  8. Alex MacLeod Posted Today, 05:04 PM As things stand at the moment we are not sitting too bad in this league. No team will ever dominate it. The top will change each week. This week Partick go top. Queen's get stuffed by Morton. Thats how it'll be all season. The season we won it we see-sawed between fifth and top for many weeks of the season. Every season since, the first has been the same, barring last season where St J commanded. We are still in touch with the top and probably will be right to the end. Wins against Queen's and Kircaldy and we're back at the top. My mates a sainty's fan, remember making fun of him last season early on about their start, he didnt reckon they'd make top half, had a quick look at their scores... 1st game 2-0 win at home against livi 2nd game 2-2 draw away to morton 3rd game 3-0 DEFEAT at home to dunfermline 4th game 4-0 DEFEAT away to partick 5th game 3-2 DEFEAT at home to clyde 6th game 2-1 win away to county 7th game 2-2 draw away to queens thats only 8 points from their opening 7 games, including some stinking scores, and they ended up winning the league by 10 points, so maybe their isnt as much need to panic as everyone is suggesting. It is a tough league and maybe we need a bit more time to settle in. Just a theory, but if saint j's still went on to "command" the league after a worse start than us then perhaps there is some hope left. p.s. they then went on to win their next 6 games!
  9. good to see steve fletcher scoring for burnley, he's doing better than i expected down south
  10. I live in leeds too, we should chip in and by sky, or maybe get them to wap it on that tv in that big square
  11. see what you're trying to say, but dont think it would work. Best solution would probably be for you to pocket the cash and settle in in front of Jeff and the boys

knida disagree with you guys so far, completley agree that he dived but to give him a 2 game ban and then no-one else one is stupid. They should of banned him and then studied every champ league game till the end of the season and banned every one of them. Also they gave him a 2 match ban which is 4 times the normal diving punishment (a yellow card) so all in all it was obvious knee-jerk reaction to the furore caused by the sfa. Funny that they remove the ban the day the group stages began, i wonder if they realised that rooney and ronaldo are both playing tonight and cant be bothered with the inevitable agro. That all said i reckon they do need to sort it out, think the 2 match ban would have worked if they give everyone else the same punishment, banning one man because of some media withc hunt was a stupid idea, got to be all or nothing
  17. someone on ssn (charlie nicholas i think) said he thought elvis would be the one to go, something about fall outs between him and a few players. Nicholas did also say he thought that there should be big changes in the backroom staff, be interesting to see what happens...
  18. shame we couldnt have won by a few, got a couple more of the schoolboys on, still, wins a win
  19. with regard to the faroe islands, i imagine they would be there for work. Did a study in iceland a few years back, there was a ton of chinese workers there, building a massive smelting thingy i think (it was a few years ago). Few of them played a bit i think. Anyways i would reckon its some brazillians who have come to europe looking for work and have been picked up by some fishing company and posted there, just my guess
  20. That is some brainwave but im pretty sure most lower league scottish teams are aware that a high quality of player exists in south america and africa, and perhaps in fiji. There are some fairly obvious reasons why we cant fill our team with south americans. How do you suppose we scout these lower league Brazilians? Brazil is a big place. Or do we fly a bunch or randoms over and hope for the best. South America is ever so slightly less developed than Britain, most brazilians never leave their state, let alone country. I cant imagine these players would be overly keen on stumping up on flights to london and then on to inverness, do we pay all costs and take very expensive punts? Are we nice enough to buy return flights for them? But hey, if you've seen some documentaries...
  21. great last save, a fair few shocking pens in there tho. Tokelys unsaveable
  22. I check this forum a fair bit (currently living down south, like to know how the teams doing), dont post as much as i perhaps should, but the feeling i get from threads such as this is that certain people seem to post in order to improve their virtual reputation... Theres a mildly interesting shopping forum called hotuk deals, people post good deals found online/in shops, everyone else rejoices, hoorah! But on the site there is at times a ridiculous battle to post deals first, mainly the obvious ones that everyone knows are coming but need to wait for the links to appear, people argue a lot about who got there first yadayada. Im finding this site reads a lot like it now... The amount of people that use phrases such as 'mark my words' or similar in order to imply they are the first to think something is pretty funny. I basically get the impression that people express views on here such as 'sack butcher or we'll go down' or unvail the next ludicrous transfer rumour (not so common to be fair) just so that in the odd chance that we do (which we wont) they can quote themselves (im sure they bookmark their original predictions) and bask in some sort of bizzare glorly they believe they are receiving across the old interweb. To sumarise: forum threads here get proposterous as people believe suggesting something (anything) first could down the line gain them some credibility.
  23. golabek is running the show!
  24. not that bad a draw, butcher going back to his old club, maybe this time he'll be able to get the players up for it. Motherwell are still a completley unknown quantity and may well use the game to play some of the new lads/fringe players
  25. gulp
