  1. Seeing your team beat the Old Firm never loses its appeal. Watching that ICT team grow in confidence while Celtic slowly but surely lost theirs was wonderful. Tomorrow will be a day for ICT fans to vote and gloat. Enjoy it folks.
  2. Interesting times. I guess part of me is as amazed as most other posters. Roy, Russell, Grant and Stuart have all made a massive contribution to Caley Thistle in the last decade. On that point, I think, we are all agreed. Playing time must be nearly up for both Roy and Golly but Munro and Duncan both have a few years left and clubs will be interested in them. It's very easy for fans to get a bit sentimental about players who have been around for a long time. As ICT fans we have been used to previous managers tinkering with the squad each summer - two or three out and in. Terry's approach seems to be different and that doesn't mean it's wrong. The manager has got to be asking himself how he can improve Caley Thistle. How can he take them to the next level. If he's not doing that then he shouldn't be in the job. All of these players have never been able to get ICT to the top six. With each passing year they will be less likely to contribute in a manner that will move ICT forward. No doubt there will be others moving out too and everybody about to go out of contract will be feeling very nervous right now. It looks like we could have a good few unfamiliar faces in place come the start of 2011-12 and the challenge for Butcher is twofold. First of all he need to be find players who are better than the ones he has disposed of. Secondly, he needs to ensure his new squad gels together quickly enough to make a reasonable start to the new season. The SPL can be a very unforgiving place for a club making a slow start.
  3. Is it the coaches job to book accommodation or somebody else behind the scenes at ICT?
  4. Weather and pitches permitting, of course.
  5. and your roses will be lovely.

    Ken Dodd

By Jove, how tickled I am to be reading all this. I would have thought that Doddy would have found performing rather taxing at his age.

    Statue

    Like that idea.
  8. Yes, I listen to Talksport both on MW and DAB. I think Sky Sports are missing Keys and Gray. Those that are left are good, but not quite as good.

    Rooney's miss

Worth the admission money alone. Hugely funny!
  10. I guess the game could have been called off today if there was no chance of it going ahead. So I'll remain optimistic and hope the 8am inspection tomorrow has a positive outcome.
  11. One careful lady owner.........and Maimie!
  12. i think he may have come to a good place for a fresh start. I wish him well. If all our defenders were fit and not suspended I wonder what the first choice back four would be? Tokely Hogg Munro Gillet or maybe Duff Innes Proctor Shinnie
  13. Ticket prices look pretty good too. Click Here
  14. Wow! I hope local people make a real effort to go and support it.

    The League Flag

It was missing in action again yesterday. Maybe it's time to take the flagpole down since it's not needed.

    The League Flag

Oh dear, it's gone missing again. Not seen at the last two games. And it's such a topical flag, won by a team in a league of ten
  17. One of the great football interviews of all time. Well said Terry Butcher!!!!! A perfect mixture of passion and common sense.
  18. Well said, agree totally. How long till Sky and other broadcasters push for a 10 team English Premiership so they can have Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, Man C and Liverpool all playing each other four times a season? Beware the Birminghams, Wigans, West Broms and Blackpools of this world! Birmingham etc are big enough clubs to sustain top level football and there are plenty others in the championship of a decent size who could fit into the top level. Cowdenbeath and Brechin aren't and will never be a big enough club to operate at the top level. Comparing us to England is daft as they have over 10 times the population as us and can sustain a top flight of 20 teams. In Scotland we can't and it's just fantasy thinking we can. Did not suggest a Scottish top flight of 20 teams which, I agree, would be too much. All I am saying is that the broadcasters and the organisations that run football want to pander more and more to the teams they see as the elite sides and stuff the rest.

  20. Great stuff Johndo. Could we have W Bell of Greig Street as ref for the final games assisted by Toich of Craig Dunain and G Paterson of Kilmuir Road please.
  21. The Other Record Shop Scot II Trips across the ferry Whippet racing at the Clach Park The fact that if everybody who said they were in the Playhouse the night it burned down, then there must have been at least 6000 there. The shock and horror in a wee town over Renee MacRae, Susan Redmond and Lesley Lobban. The smell of the distilleries in Inverness. If I pass a distillery today the aroma still takes me back.
  22. We are certainly way ahead of my expectations. I would have been delighted with 8th or 9th at this point.
  23. It's a hard choice with lots of great options. I've plumped for the home win gainst the hopeless Dons - Another first for the Caley Jags.
