  1. I don't think we will have much say in who we are keeping as most are out of contract or on loan. I can't see Fisher staying especially if Ritchie remains in charge. Relegation will likely see us having to start from scratch which is a huge worry!!!

    Captain

Was it names in a hat for captain and the starting 11!
  3. How pathetic, not very imaginative and surely we have more worrying things to think about. We should just let everyone in for free on Saturday as I can see very few non-season ticket holders turning up.
  4. I can't (or can I) believe Ritchie has come out and said we just need 4 wins / 12 points - he has lost the plot as have the Board!
  5. FFS Ritchie! Another defeat, not a surprise as we don't do clean sheets, the only positive is it was 1-0. We needed changes from Sat as Brad and King were terrible, but Anier in the starting 11! Two up front against Aberdeen yet One up front v Kilmarnock! Before the game Ritchie was talking up Anier "he saw a glint in his eye", "he had a great game for Estonia" and to round it all off he was "MOM against County" (really). Anier has been hopeless, he is good at fouling and getting caught offside end off.... He brings on Fisher and Ebbe - yet on Sat Ebbe can't get on and Fisher is not even on the bench. He drops McCart who has performed better than Warren, he hasn't the bottle to drop Warren who scores the winner for the DONS! Against Killie, Laing was wasted in front of the defence, Draper played out of position - is Ritchie pulling the names out of a hat these days. Against St Johnstone I suggest: Fon Williams McNaughton, Laing, McCart, Tremarco Polworth, Tansey, Draper, Mulraney Mckay, Fisher 3 point on Sat or we are doomed!
  6. Having witnessed an excellent performance at Tynecastle we have not pushed on. At Tynecastle we hade a new central back pairing and Polworth & Cole played with great energy (along with the rest of the team) who pressed Hearts for 90 mins to get a good result. Anier came on and spent most of his time offside or losing the ball and was no better against Ross County. Richie has bottled dropping a centre back, personally I think Laing is first choice so who should be dropped Warren or McCart? Against County we had NO pace (King!!!) in the team and I don't think 5 at the back made a difference as Tremarco and Raven get forward anyway. A back four with a 'switched on' sitting midfielder (Draper) would allow Tremarco / Raven to go forward knowing that Draper can drop back to make a four. We need to score goals and 4-4-2 is more likely to succeed as even playing a 5-3-2 doesn't result in a clean sheet! Anier is a waste of time, Fisher is the perfect partner for Mackay, he would press the opposition with Mackay and between them I think they would create far more chances. And what does anyone see in Vigurs, he doesn't press or track back and loves to point the finger at everyone else. I was delighted when he got injured as it forced Ritchie into taking him off. If only Ritchie had made another substitution when we were under pressure! I hope Ritchie doesn't make the same mistake as Butcher and get us relegated due to a personal fall out with Fisher as Ritchie will be the loser if we go down. whilst Fisher will move on to pastures new!
  7. Absolutely shocking. Only tactic appears to be launch it forward and lets hope for the best. OFW should have covered the first goal and came off his line for the second - the sooner Esson is fully fit the better - OFW must be dropped! Vigurs - liability, MOM (what a joke) - he must be superb in training to justify a start. We have gone from a team who can pass and retain possession (albeit not creating a lot) to a team who play it long, hope for the best, create little and lose possession in no time at all. 7/1 to finish bottom - very generous odds in my opinion - I hope the bookies know something I don't because I fear the worst. I'll be at County on Saturday and I hope we see some changes - Fisher, Dorran, Mulraney to start instead of Vigurs, Doumbouya and Cole. Tansey has stated he is not staying - I wouldn't lose sleep if we let him go in January and replaced him with someone who is committed to the cause.
  8. Pat Nevin suggesting Draper throws his leg out is a bit extreme!. Since when was shielding the ball from an opponent 'looking for a foul'. The Celtic defenders runs through Draper without getting near the ball - definite foul and if the ref is unsure whether it was in / outside the box then the assistant was in the ideal position to 'assist'. Anywhere else on the pitch and we get a free kick, similar to the one Celtic got a few minutes later. The referee was terrible today and it was surprising to see a more experienced ref as the fourth official. Great point as we could have lost by 4 or 5, lets hope we follow it up with 3 points against Dundee
  9. Clach facebook page: Clachnacuddin FC 2 August at 14:46 · Inverness · Next Wednesday night, the 10th, we will be hosting an ICT team at Clach park for a match with a 19.30 ko. Admission prices for this game will be £6/£3 .
  10. For those that may have missed this - it is FREE entry to tomorrows match with Arbroath (7.45 KO). Might not be 7-0 but if the U20's play the same attacking football as the 1st team it should be a good game.
  11. Slightly against the above posts but since we have been in the topflight we always played 3 home games against the old firm before the split. I 'assumed' as did other fans I know that this would be the case so I do think that Partick have every right to be hacked off with Neil Doncaster and his cronies. I am pretty sure the Caley board (and most fans) would have been up in arms if we had been in Partick Thistles shoes. I am however surprised that it is three teams in the central belt that have been stitched up and not ICT. The SPFL should have advised all clubs that there was the possibility of only getting 2 home games against the old firm before the split, if only to avoid negative press when the fixtures were announced. Same old SPFL - no communication with the clubs Motherwells comments made me laugh - complaining about a midweek trip to Inverness at Christmas. We had to travel to Hamilton over Christmas last year and this Christmas Eve we get an away fixture at Ibrox, at least we just get on with it
  12. Devine suspended for the Killie game! Hopefully we will see the return of the Meekings / Warren partnership Magennis and Smith suspended for Killie
  13. Devine suspended for the Killie game on 9th Jan (sorry I mean 16th - Doh - too many last night!). Hopefully we will see the return of the Meekings / Warren partnership Magennis and Smith suspended for Killie

    Injuries.

Miles Story doubtful for tomorrows game
  15. If there was a risk of losing him for nothing next year I feel we would have no choice but sell now. With good negotiations we would get a couple of players on loan and ensure there is a good sell on clause. However if what the BBC website says is true we have the option to extend his contract for a further 12 months when this one expires in May 2016. If this is the case there is no reason why we should even be considering such a derisory offer. We should be renegotiating his contract with a buyout clause or sitting tight for another 12 months where there may be some realistic competition from EPL teams for his signature. Selling him now would only benefit us if we had a number of players lined up to come in, which I don't believe we have. This is where the board could secure a financial footing for a number of years, get Ryan on a longer contract with a £1m+ buyout clause!
  16. Given the amount of injuries we have I am far more confident than I was after the Motherwell game. No further injuries and a clean sheet with a makeshift defence. One point picked up against a team who took all nine last season. We started with energy and kept the ball well. Partick had chances which were mainly down to us giving the ball away cheaply, luckily we were not punished. Williams pulled off a couple of great saves, his only weakness appears to be his kicking from pass backs. We need a striker!!!! Lopez does not 'yet' look the part, poor touch, no pace, no height - not sure why we kept him on for 90 minutes tonight. In the last 20 minutes Sutherland could have given an injection of pace up front and put pressure on the defence which may have created more chances for the team. Once we have a fully fit Doran and Roberts we will be more of a threat and hopefully see Mutombo (or a new signing) playing centre forward. I suspect we will see the same team on Saturday and keep the players coming back from injury until the following week when we play Hamilton.
  17. A truly shocking decision by the SFA. The charge against Josh is for 'deliberate' handball, handball yes but deliberate? A case of ball to hand which we see every week in the SPFL and English Premier league. Not all are seen and not all are given - yet I don't recall a player being punished retrospectively. If Josh is banned then we are going to see players punished retrospectively every week. What happens the next time a referee gives a penalty for handball in error - will he be retrospectively charged by his compliance officer! Will the team to which the decision was made against be allowed to appeal and request that the match is replayed.... Far-fetched I know but the SFA have put themselves in this position. The SFA set a precedent with a not proven verdict when Nadir Ciftci was charged with violent conduct against Gary Warren. I sincerely hope that a not proven verdict is delivered for Josh. If Josh is banned can we remind the SFA that we should have had a penalty in the final minute of the game against Ross County. The officials failed to notice that the keeper made contact, we should have had a penalty, a red card for their keeper and if scored we would have 'won'!!!!!
  18. This season- Minutes per goal: Doran 208 Watkins 317 Christie 505 Should have checked the stats first Top 3 this season: Doran - 208 Mackay - 227 Ofere - 235
  19. Really disappointing result and performance based on previous posts / match reports. Watkins is not cutting it up front, he may be our top scorer but an interesting stat would be goals per minute on the pitch, in which case I'm sure Christie & Doran would rank higher. Hughes should get Watkins back playing in his best position out on the wing creating chances for Ofere who looks like he could be a decent acquisition if given a run of games. I'm worried we won't see Ofere at his best until after the Semi Final (let's hope it's not too late!). Can anyone explain why Raven was replaced by Devine with 7 minutes remaining. Surely it was not tactical - if it was I'm really worried.
  20. We are through and had we taken our chances in the first half it would have been far more comfortable. Raith came here to get a draw and we created more chances for them than they did! Thought Ofere was good in the air first half, can't recall us crossing one in for him in the second half though! I'd have liked to have seen Watkins on the wing putting in a few crosses, or Doran on for 10 mins before Ofere was taken off. 5 weeks until the Semi gives Ofere and Kink time to get fully fit - Hampden here we come!
  21. I must admit I did wonder if the right decision had been made when the sun was shining this afternoon. However having seen the pictures on sportscene the area between the 18 yard line and centre circle (Caley end) was well flooded. This area was a problem when we played St Johnstone and we have had far more rain over the past week. If it had gone ahead the wind would have been a nightmare and the conditions would likely have suited Raith more than us. A few extra days rest and an extra training session for the new strikers should benefit the team. Let's hope the pitch dries out and we can get a win on Tuesday.
  22. Would have taken a point before the game. This could be our best ever season, top 3 / 4 and on a great cup run, however...... this was a disappointing result given Utd were down to 10 men for so long. Utd came out and went for it in the second half and we couldn't cope. Why did Hughes not make any changes - Tremarco for Raven (Shinnie to right back) or Polworth on for Christie to regain control of the midfield. Against Killie on Saturday I thought we faded in the last 15 - 20 minutes and was therefore not surprised by our second have performance given the same players were on the pitch today. And why did we lose our discipline - Warren gets tangled up with Ciftci (why ) and will likely miss the next 3 matches which I think includes the cup game. A few players must be close to suspensions and we have very little cover, we need Doran, Devine and Vincent fit asap. Anyway let's hope can put the disappointment of dropping 4 points in 4 days behind us and get a comfortable win on Saturday!
  23. Whilst wishing him all the best it's disappointing to see him go to another SPFL side (for free). I think he would have held his own in the English Championship and improve much more as a player there than I think he will with Aberdeen. We all knew he was leaving and I had hoped he would have been snapped up in January boosting our bank balance and giving the club some say in the negotiations. We could have agreed a future sell on clause so that when he moves again we get a further cash windfall - not to be I would like to see the club commit to offering 3 year contracts to players, especially the likes of Meekings, Watkins and Christie. We have seen a number of our best players leave for nothing over the past few years, as a club struggling to break even we need to stop this happening.
  24. A great initiative and I have used my season ticket to get a friend a ticket for a fiver. However, I do think it is a strange game to choose, 2nd v 3rd at 3pm on a Saturday where I'd expect a reasonable crowd and away support. Also no TV cameras, so fans don't have the option to watch it at home. It may be worth considering an offer for future Televised games. I know plenty of occasional fans who are happy to watch on TV rather pay £20+ for a ticket. A five pound ticket could make a difference for these games. Personally I would have chosen the Hamilton game in 3 weeks time where there will be at best a couple of hundred away fans and we will be lucky to get 3000 home fans. (I know Hamilton are top before someone tells me that this game may be 1st v 2nd ).
  25. Well that was disappointing. We barely ventured forward first half, yawn. Seemed to play a 4-5-1 with Mckay isolated. Second half was better but we didn't try and score until we went 1-0 down. Warren looked in line when he scored, but we never got a decision all night so wasn't surprised to see a flag. Looked like we came for a draw, did no one tell JH this was a cup match.
