League Improvement
As I said on P and B I am glad that this has gone through. The figures there are a sad indictment of how we have shafted our second tier clubs for so long. At least there will be some correction to this. My questions are that if the governing bodies have merged does this mean the end to an 11-1 vote? If all the clubs are operating under the same banner then surely any future vote will be between all 42 clubs? Does this have any effect on sponsorship/TV deals. If pre existing deals were for seperate organisations (SFL/SPL) then do they have to re-negotiate? How long until a pyramid system is in place? I saw the start of 2016/17 season on Twitter. I think its one of the key areas that we need to improve but I have a feeling this is where the problem will lie.

Pre-Season & Charlton away (merged)
If we are not planning on going far for pre season then I suggest we have pre season games against Nairn, Brora, Cove and Formartine as these are decent sides that would more than hold their own in the SFL3. I would like to see us be a bit more ambitious in the sides we play. We are normally slow starters.

Cup Run 13/14?
I don't see why not. We can beat any team in Scotland on a good day. We should be looking to go as far as possible.

Motherwell keen to do us a favour!
A mention of Rangers in the first sentence of the first par. Nice to see nothing ever changes.

It's time to choose....
Graham Spiers hat?

Europe:- The Final Countdown
I am not mocking the quality of the Welsh League (although I would put it at SFL2/3). The grounds are sparcley filled and remind me of Highland League grounds.
-
Europe:- The Final Countdown
I agree a trip to Ireland or Wales would be good. Although playing the Welsh teams would be a bit like a Highland League pre season game (Have you watched their league on S4C?).
-
Europe:- The Final Countdown
Comparing the standard of football in Scotland to the Irish or Welsh league is a gross exaggeration. Dougal are you Walter Smith in disguise? Playing in Europe gives us a chance of elite competition which everyone at the club should be desperate to achieve, even if it is only for two games. I think if we do qualify people will underestimate us and that is when we are at our best.

Europe:- The Final Countdown
Not getting Europe would be devastating, us not getting Europe and County getting it is just unthinkable. I think the last game of the season will be a nervy time.

St Mirren say "No"
I am glad we are voting "yes" simply for the financial distribution model. However, I do have my reservations about it. For example the 11-1 vote still being there is totally ridiculous. The split is utterly daft and to me it seems to be there to guarantee Old Firm games. Considering we are in a position where we have none of these games then why should this matter? For the greater good I will support Kenny Cameron on this because I don't want to see any clubs going to the wall.

Proud of the evident noise - Just saying
Have to say the atmosphere was a redeeming factor in the game, gutted I couldn't be there.

Our worst ever XI
It was before my time but I remember reading about Vetti Anderson in Steve Paterson's book. Didn't he throw a hissy fit and was never seen again?
-
McKay's worth
Priceless to us at the moment considering how many goals he was scoring. I wouldn't accept less than 2 million for him.
-
6th minute applause for Terry Butcher
It may not have happened in the 6th minute but later on in the game I felt the atmosphere was pretty good.

League Cup Semi Final v. Hearts Build Up
Booked my ticket this morning. I think a few of my friends are planning the game too. Really looking forward to this one, with any luck we take a decent support through to cheer the lads on to the final.

Contract talks
His loss in my opinon (assuming he leaves).

Even the Daily Ranger has noticed us
I wouldn't pay any notice as to what the Daily Record (Ranger) and Michael Gannon say. That particular publication isn't known for telling the truth. Also why would I want to pay to read what is essentially someones opinion in a paper when I can come on here and read the opinions of people much more knowladgable for free. There was clearly no thought put in to writing that article and thats the reason papers like that are dying off. They become more irrelevant as every day goes by. This is coming from someone who with any luck will have a degree in journalism soon. Also I have read figures that say our average gate is up on last season? Although we are the cheapest ground to visit in the SPL how does that compare with the average wage in the area? Our crowds have consdierably grown in less than 20 years and in my opinion will grow in the next 20 years. Thats more than can be said for the Daily Record's readership.

Aberdeen match
The boy is mistaken to leave the SPL for a League One team (waits for someone to tell me its a better standard). While I'm sure its a good standard if he holds out at Aberdeen and actually plays first team football he could become a much better player. If he plays on Saturday I'm sure he will be knocked about the park (or so the ofter grumpy Dons fans would have you believe).

Clach v Cove Rangers
Why don't we just go and stand in the wine shed (or where it used to be) and shout instead? My alternitive will have to be Off the Ball and Football Manager.
-
Clach v Cove Rangers
I am thinking of heading down to this. I have a friend (a Celtic season ticket holder) who goes to watch Clach a lot so I might see if he'll go too.

If only we could be so lucky........
Is one season a record for the shortest time a club played in the Scottish setup?

Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put***
Fantastic news. It is such a rarity to see somoene in football not think just about the money. Like my rant on the front of the Courier said this week he has the chance to do something great here and I firmly believe he will. Best of luck Terry. Its a pleasure to know your staying at the club.
