  1. Well deserved win as others have said. I was really surprised at how one dimensional Livingston were, there only tactics appeared to be to put the ball into the box and try and score like that. The football that was played was all by us in quite horrendous conditions. Quite common to have a poor referee but all 3 officials were incredibly poor today. From linesmen who couldn't get throw ins correct, or offsides on occasions and then waving only for fouls for Livingston to a ref who was happy to see fouls committed by us then turn a blind eye to similar ones committed by Livingston was very very poor. That he is allegedly one of our top referees beggars belief.
  2. In reality, they're not, it's just that they haven't had to spend 3 years in the Championship losing money, and even if they had, they had someone to bankroll them. It will end in tears at some point for them, may take a few years but it will happen.
  3. Agreed but if Saints won't pay the money for a transfer, not a lot we can do.l
  4. Surely they could only confirm when told by the player or St Johnstone
  5. All these comments on the postponement are pointless until we know the actual reason for pitch being unplayable. Heavy rain forecast for tonight maybe have been a contributory reason for the postponement as well as the distance QOS have to travel.
  6. Totally agree, a fantastic player and kinda shows up how the skills levels of today's players have declined.
  7. Fame at last. Thanks IHE but which one is me??
  8. Much better performance than against Dundee and the players seem to at last have got the fighting spirit that's needed. No failures throughout the team and a deserved MOM for Miles Storey. Ayr were poor but had it not been for their goalkeeper, it could easily have been five or six goals. Referee was poor again and, as Polo Chick said, we were denied at least one penalty and probably two.
  9. Back on topic about the team for Saturday, the only positions really up for changing are White, Doran and Curry. Walsh will replace either Doran or Curry almost certainly so one of them may retain their place. We need to try Todorov for a few games instead of White to try and develop a different style of play. The problem with White is that, despite his size, he is poor at winning and holding the ball up when it is punted up to him. When he doesn't retain the ball or win the header, the ball comes straight back to us from our opponents and puts us under pressure and this is what happened against United. His game intelligence is not good either while Todorov can see and make runs that White does not. Whit can score from good crosses into the box but, in my opinion needs too many chances to score a goal.
  10. A very strange interpretation of what Robbo said but you do interpret things in different ways to others. Does anyone seriously think Hearts will go for Robbo because I don't and I also don't think he would go as Hearts are in a complete mess at the moment.
  11. Don't agree with your team selection but agree 100% about the centre backs.

    Arrogance?

The dangers of texting and facebook etc is that people interpret things in their own way, if it doesn't suit their agenda, they attack it, if it is the other way, they praise it. Best, and simplest idea, would be to have held it on a Sunday perhaps?.
  13. Seriously, someone has Vincent as man of the match!!!?
  14. To be frank, there has been a lot of uncalled for negativety on this result. Had it not been for one minute of poor play, we would all have been celebrating being top of the league. Even after losing the equaliser, we almost won the game with Keating's free kick but luck didn't go for us. In essence, while we did not play particularly well, we still came so close to winning and if you can play badly and win you have a good chance of winning things. That said, midfield needs changing and it showed how much we missed Welsh. Vincent and Trafford were poor but especially Vincent who hardly passed forward all day and, again, failed to win or make a tackle all day while Trafford's tackling was beyond poor. When your central midfield fails to function, you will struggle in games. Final word on the referee who was the poorest we have had this season, and that is saying something. Inconsistent on giving fouls for similar offences, didn't give a blatant foul/penalty on White, ridiculous booking of Carson and how he and the linesman missed the blatant pull on Doran as he was racing through was incredible.
  15. Costs I'm sure as opening up a stand for so few fans is an extra expense we could do without.
  16. And we know what happened then?
  17. Many years ago, in Amsterdam on holiday and passed a kiosk selling papers, magazines, cigarettes etc. They also had posters for the latest Ajax game and you could buy tickets for the game. I did (ended up amongst the Ajax version of their casuals but that's another story!) so it doesn't need to be something fancy that needs to be set up.
  18. Agree with above. Should have been ahead at the end of the first half but the missed chances have come back to bite us. Actually said to the guy sitting next to me that White had his best game for ages at the end of the first half and he agreed but in the second half, he unfortunately reverted to the old Jordan White on many occasions. For his size, Jordon isn't nearly physical enough with defenders although in his defence, the amount of times he gets blatantly fouled by defenders, with nothing given, is unreal. All 3 Partick goals came from poor defending yesterday, first goal started when Vincent failed to tackle in midfield, the defence let the player run at them and it looked, albeit from a distance, that Ridgers could have done better as he was beaten at his near post. Second goal was coming all afternoon as we were frequently caught in possession trying to do silly things and the third goal, while well created and finished, we simply allowed the Partick player to run at us. The second goal was obviously crucial as it gave Partick confidence, especially Kenny Miller who then came alive and, in truth, we should have lost more goals. This against a poor Partick side is a real wake up call to us. Robbo needs to start getting a bit ruthless with certain players. Vincent was poor yesterday and cannot remember him making a tackle. This is where we lost the game in the second half as were overrun in midfield by Partick and don't think Robbo made the correct substitutions at the right time. I also think McGregor found it hard going at times, understandable of course as he needs more games at this level, but none of the other senior players seemed to be looking out for him and helping him on the park. While the referee did not influence the game, I thought he was poor. Missed many obvious fouls, for both sides, and seemed to think that if a player shouted when tackled or lay on the ground it had to be a foul regardless of whether the ball was cleanly won or not. How he took so long to book Fox for timewasting, when Fox was clearly taking the mickey out of the ref was really poor. Shake up in the attitudes of some players required for next week with a difficult trip to Ayr.
  19. And so the cheer leading, and coronation for the McGillivray's and Alan Savage begins??. Always be careful what you wish for.
  20. The sad thing is that, probably an extra 500 to 1000 fans each week would make a huge difference to the financial situation at the club. The city of Inverness appears to have no or little affinity from the public and probably not helped by local politicians who only come out of the woodwork to support the club when it is to their benefit to do so (David Stewart excepted). Maybe the club has to use the dreaded, use it or lose it ploy?
  21. Quotes wrong way round but have some board members already made substantial investments. The issue here is that not enough fans can be bothered to turn up each week and, in the Championship, that makes full time football difficult to sustain. Dunfermline, the Dundee clubs, Patrick Thistle and even Falkirk all attract substantially more fans than us. If we cannot attract more fans then part time football is the only solution. If that happens, the fans have only themselves to blame.
  22. Jordan White has his attributes but link up play certainly isn't one of them. Whether he was better yesterday, I cannot say as not at the game but that is something he really needs to work on.
  23. This is what we couldn't do last season, win ugly. We have to keep on grinding out results when not playing well, as County did last season, and we will be in the mix at the end of the season.
  24. Like many fans, I have not been immune to swearing at games but my language has never been like the sort used by Morton fans on Friday. The club make announcements before games and have notices posted around the ground about fan behaviour and inappropriate language yet this was openly condoned by the stewards and/or club condoned this by doing nothing. There was a genuinely nasty atmosphere being created by the Morton scum, sorry fans, there on Friday. Worst fan behaviour outside of the ugly sisters.
  25. First half was pretty even although Morton had probably the better chances. These however came from poor defensive clearances from us and misplaced passed by our midfield and defence. The second goal settled us and we started to defend a lot better and the whole team kicked on as a result. We have been quite poor defensively recently and if we can carry on with last night's improvement, things are looking up As for some posters criticising McCart, he has been our best defender this season whereas Donaldson has been a shadow of himself. Hopefully he will kick on with the improvement shown in the second half but needs to hugely improve on his distribution.
