Dougie Imrie
yeah - I did notice the comment about it being a wrench to leave his family in the courier version of the article .... "At first I was a bit wary about moving so far away from my family but once I had spoken to Craig and talked things through I was pleased about the move." - FULL ARTICLE hopefully he will do well, the fans will take to him, and he will find it to be an ever bigger wrench to leave Inverness when the time comes

Dougie Imrie
I like his attitude ..... "Being able to play in a couple of positions, I hope, widens the chance of getting a game. It's all down to hard work and playing well every week that gives you the chance and that's what I'm looking for. There are a number of players who have come in from the lower leagues to clubs like Inverness and Dundee United and I want to show what I can do against the so-called bigger teams. I offer a lot in terms of my work-rate, I always give 110 per cent and I have an eye for goal. This is a team game and I'm here to work my socks off for Inverness." full story HERE

Hope this doesn't happen to us!
Caley Thistle V Gretna in the Maracana ..... very appealing :029: What a load of f@#%&*g nonsense ....... another step in the inevitable process of taking the game away from the grass roots fans. Overseas friendlies - fine. Overseas mini 'Cups' hosted by another team - fine ... but not league games. Having said that ... the NFL have just approved something similar. The Buffalo Bills - a team that is declining badly - has been given permission to stage a total of 8 games in Toronto over the next 5 years. 1 regular season game per year plus 3 friendlies. I guess thats not really surprising as MLS, NHL, MLB and NBA all have a mixture of Canadian and American teams but the NFL has no Canadian teams (yet). Some see this as the first step in an eventual takeover and relocation of the Bills when the current owner dies as the heirs to the guys estate have little interest in the NFL.

Police and Stewards
from the ICT supporters charter ICT agree ... "To abide by the rules and ground regulations of football's Governing bodies regarding the allocation of tickets to visiting clubs." I don't have a copy of the SPL Rules, and there is nothing that I can see in UEFA rules other than we are obliged to give the away team 5% of tickets, but the SPL Stadium regulations as posted on club sites says ..... "18. The Club reserves the right for its servants, stewards, and agents, and for members of the police forces to remove from the Stadium any person who does NOT COMPLY WITH STADIUM REGULATIONS AND WITH THE RULES AND REGULATIONS of The Scottish Football Association, the Scottish premier League, The Scottish Football League and/or, where applicable, the Regulations of the FIFA/UEFA Competitions or whose presence in the Stadium is or could reasonable be construed as constituting a source of danger, nuisance or annoyance to other spectators." Think there have been enough posts recently to suggest that away fans - or at least those who openly show they are away fans - are constituting both an annoyance and nuisance to other spectators ... so now its over to ICT to comply with their own customer charter.

Duncan
I would like all three to re-sign for the club, and for the club to offer them decent wages. None of them should be under any illusions that they should be in the Niculae bracket for wages but lets hope the club are also not playing silly beggars by making (allegedly) derisory offers that saw us lose players in the past. We don't need (or have a right) to know the details of the contracts, but lets just hope common sense prevails on both sides and they can be tied up with the minimum of fuss behind closed doors and we can move on.

Anthem For ICT???
some of the music is a bit 'tinny' or 'midi ringtone' like but I am sure that was because it was a quick example .... the overall tune/lyrics are pretty good and I must admit I have already changed the lyrics to something similar to that anytime I have heard that song over the last few years .... would be a good song for ICT - known, recognisable and not too difficult for people to learn the words. a winner.

GRETNA RESIGN FROM SFL
The difference is that we fought to get in, campaigned for rule changes that would benefit other teams in Division 1 (which we got), and then made **** sure we complied with the now relaxed new rules that we had to follow regarding stadium criteria and groundsharing. Gretna on the other hand were happy enough to follow the same route we took (groundsharing) but dont seem to have done a single thing regarding upgrading Raydale other than blustering on about the "Eco-Dome" or complaining they have to have 6000 seats for a place with less than that of a population. Whats to stop them doing a Falkirk and having "tents for stands" or from doing an ICT and having slightly more costly temporary stands ? - they will certainly have received enough money to pay for this from SPL payments I have posted before that I think the winners of Div 1 should come up no matter what, and i stand by that. My proposal has always been that the champs come up and if they dont have a compliant stadium, they get that season in the SPL (with all that extra money) to make it compliant. I would even go so far as to extend that a little from the March 31st deadline to the end of the season or start of the next if they were in the middle of the building works ... but in Gretna's case, they have done absolutely nothing to try and become compliant .....

balloons for saint mirren away
probably not - best to take them in un-inflated and blow them up once you are inside. the only other way would be to talk to St Mirren beforehand and ask if it was ok. I am guessing they might say no and give you a story about it interfering with play or causing too much mess (ie litter) to be picked up after the game.

Better or Worse After Transfers?
On the basis that we - sold Rankin (1st team regular) - let Caff go on loan (defensive cover) - basically told McDonald & Hart they could go - called the bluff of Tokely, Wyness and Duncan by offering what is alleged to be only average deals - mentioned in the press that the Wilson and Paatelainen contracts may or may not be renewed and then signed Imrie who may or may not prove to be a good signing. I would say we are a lot worse off. The only other good thing is that we did manage to tie up a deal for McGuire too.

GRETNA RESIGN FROM SFL
It was made clear to them (as it was to us when we got in) that they could only groundshare for one season. On that basis, unless they have a 6000 seat stadium ready by whatever date is required (still end March ?) then they have no-one to blame but themselves. if they had started building one and needed extra time from March - June or something like that to finish it then fair enough, but it has all been talk of the 'eco' stadium with little or no action.

Will we ever sign an established SPL player?
Caleyboy - the question was "Will we ever sign an established SPL player?" ... you can dismiss how they came to be at ICT, but the three examples were all SPL quality. 2 of the 3 were in the SPL when we signed them, and the other was approaching 200 SPL games. manager lure 28 appearances for Hibs ... 25 in SPL, 95 appearances for Dunfermline ... 77 in SPL signed when Pars were in SPL. :024: 124 appearances for Livingston ... 66 in SPL (2 in UEFA Cup) ... signed when Livi were in SPL was firmly established in pars first division reserves 180 appearances for Aberdeen ... 153 in SPL, 32 appearances for Dunfermline ... 25 in SPL. He might have been signed when the Pars were in Div 1 but you cant argue he has an experienced SPL pedigree.
