  1. An alternative and variation on an earlier theme might be COMEBACKABILITY
  2. Did nobody check to see if Sandy Roy, Mr W Knowles of Inverurie or even A D C Kidd were available?
  3. Sounds like an excellent initiative Johndo. I certainly plan ditching the ICT scarf for the day in favour of my old Caley one Would suggest all old Caley or Thistle fans don blue and white or red and black for the day.

As ever, IHE is the voice of reason, wisdom and common sense. I have a vivid memory of Elgin keeper, Dave Lawtie, getting pelted with snowballs at Telford Street in the days when they played football in the snow and stewards hadn't been invented. Would love to do that again to an Elgin goalie. Maybe in January

Excellent draw. Borough Briggs would have been great but this will do. Have waited a long time for this and will not miss it for anything.

I believe the 4th round draw is at Hampden on Monday. So who do you fancy getting? I wouldn't mind a wee trip to Buckie or Elgin to get things under way.
  8. Exilerating, thrilling and hugely enjoyable. About as much fun as you can have with your clothes on And in the chill November air they needed to be on. One little downside was Jonny Hayes tweeking a hamstring near the end. Would be surprised to see him next week.

Abracadabra! As if by magic, it was back.

It will look nice with the concrete footballs from the Telford Street turnstiles and the framed club crest from the Telford Street tunnel.

For the first three league games of the season, there it was, up the flagpole at the corner of the ground. For the last three league games it has been missing. Has it been lost, stolen, sold or destroyed by some bitter old jaggie furious that it was blue and white. Maybe, this post will trigger its reappearance. Let's see.
  12. and a booking
  13. Aye, but did this appear in the Aberdeen version of the paper? that would have been sweet... and a few choice responses from dons fans. Yes, it would have done.
  14. The author is pleased to have given satisfaction.
  15. Thoroughly well deserved.
  16. Whether it's through fear, panic or paranoia, I don't know, but many associated with Dundee seem to have lost the plot. The 25 point deduction seems about right to me for a club in administration for the second time in seven years, and the idea that relegation to Division 2 is an unthinkable situation which they could never survive will be seen by many as ridiculous. Clubs survive in Divisions 2 & 3 when they are run prudently and Dundee should be able to do the same if they find themselves there. Then again this is Dundee, a club that could not live within its means in the SPL or SFL Div 1. Much of the sympathy I had for them a week ago is fast evaporating and I suspect many Scottish football fans are starting to feel the same way.
  17. Ancient and uninteresting, bitter and twisted history.

Have now heard from a couple of sources about the death of Gordon Munro. He would be better known to many of you as Gordy Bus and was a very keen Caley and Caley Thistle fan who worked on the turnstiles for both clubs. Even if you didn't know him you probably handed him some money or your season ticket at some point. I believe his funeral is at Dalneigh Church on Friday.

    Count me in.
  21. That looks rather like a man who scored a somewhat unusual goal the last time we played St J. No better looking now than he was then.

I agree totally, but I have felt that this has been the case for years - long before the Butcher / Malpas era. Are there less ball boys now than in the past? The time it takes to get the ball to the player taking the throw doesn't help either. At one point today Ryan Esson ran all the way to the corner flag to pick up the ball for a goal kick. That's crazy. I don't see why every ball boy doesn't have a ball to keep things flowing.
  23. I stand corrected. His debut was on 5/8/95 according to Ian Broadfoot.
  24. I well remember Daisy's debut at Grant Street when he ran rings around the County defence. Did Mike Teasdale not make his debut in that game too? Sad to report that in recent years, Daisy's mental health has suffered to the extent that I saw him at the Scottish Cup Final this year wearing a County shirt. Old age doesn't come by itself and all that.
