Sorry but do you have the slightest idea about the rules of the game. The ref doesn't think oh he had a bad injury last season so it's ok for him to assault the other player. He did the wrong thing and he was correctly punished for it the ref had an easy decision No need to get too personal ! The OP makes a valid point as to why he may have over-reacted, or let the 'red mist' get the better of him and maybe TB will take that in mitigation when any internal discussions take place in terms of disciplinary action. However, it is also correct to say, that regardless of any mitigating factors we might be able to come up with after the fact, the ref simply applied the rules the way he has to. Like last week in the case of St Mirren's Lewis Guy, he raised his hands (or head in this case) and therefore has to go ... no argument, no excuses, and no leeway for a yellow regardless of how much we as ICT fans might like to mitigate the decision and hope for it ....
  2. Caleytillidie - I am not going to quote most of your post and respond to it as its already been done ..... I actually agree with the point you are making (the low attendance etc), however, I cant help feel you are aiming your potshots at entirely the wrong group. I will however quote that one part of your post and ask the same question as I have asked anyone who has ever asked that type of question before ...... What have you done?, or given that you happily used the expression "we", then what are some of your suggestions that could be collaborated on ......?
  3. Just for the record (and off the top of my head so not exact) .... Rossco got sent of something like 9 times in nearly 600 appearances for ICT ..... thats 1 every 60+ games or something like that ... so once every 2 seasons !!! Didnt have the benefit of commentary or eyesight on this one, but the text feed I was watching made it sound like nasty tackle by Fowler and then red mist descending ..... it happens !!! Discipline the guy sure, but to say he should never wear an ICT shirt again may be a little OTT for OTJ
  4. Robbo service resumed and he called the Esson save before it happened !!!!
  5. yeah, not Robbo :(
  6. Andy Shinnie :) 1-0
  7. sounds like Dons game when I checked it a minute ago .... may be switching back and forth. Hopefully one of our users who works for MFR can clarify what to expect .........
  8. not sure which game MFR are doing, but no, the live BBC game is the County game ..... BBC are no longer covering all SPL games ... just doing a single game live and OAM for the others .... except Rangers games of course ! A retrograde step in my opinion ....... very short sighted On the plus side - we have Robbo at the TCS today on OAM and he is a lot more interesting to listen to than Brian Irvine !
  9. All square in the Highlands Kilmarnock's long trip to Inverness saw them take a point from an open game, which keaves both clubs looking for their first win of the season. Andrew Shinnie netted the opener for Inverness in the eighth minute but Manual Pascali equalised deep into stoppage time at the interval. Danny Racchi had an opportunity to score Killie's first goal but Ryan Esson made a superb double save to deny the Killie sub. Sell out Saturday was not what it said on the tin as a sparse away crowd was sprinkled across the away stand and the home fans bathed in sunshine on a beautiful summer afternoon. Only 3012 made the effort to watch this SPL encounter. Killie drew the first trick of the day and made Inverness play towards the North Stand in the first half. Not many knew what to expect for the first home game and it was pleasing to see Inverness trying to play the ball on the deck. The home side started briskly and forced Kilmarnock onto the back foot and within four minutes the visitors brought on Danny Racchi for the injured Gary Harkins. A serious of forays forward saw Inverness win a corner and from this Aaron Doran's ball was played to Shinnie via Draper and he knocked the ball in fron the angle of the six yard box to confirm the home sides bright start to the match. The home fans were certainly encouraged by the opening twenty minutes and the tricky Doran should have doubled the lead as he bore down on goal, but Bell stood tall and blocked the effort which was eventually scrambled clear by the under pressure Killie defence, one attempt being cleared off the line. However, the early flurry from Inverness quickly dissipated and Kilmarnock realised they could give us a contest and the game then became more even with Killie now starting to dominate possession without really threatening to score. A Doran free kick from 25 yards was comfortably gathered by Cammy Bell as the game became stretched but on the half hour mark Racchi was upended in the box by Draper as Killie began to turn the screw. He dusted himself down and took the penalty himself but Esson reacted brilliantly and threw himself to the right to block the shot, then managed to block the rebound from Dayton to keep Inverness ahead. Not content with saving the penalty, we released the ball quickly and Shane Sutherland drove straight at the heart of the Killie defence but his 20 yard effort was easily saved by Bell. James Dayton left the field on a stretcher after 36 minutes to be replaced by Rory McKenzie as Killie shuffled the pack once more before half time. However, the five minutes of added time became a significant factor as Killie pressed for an equaliser before half time and as Inverness failed to clear another corner, Manual Pascali was on hand to bundle home a scrappy goal to level the contest in the 47th minute. Half Time 1-1 The game continued in the same vein after the break with both sides looking to get the winner. Doran, McKay and Sutherland all tried their luck with Shane being the only one to work the keeper, as the game became a bit tousy with a series of free kicks disrupting the flow of the game. Inverness were fortunate not to fall behind as a free header went over the bar as Killie pushed forward, Liam Kelly squandering that opportunity, but chances went abegging at both ends, Kelly firing wide in another burst forward. We saw a new side to Owain Tudur-Jones as the big Welshman literally saw red. As he surged forward with ten minutes to go, Fowler lived up to his name and brought down the gentle giant. He was booked for that, but not before big Owain thrust his head in the direction of Fowler's face and rightly was given a straight red for his rush of blood to the head. Inverness brought on Gavin Morrison in an attempt to hold onto the point we had and we almost snatched all three but for a fantastic point blank save from Cammy Bell as he denied substitute Nick Ross the winner from Raven's cross. Still time for Killie to make the home fans sweat as another free header went wide from Nelson and Esson saved a Kelly free kick but the home side held on for a deserved point. Full Time 1-1 Overall, a point each was about right in an entertaining game where both sides always looked for a winner. Both keepers were outstanding and not for the first time Bell denied Inverness with some wonderful stops. Esson came back well after last weeks loose display and his double save at the penalty was superb. Doran started brightly but faded as the game wore on and the defence grew in confidence the longer they played together. Men of the Match:- Both keepers made match winning saves and it's difficult to split them, Bell's save at the end from Ross had us all holding our head in our hands in disbelief. 10 th Aug 2012 Scottish Premier League Tulloch Caledonian Stadium Inverness C.T. 1 - A.Shinnie (8) TEAM: Esson, King, Warren, Raven, G.Shinnie, Tudur-Jones, A.Shinnie (Morrison 81), Draper, Doran, Sutherland (Oswell 90), McKay (Ross 67) SUBS: Mathieson, Meekings, Polworth, Laing Booked: King (32) Sent Off: Tudur-Jones (79) Kilmarnock 1 - Pascali (45) TEAM: Bell, Fowler, Nelson, O'Leary, Tesselaar, Johnson, Harkins (Racchi 4), Dayton (McKenzie 37), Kelly, Pascali, Kennedy (Boulding 75) SUBS: Letheren, Pursehouse, McKeown, Winchester Booked: Fowler (81) Sent Off: none Referee Brian Colvin Attendance 3012

  14. My tuppenceworth Guy raised his hands to Draper and ref was watching. Ref had no hesitation and the player didnt protest so that tells me more than any debate we might have ! There is some debate in the thread as to whether it was 'violent conduct' or not .. really its irrelevant and just semantics. you raise your hands to another player and that falls within the definition. You dont need to cripple a player for it to be classed as violent conduct. The sending off may be harsh, but this ref had already issued more cards than most people do at Xmas so no surprise for him to pull out another ... you have just been through 90 minutes of that bullshit, so the player was stupid to draw the card in that manner. The mobile phone video evidence is inconclusive, and it wont be shown on any official highlight reel as it may be classed as 'controversial' but eye witness accounts from St Mirren fans posted above seem to support the notion that the red was deserved, or at least a yellow. the colour of the card is down to the ref. Draper went down and stayed down. Based on what I saw in the clip, and the assertion from some that he got a (possibly accidental) closed fist in the eye after the ball was thrown towards his face, its not unusual. He was blindsided by the player from behind, got a ball in the face then a poke in the eye to boot ... most of us would go down purely because it caught us unawares and a poke in the eye isnt pleasant. Conclusion .... Draper - not a diver, Guy - dickhead. case closed
  15. just for reference - the history of our sponsorship dates from sponsoring Grant Munro before he was a first team regular up until he left ..... reason we chose Grant when he was a raw youngster ..... because he was a raw local youngster happy to be guided by the group as a whole, but no-one seems to have an issue continuing the sponsored player from last year
  16. We would be happy to do so for any Caley, Thistle, or ICT related book if we had permissions to do so from the relevant copyright holders. The author did much of the legwork required in obtaining the additional permissions required for us to be able to put Against All Odds online ... not sure of the current copyright status of the others ...... but if someone wants to check, our resources are here to host it
  17. Graham is Kenny again
  18. no real cutoff as such. once the season starts and we commit to our renewal(s) though, then thats it, we close it off.
  19. Its a risk .... but I disagree with one part of CaleyD's logic .... I know you will have figures to back up what your typing and recent experience of organising buses, but lets just assume for a minute they make £150 per bus profit as you noted .... in the end, it doesnt matter how much it is, if its profit, its profit whether its 1 bus @ £150 or 10 buses @ £1500 .... and then you add program sales, food sales, and any other commercial revenue they can generate and it could be a nice little earner for them .... of course it could backfire spectacularly too, but thats the risk .... In my opinion, the flaw is in thinking that the 150/200 or even 300 will turn up without incentive ... They may do and in that case your logic is sound ... but times are tough and they may struggle to get that level... I would think Couny might know how many tickets have been sold so far and are obviously targeting the "additionals" that might be swayed by a free trip for this one in the hope that the 300 becomes 500 or 700, and every "additional" is money coming in that would not have come in before.
  20. its complicated ...... Basically the fee can range from 0% to 7.4% depending on location of payer, payment method, amount and currency. There is also a transaction fee on top of that and a currency conversion fee as my paypal account is in Canadian dollars even though I maintain a balance in both US and UK currencies and it goes straight to one of those balances. On a £11 player sponsorship membership, our net fee received is a few pennies over the £10 required. If you were making a straight payment and bypassing the player sponsor form, I believe there would still be fees involved based on location (ie. cross border), payment method, currency etc. I looked back on some transactions made from UK via paypal or echeque / bank transfer and it seems to range from 0.5% to 1.0% for those ... I dont actually see any payments made into my account where there wasnt a fee ... might be because I have an upgraded account that can take (a higher level and quantity of) credit card payments rather than a standard personal account.
  21. why should I be scared ? We already beat Vancouver with Robson in the side ... and we just signed Hassli to replace the injured Koevermans
  22. took the doc straight from the SPL website ... the regs haven't (officially) changed since 2007 ..... Guess Vlad is perhaps taunting them
  23. From SPL ....... http://www.scotprem.com/content/mediaassets/doc/Playing%20Kit%20Sponsorship%20Regulations%20%28CURRENT%20Approved%20by%20Board%2017.05.07%29.pdf The Shirt A Club may also include a sponsor or advertiser on the front of the shirt. 24. Never saw that one coming !!! just wait till he experiences Winter !!!! not quite 'Winterpeg' but damn cold there in a few months time Its a bit below MLS but from having seen them play Toronto FC in the Canadian Championships I would have to say Edmonton are a decent enough team who have ambitions to improve .. rapidly if possible. They were only formed in 2010. Just a few weeeks ago I was telling someone about Barry Robson being the only ex-ICT player in MLS ... now we could end up with Robson at Vancouver, Proctor in Edmonton, and Fetai at Montreal !
  25. The club are considering adding photo prints as part of the merchandise lineup ... Initially the idea is to make some available for purchase that focus on club icons/legends or memorable matches ... and they have asked us to post this request to get some additional ideas from fans as to which players and events/matches really stand out for us ..... and which would be popular enough to sell ..... S0 .... Which games ? Which players ? Which events ? For my own part, I think the Paul Sheerin image (and just about any other) from that Celtic game has to be there. I would also like to see official team photos made available each year. As for icons ... we have had a few ... Rossco, Denzil, Stewarty, Calder, Bobby, Barry ... the managers .... much to choose from ....
