  1. Two signed team shirts from Celtic V ICT game in 2000 - real 'squad' shirts, not signed replica tops.
  2. correct - and as others said after that, it was the final game of the 2002/03 season, the last game at Brockville and also the game where Falkirk were presented with the title for that season .... not to mention a lap of honour by the Highland Marchers
  3. Ok ... where am I, and why is the ground so full that some cameramen had to resort to extremely long poles from outside !! [had to make it B&W as colour would give it away :004:]
  4. That would sum up my feelings also. I remember the paint tin episode and didnt he also have some kind of incident with a water bottle somewhere else ?? Having said that, if Charlie were to leave (and this is not a call for his head !!) then the wee ned is probably one of those you might consider based on his ability rather than personality. If you were going for personality then I would choose Yogi Hughes ... he gets good banter with the fans and doesnt seem to be doing all that badly. With Yogi though, you would also have to get someone to do the interviews as his are cringeworthy (when understandable).
  5. great news.

  9. Richard - I agree with what you say but the bottom line is that there is nowhere else for it to go for the TEST. The uncovered wings are the only part of the stadium where you can be certain of not displacing users from their normal seats as there are no season tickets for those areas. As LG has said, the other end was not considered because of safety issues or the fear that some of the "munch bunch" might be woken from their slumber. I am sure the club will be well aware of the acoustic problem of that area and will be more interested in the quantity of people who go there for this test. If it is a success then ideally a section of the north stand behind the goals would be perfect for next season - if people who dont want to sing can be persuaded to give up seats to accomodate it . We are quick to have a go at the club (and chief exec) if we think they have screwed something up so fair play to them (and LG) for acting quickly on this suggestion to see if it has merit.
  10. surprised you two dont know each other :003: me - I work as a software administrator for an engineering firm. I purchase most of our CAD/Engineering software, maintain our network license servers, write up all our installation instructions and pretty much anything else involving the 200 or so packages I look after. Biggest disappointment ... my job involves contact with our company offices in every part of the world and quite often I have to perform various actions on servers in those locations .... but being an IT guy, in an IT position, most of it can be done via remote desktop / VPN so there is no need to jump on a plane :009:

    Rory

Yeah Paul McStay did have great potential when he was young - a potential world superstar in some people's eyes - and even though he played for many years in the top flight with Celtic many still argue that he never reached the heights expected of him when he wouldnt move down south or to the continent. I think Rory has potential but is more in the mould of Bavidge than McStay. Bavidge looked the part initially but unfortunately didnt progress beyond a certain level and as we all know he went back to the real world while playing part-time football 'at his level'. Rory is perhaps a victim of the expectation placed upon him and may benefit by taking a step backwards on loan before he can move forwards .... at the end of the day he will find his level, and it would be nice if that could be a consistent scorer for ICT !!!
  14. Yes, I remember him sitting quietly in the corner chatting with loads of fans over the course of the night. I also recall me drunkenly telling him "Wish you wouldnt go, but good luck ... we know you'll be back when we get to the SPL" :015: :015: :015: - a psychic moment second only to IHE's daily psychotic psychic episodes.

    Rory

If they are good enough, they are old enough. How old was Wayne Rooney when he first broke into the premiership ? He seems to have gone downhill ever since (no doubt because of some of his off-field antics), but he was a feckin revelation when he first burst onto the scene. so lets look at Rory ..... Rory has potential, we have heard that from many people so there must be something there. Most of us realise and have said in various threads over the last few years that DP is an immense judge of youth talent. If Rory was gash in training and gash on the park I am sure that DP would have had a word in Charlie's ear and told him that in his opinion, this was one youth who was not going to realise his potential. But no, Rory still makes the squad and onto the park so CC and DP obviously do see potential in training that doesnt seem to be getting transferred to first team football in the SPL at the moment. Regardless of how bad the Scotland squad might be, he would not make it into it if he was truly awful. People were raving about how good Rory played against Celtic and many thought he had 'arrived'. Sadly, in the following games he didnt play anything like as well as he had in that game so the fans have also had a glimpse of that potential albeit a far too brief glimpse. IMHO. Rory needs a couple of things - consistency and confidence - right now he has neither and although posters have a right to comment on what they think of a players performance, we are not helping him by being so negative. I have said it on other threads, and I agree with those who have said it on here and elsewhere that I think Rory would benefit from a full season loan to a lower division side (County?, Peterhead? Elgin?) where he can hopefully flourish, start scoring goals and increase both his confidence and his consistency. As I have pointed out in the past, Barry Robson once told me that he did not like it one little bit when he trained in Inverness all week but then went to Forfar at weekends to play for them. However, he came back as a far better and more confident player (although just as gurny) and is now captaining an SPL side. Perhaps Rory should train at ICT during the week and turn out for County at weekends ? it worked for Barry, no reason why it couldnt work for him.

decent signing. would prefer it if we could persuade Dargo to stay aswell though.

    SPL XI

Cant really argue with any of those selections ..... From an ICT perspective (with the tinted glasses on) we could perhaps suggest that any of our regular back 4 plus Rankin, Black and Wilson might have been considered as all these players featured on a thread on P&B as our best players in the eyes of opposition fans. If Dargo had managed a full season he might also have got a shout on the subs bench behind Boyd / Naismith
  18. Dunfermline to beat the Buddies .... and then ICT to beat them on the last day to send them down (and secure 7th spot for ourselves) .... deep joy Aberdeen to finish third - for all the jokes about his tan, Calderwood has done pretty well. Think both he and Craig Levein have done a decent job proving that what was once called "the new firm" can bounce back after years in the wilderness. still find it strange that both Paterson and McCall failed at those respective clubs after being undoubted management stars in the first division.
  19. maimie - you've got mail :004: The best supporters club do I have been to was the night in the Corriegarth in 2003 - that was excellent. a small enough venue to make it busy and enough people there to make it enjoyable. It also helped that Robbo came along with his 'party head' on and brought a few of the players with him. Wonder if "The Fly" still has his blazer ..... or maybe I am just being sentimental as I remember the Internutters / Marchers serenading me with a rendition of "leaving on a jetplane" as I was heading for Canada a week later ....
  20. I hope Dargs does, but just for information - Admin have issued a 24 hour ban to roscoe23 for the torrent of personal abuse directed at several posters. next time it is a week, if it happens after that it is sine-die. There is no need for it and it will no longer be tolerated.
  21. Seems to be a newswire story doing the rounds with similar content / comments Bayne Comments in P&J Dargo in Scotsman Scotsman Match Report - and a bit about Dargo The same quote seems to be in most of them and seems genuine and honest ..... "Inverness have offered me a contract, I've said to the manager it's a big move for me in the summer and I want to weigh up all my options, I won't do anything underhand to Caley Thistle - I've got great respect for the club and the manager. If anything happens then I'll tell him. I'll hopefully know more myself in the next five or six weeks because, for my fiancee as well, it will be a big thing if we are moving. But I might be staying here, it's up in the air right now." "Inverness have made a decent offer but no matter what the offer was, I was never going to rush in and sign straight away. There are a few clubs interested so I'm waiting to see what's on the table to make the best decision for me and my family." You cant argue with those comments - He has made it clear he does not want away from the club, but he has also made it clear that whatever decision he makes will be for the good of him and his family. Respect.
  22. such a dilemma ...... I do not like County, never have, never will, but I dont dislike them enough to want them relegated two divisions below us. While County are in the first, both clubs can get some mutual benefit .... We can attract good players from them like John Rankin, and we can send players who need match experience to them to get it at a reasonable level. I also prefer St Johnstone to Gretna so in that respect want this to happen on Saturday ... County to beat Gretna - avoiding the automatic drop for County and putting the icing on a spectacular collapse by Gretna. QOS to beat Airdrie United - I like QOS and Jim Traynor annoys me so seeing Airdrie relegated and hearing him whine will be fine. St Johnstone to beat Hamilton - Super Js back to the SPL and a short road trip for ICT fans next season (happy time for SJ fan Liz at the stadium too ;)).
  23. If we are saying 'give youth a chance' then it might have been an idea to give Stuart Soane a spell in midfield or to see how it would have gone with Markus on the left and Zander on the right with Richie Hart pushing into an attacking central midfield role. My preference would have been to have Zander on and tell both him and Markus to run at the opposition every chance they got. Markus seems to do that well in the games he has been involved in and Zander did it in the few games he was on the park for .... Having both of them do it in the same game against an opposition that was mediocre - on the day - might have caused havoc in the opposition defence. It wouldnt work for every game, but it just might have done for this one. It might even have been the right game to put Rory and/or McSwegan on the park. The damage was done, Well didnt look like coming back into it, and maybe one or both of them could have grabbed a confidence-boosting goal. In any event, we cant complain too much as we got all three points and points certainly make prizes (or higher prize money) in the SPL !!! I can only imagine the slagging CC would have got had he taken on Zander, Rory and McSwegan and we had gone on to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory .... Now that we are mathematically safe from relegation perhaps CC might be tempted to be a little more adventurous in selecting one or more of the youngsters for each game but with 70k between each finishing spot, I would be happy enough if he chose not to and we do what we did last year and win our final 5 ......
  24. no nicknames, no company names and I imagine they would want to verify/validate any 'quirky' names .... although its all moot now as the closing date for applications was at the end of March.
  25. It was £100 to get your name on the top and for that you also get a commemorative shirt with the names shown so you could say its real cost is about £60 as a replica top costs just under £40. The design itself is pretty good and will probably be a good seller and although it might sound a little dodgy, it didnt look too bad with the names fitting into a panel in the centre on front/back of shirt Article {HERE} although the picture shown only has about 50 names on it so the real thing will use a much smaller font size I would assume.
