gurns from the North Stand which prompted Foran to turn round to the fans and wave his arms and shout "Come on! Get behind us!". Certainly the reactions of the crowd were not going down well with him and I don't blame him. The support the guys got against Dunfermline was fantastic despite not playing to their best at times yet at Inverness it seems it is easier for the fans to moan and berate the players than it is to actually bother themselves to get behind them.

When Duncan tried a shot and pulled it high and wide he got a bundle of abuse and slated from large portions of the North Stand. Same when he misplaced a pass. When you get reactions like that you can see why some players are reticant when it comes to shooting like Eagle and Sanchez were just that as you have pointed out. My main point is that I cannot for the life of me understand just how booing players and getting on their backs so early is going to be productive. If one player has a shot at goal and misses or delays and passes up the chance then he gets booed and shouted at what do you think is going through his head next time he gets a sight of goal? I bet he will be even less likely to fancy a crack at goal. Against Dunfermline we passed up a number of chances but the fans were fantastic and kept singing throughout and keeping the players going and we were able to sneak a victory at the end. And it was the first game of the season for goodness sake. The first 90 minutes for these guys playing together in a competitive league game in Inverness. They must be wondering just what they have gotten themselves in for. I've said it before but our fans are in for a shock if they think we are going to steamroller teams in this division. Two games in and maybe it is clicking with some of them but going by the reaction of a lot it would appear not to be the case. The Dundee game will be interesting...

What on earth are you talking about now?

I am pretty sure that Butcher didn't come into the dressing room at half time / full time shouting "BOOOOO!" and "You're f'cking rubbish *insert players name here*" like our fans were doing on Saturday. I would imagine that by tearing into them he was telling them to improve and encouraging them to do better which is a hell of a difference from booing them and giving them no encouragement whatsoever by utterly slating them in their first home league game of the season.

Out of the 20 shots Dunfermline had that day only 2 were on target and one hit the post. Despite all their long range strikes hardly any were a problem for Esson. Whilst we didn't have as many shots on goal we actually had more on target than the Pars did. We defended well, reduced the opposition to long range desperation strikes and took our chance when it came our way against one of the pre season favourites for promotion. I'm beginning to wonder just what some fans are expecting from the team each week. What truly bizarre logic. I don't believe I have said anything like that. What I am saying is that there are much better ways to get behind your team and support them than booing them. I honestly cannot fathom out why you would want to boo players as a means of "supporting" them. I'll ask again seeing as you seemed to miss it last time out - do you think booing your team and slating their performance is helping to get behind them? Richie Foran clearly didn't seem to think it was helping anyone yesterday, I think that tells you all you need to know.

Brilliant. So let's get this straight - you actually think booing your team and slating their performance is helping to get behind them?
  19. RiG replied to a post in a topic in Caley Thistle
That might actually be the daftest thing I have ever read on this forum. Clearly I saw a different game than you then because I thought we did well against Dunfermline. If you thought we were poor against the Pars I dread to think what you believe a acceptable performance is.

You sit near me then as it is the same guy I am talking about.
  21. RiG replied to a post in a topic in Caley Thistle
Maybe not but they deserve to be encouraged when they are on it and not being told they are garbage a matter of minutes into their first home game of the season.

I'm far from the most optimistic ICT supporter but even I was getting riled by some of the guff the fans were coming out with today. There were folk grumbling after 7 minutes today. You could see it was annoying the players and Foran obviously took it upon himself to gesticulate to the crowd as if to say "Come one get behind us" but that was met with more gurning from those in the North Stand. Some of it was utterly embarrassing especially the red faced glebe sitting along from me: "Oh right that's what we should be doing(!)" "My 9 month old daughter could've scored that!" "Oh very clever! VERY CLEVER!" "Why are you passing it back!? The goal's this way!" SHUT THE F'CK UP AND GET BEHIND THE TEAM!
  23. :) Barrowman would have loved the chances that Rooney missed on Sunday. I think he can offer us something this season along with our other strikers but only if we play in a manner that suits him and with someone like Sanchez playing up front along with some actual wingers then we might see Barrowman flourish instead of being asked to deal with long aimless punts up the park like he had to last season when he played. I don't think he will score 20 odd but I see no reason why he couldn't chip in with a good few goals for us over the course of the year.
