  1. I thought it was worth a punt for ?15 you should read the comments on the forum, they have pictures of their shirts after being delivered I'll let you know if I get mine... if so, think I'll order about 20 and head down to the barrows in Glasgow!!
  2. http://www.thefootballshirt.com/ Incase any of you guys hadn't come across this site ?6.99 a top, ?8 shipping = ?15 a football top with free names and numbers I've already ordered my Boca Juniors top and hope to receive it in the next few days, as far as I can see it's legit and these guys of football365 forum seem to verify it Fooball 365 forum seems too good to be true!!
  3. Well that were cr@p! First home game this season for me and a horrible one losing at home to St Mirren when you are 1-0 up.... gutted!! We never played great football throughout the match but in the first half I felt we were outworking St Mirren in most areas of the pitch. Because we started Cowie on the left and Vigurs on the right they both had to come infield to use their favoured feet so it was congested in the centre of the park and IMO it just didn't work.... Eventually they moved back to their preferred positions and we started to see more width in the team and looked the more dominant side but there was no real creativity and I couldn't see where a goal was going to come from until we got the penalty. Nice finish from Rooney and was glad to see him off the mark... we finished the first half playing as we should have started and made 2 or 3 half chances but the urgency was evident. Second half St Mirren obviously had an ear full from McPherson but I still thought we handled everything they were throwing at us and because they had to attack it meant we could counter, Wood had a shot saved and Rooney was extremely unlucky with his effort off the bar but everyone knows what happens when you don't take your chances.... simple ball hit long through the middle of our defence (couldn't see exactly who was at fault but I'm sure both McGuire & Duff could be blaimed) for the poor mans Graham Bayne to score for Midden... 1-1 Mirren had their tales up and were starting to win all the second balls in the centre, Black seemed to be everywhere but where he should be and McBain was posted missing. The team were still putting in plenty of effort though and I thought Cowie & Vigurs were causing St Mirren problems down the flanks but Brew decided to then take Vigurs off and replace him with Imrie... McBain off for Wilson who went wide and Cowie moved into the centre. Then came our second defensive scalf of the game, Iain Brines got in the way of a pass, which dropped straight to a Mirren player and left us out of position, Robb got the ball on the left and Tokely completely miss-timed his challenge letting him drift in behind and into the box, Robb then cut the ball back for a simple finish 1-2 Barrowman came on, we had a couple of chances but the game was over as soon as we let them back into the match Ratings: Fraser 4 Did what was expected, don't think he could do anything about the first Tokely 2 I wouldn't play him against St Mirren again McGuire 2 Need to see what happened for the first again but he doesn't inspire confidence Duff 2 Looked nervous throughout the match and don't think he played any worse or better than McGuire Hasting 3 Was solid defensively but didn't offer much going forward Cowie 4 Slowly becoming my favourite player in an ICT shirt and for an ex-tink that's saying something... we NEED to get him on a long ass contract Vigurs 4 Don't know why he was subbed tbh, had a relatively quiet first half but thought he was one of our better players McBain 2 Didn't look interested, usually the one thing you can say about McBain is that he works his @rse off but I thought he was a passanger today Black 4 Although he still needs to work on his positioning he never stopped and is easily our most technically gifted player Rooney 4 Worked hard scored his penalty and unlucky not to get a second... again was totally baffled why he was replaced for Barrowman Wood 3 Played well, worked hard, IMO he is a very similar player to Rooney.. I would prefer to see Barrowman +1 next week at Tynecastle subs Imrie 1 Didn't offer anything else Wilson 2 Glad I got to see him on the pitch again, although the legs aren't there anymore he still caused problems and stuck in a couple of nice crosses Barrowman 1 Didn't have a chance to make an impact although nearly got lucky on a couple of occasions
  4. I think Broadfoot gets a lot of unnecessary stick tbh Just because he doesn't look like a natural full back doesn't mean he isn't effective (a bit like Tokely). I think he was one of the main reasons Rangers did so well in europe last season and thought he was one of our better players last night. I'd obviously prefer Hutton but next to him there isn't a better candidate.. I'd be more than happy if Broadfoot was in an about the squad for the immediate future and was picked ahead of Davidson & Alexander I thought Burley was well off the mark with his selection and formation against Macadonia but credit where credit is due, he had the tactics down to a T last night What the **** McManus was doing I've no idea... watched the replay 3 or 4 times last night and there was no chance he was pushed.. to be fair I think the guy would have scored if he didn't stick up his arm but that comes down to McManus' bad marking in the first place... I thought he was having a shocker before that anyway and it seems that Caldwell is becoming the more reliable of the 2 (and I never thought I'd hear myself saying that) great result and the campaign is back on again, bring on Norway!!
  5. what about: Fraser McGuire Duff Munro Tokely Black McBain Hastings Cowie Barrowman Rooney but I reckon it will be: Fraser Tokely McGuire Munro Hastings Cowie Black McBain Imrie Barrowman Rooney either, or I just hope we can pick up all 3 and carry on what has been a decent start to the season
  6. Setanta definitely have the problem IMO, did anyone see the midnight highlights when the guy kept mixing up the two teams? His face was priceless when he realised that Falkirk were at the bottom of the league with no points... ignorant ba5tard!! I thought Setanta was decent enough last season but have been more than dissapointed with what I'm paying for so far
  7. Meant to be woeful! Mind when we got Wilson in on deadline day about 3 seasons back? At least I think we did. That was great news. Yeh spoke to a few Motherwell & Hibs fans and they say he is a player that thinks he is better than he actually is... we have enough cover in the centre of the park & I would hope Brew is looking for players that'll graft than upset the dressing room I think Brew's played a blinder this transfer window... he must have made the board a small fortune during the last few months and we only seem to be a couple of players short of a very capable team I would have liked to see some pace upfront & a big centre half but if we can't get these players at a reasonable price then why not give the youngsters a chance, they've shown how capable they are so far... it's better that than being bent over a barrel to pay a massive transfer fee or getting stuck with a player on a massive salary that we don't rate at that value (i.e. Balde) I would have taken McCraken when he was released from United last year (?) but not now if he wants a big wage... McPake would be an excellent signing IMO but think there will be more than 1 team sniffing about him at next transfer window
  8. I'm sure he teaches PE at Culloden Academy, or he at least used to while I was there... true indeed... coached our school football team.. I never thought he was the greatest coach but decent enough guy
  9. I've stuck an accumulator on at the bookies, pick 5 teams to win their leagues: I went for Chelsea, Birmingham, Rangers, Dundee, Peterhead.... I'm not doing too bad so far. hate Chelsea as well but think they'll just edge it this year fair play to Hull City yesterday, still think they'll get relegated but Geovanni was an excellent signing and might give them an edge
  10. but didnt the club also say nicalue wasnt being sold, when he went back to romania, also said rooney was signing on loan,so they changed maybe defensive plans have also good point mate I think today will be a give Brew an indication on whether he needs another centre half... if Duff has a solid performance today we may not need anyone else
  11. a lot of responsibility for McGuire today... just hope he's up to it
  12. Hairy - ma boss IS actually a Stoke City season ticket holder who goes to most of their reserve games as well. He reckons that if the Potters were still in the Championship that they may well have held on to Mr Rooney. He feels that they have let him go as Adam can see that his chances will be limited and he wants to play first team football at as high a level as possible. He has a lot to prove and unfortunately his sights are probably aimed at a higher level eventually and he will be desperate to bring himself to the attention of the FAI. I reckon that we have got a feckin cracker. hope your right mate and from what I've seen of him I think he will be a success It's hard to gauge the ability of a player after only watching for one game but I think he is a steal a ?75k and I'm positive we will only see the benefits from this transfer. He isn't the type of player that's going to have fans at the edge of their seats though, he is very much in the same mould of the type of player Stoke City employ in their first team, big, strong and hardworking. He did seem to have a good first touch and I thought both Barrowman and Rooney linked well.... BUT he is a completely different type of player to Anthony Stokes coincidentaly my mate, that I go along to most mateches with, wasn't too impressed with him against Burnley so he might not be to everybodys liking
  13. :thumb04: :018: ;) :015: :D
  14. delighted it's another 3yr deal for a young player with potential... Rooney is by no means a glamorous stiker, infact quite work man like from what I saw of him. Looks as though he will give centre halves a hard time with his physical presence and I am encouraged by the feedback from other Bury & Chesterfield supporters... especially the remarks about his finishing Brew & the board have shown some real ambition with this signing IMO, let's hope he turns out to be the missing link in our frontline
  15. Excellent choice your ancestors would have been proud Welcome aboard
  16. Agree with most of your post, highlighted bits especially I am quite glad McCulloch & Dailly have been dropped though, I think they have been average at best for Rangers and for their ages we'd be as well trying out younger players I can't believe we still don't have a better option at left back than Naysmith. McEveley is surely worth another try... if only Steven Smith would stop getting injured or Hastings was Scottish I'd have actually preferred Broadfoot in the team than Davidson... I mean really what has Davidson done recently that merits a call up to the first team.. I'd even prefer Alexander... or my mum I think our midfield and forwards are decent but the defence is truely worrying Cowie and Black are well off a call up I'm afraid.... a good season and they might be in consideration but at the moment there are 6/7 players ahead of them
  17. not the type of player we need, IF we sign Rooney we will already have 3 battering-rams in Rory, Rooney & Barrowman... we are crying out for some pace & agility upfront
  18. or he thinks McGuire is up to the job...
  19. that's what I'm worried about... I can't pick a team for relegation
  20. f*ck sake 3-1... they've knocked us off top spot
  21. I didn't realise how big a team they are, they'll slaughter us at set pieces if we're not careful Fraser Tokely McGuire Munro Hastings Duncan Cowie Black McBain Barrowman Imrie bit worried about this one...
  22. exactly, all I need is for Scott Booth to resign from being a commentator and it would be the best weekend EVER!
  23. Setanata highlights were pesh lovely goal by McBain
  24. What makes it even better is County have lost their first two games.... relegation for County again :thumb04: :018: ;) :015: :D :P
  25. hilarious... he is a worse loser than Strachan (unfortunately this is the first chance we've had to see it) I hear that Calderwood referred back to his usual 4-2-4 towards the end of the match... and some say Brew is tactically inept
