  1. Meant to add - every country has crime, someone's nationality shouldn't be taken into account when considering weather they may be a criminal, if someone is conducting themselves inappropriately then they are doing so because they are choosing to do so, not because of their nationality and therefore it would be totally wrong to judge someone on their nationality. It's like saying every white person from South Africa during the apartheid was a racist - that is a total insult to every white person in that country who is not a racist and it is a totally ridiculous sweeping statement.
  2. Yup, i always used to say to my folks, Inverness is getting worse and they always used to say that these things have always gone on throughout history (my Da is fae London and he was exposed to quite a bit of crime when he was a nipper) but it's not what is happening as opposed to how often it is happening these days, and the number of people from our generation who are turning into total douche bags is definitely on the up. And now my folks agree with me that things are getting worse - exponentially in relation the growth of Inverness' population.. In regards to Polish people and the likes, the reason so many seem to be in fights is because they seem to get persecuted by drunken racist idiots in or outside pubs and clubs all the time. Every Polish migrant i have met is a hard working decent individual just trying earn a living and have a good life and almost all of them have suffered abuse because of they nationality, only last week i was in a pub with a former polish colleague of mine and the bar manager was making snide remarks about 'his kind coming over hre and stealing our jobs or sponging off the dole' his views were factually incorrect and based on pure unfounded prejudice and frankly i struggle to comprehend the stupidity of racist morons likes him. If people want to have a go at anyone they should be having a go at the people from our own country who sponge of the doll, get involved in criminal activities and generally cause a menace to society.
  3. 'Right guys, Hands up who thinks i'm a good manager' 'Anyone clubs needing a manager next season?' 'who says you need fans and a full squad of good players to run a successful football team' 'Right that's it mike, if you don't score a goal no new contract for you and Zibi can play out the rest of the season between the sticks' 'Why doesn't anyone like me?' 'Maybe if i look like i'm shouting people won't notice that i know sod-all about man management, tactics and substitutions' 'Dennis who????' 'why am i the only one cheering, i mean it's the taking part that counts right???' 'You in the back row, do you want to be my friend, it would appear i have a few vacancies at this current time?' 'Shall i leave now, or do you want me to make us look p1sh for the remainder of the season?' 'Okay, okay who wants to play for ICT next season, if you can pull in the right direction you can pull on a shirt no questions asked'
  4. Roscoe23 i agree with everything you have said regarding crime in Inverness, i'm 20 so not that long left school and when you go to school and see and hear about what your peers are up to on a daily basis you quickly realize how bad things are. I went to a school which as far as i know is looked on as one of the better schools in Inverness, I was threatened with a knife on 2 occaisions, jumped by a gang of neds on another occasion for sticking up for a kid they were bullying, i've had similar things happen to friends and friends borthers and sisters, i've seen guys who started out as just a bit rowdy turn in to drug addicts, nutters and lawless idiots. When i venture back to Inverness which is rare i see so many fights, drunken and drugged up kids causing trouble and total lack of respect shown to joe public by gangs of neds hang about the city centre and the estates. I know of many kids who i went to school with who are complete loose canons and who egt away with criminal activities on a daily basis, i've been at parties where kids have tried to gatecrash and returned wielding an axe or kids threatening to stab you because you won;t buiy them booze from the shop they are standing outside. I am fed up with the way society is going, and very fed up with the way Inverness is going, there is no easy answer and different people need differerent approaches to change their behavior, some need rehabilitated some need locked up for the rest of their lives. It's nice to know that someone else shares the same views...
  5. As a battling ex-smoker (it's hard) i wish they'd just ban the sale of them in shops, whilst i'm sure this would just create a huge black market it would help me stay away from temptation.
  6. This was my point - just because it goes on it doesn't make it acceptable for people to do it and i won't listen to the argument that drugs are rife in 2008 and he's not the only one - that's a p!ss poor excuse. Whilst he has always been a pretty solid player for us, drugs aside does he really have another season in him playing 1st team football? Wouldn't the wages be better spent elsewhere?
  7. performances aside the guy is a professional sportsperson and an ambassador for the club with his pretty good wages come certain roles and responsibilities and one of those it not to take illegal drugs, in my opinion he shouldn't have played again for the club again. Whilst i'm not stupid enough to think that coke isn;t a very widespread drug amongst many groups of people, including circles of people i work with regularly but it doesn't make it okay for him to be taking drugs and his performances should not be enough to make this issue be tossed away and forgotten about, whilst I believe in rehabilitation i'm afraid i can't find it in my heart to cheer him on in an ICT top anymore.
  8. Brewster - there's the door son, there's the door...
  9. If it wasn't for section G i would only attend away games - you guys make the atmosphere and make me join in. Keep it going guys...
  10. Having played in there a couple of times i have to say i think the acoustics are actually not very bad, and given the backline and on stage rig they have even if they were rotten there is no reason why a good sound cannot be attained. Rather a problem is with bigger bands they bring their own engineer on tour and sometimes it takes them a while to get to grips with new desks/compressors/EQ's/Reverbs/Gates/Limiters/Buses/Effects loops/Speakers/room acoustics/etc and therefore despite a soundcheck it will take them a while to get a good sound during a performace unless they take their own digital desk which is about as likely as Marius is to become top scorer this season, so i would argue that the sound problems you are describing are down to the band and their engineer as opposed to the venue.
  11. Great loss? Whilst he has been pretty solid over the years I'm afraid I disagree, Brewster pulls the plug on argueably one of ICT's greatest players' contract (Wyness) and yet the club let Hart back to the office shortly after his court case - what is going on at the club at the moment? Hart was very luckly to keep his job, i;d lose my job if i was convicted of such an offense and i barely earn above minimum wage. Hart on the other hand earns a lot of money, represents a family club and is a pro athlete all of which mean he shouldn;t be taking recreational drugs and if he does he certainly shouldn;t get a nice wee paid holiday then allowed to keep his job, i think after his actions his ability shouldn;t even matter...
  12. Was disguested to read in the paper about Brewster pulling the plug on Wyness - I have supported him since he came back to club no questions asked but lack of good performances let alone wins this year, the loss of Rankin, what i deem as poor tactics and now this make me think that i can no longer support him and quite frankly if things don't drastically pick up i think the only person leaving the club after the season should be him. I'm a very unhappy man right now.
  13. Richard has signed - I really hope you are successful in this if sounds like you have a fight on your hands but it's worth the effort...
  14. I think it's quite ironic that you describe the arrogance of youth where in actual fact that is an arguably arrogant viewpoint itself and one i would challenge. Some of the more interesting commentators on this board fall into 2 of those categories i think you need a bit of controversy, contrast and debate of a good board however i agree that some can feel alienated by the old boys club vibe sometimes - i'm a newbie but i don't think there's much of that about really. Also i think the time of year has a little to do with the dip, students have exams and so on (although sometimes that's an excuse to go on the forum), I think the school prelims are on at the moment, a lot of folks arn;t going to many games this month due to the economic hangover of the festive period and due to the lack of matches in recent weeks there has been less to talk about. Hopefully we can get back on track now we're getting closer and closer to the split...
  15. My feelings exactly. However, I suspect we'll be in the minority prepared to express this view. here here. Lucky to keep his job and his good wage after the incident, not sad to see him go but i wish him all the best...

  17. Nairn Jazz festival, Edinburgh Blues and Jazz festival, Belladrum and maybe Glasto for me this year. Shame Rockness couldn't attract Prodigy - then i might be tempted to go. I've got to say - you cannot accuse some of the acts of not being real musicians because they are playing records at their set. The fact many of the electronic acts write all the parts - from drums to synths, pads and bass, then re-write the songs for a live performance AND collaborate to make the gig well linked up with jaw dropping audio-visuals you often see at these gigs. Now i'm not saying there's not a lot of sh*t been announced but if you want to talk about pish musicians forget the likes of Fatboy slim (who isn't to my taste at all but undoubtedly has some skills) and start talking about middle of the road; post-libertines; sub-pop dross such as the view who are about as original as those scratch cards you get free in magazines telling you you've won a 100,000 car.
  18. I don't think a fireworks display is different, in fact it must be one of the most common ways to celebrate the end of any cultural event (sporting events like the commonwealth games &olympics; footy world cup; rugby world cup, new years, christmas, bonfire night, etc. What if they had a free concert or something random like that? Or what if they donated 250,000 to charities - surely more people would reap real benefit from that - perhaps economically but certainly socially. If and when i have kids i'd rather freeze my arse off at TCS watching ICT than watching over priced lighting and sound effects...
  19. I'm going on the assumption he's probably not going to have made any major plans outwith ICTFC business on the last day of the transfer window...
  20. I think that's a bit unfair, if you're working late at a hospital good luck getting public tansport to the black isle home after work, as for walking - it's not really an option now is it. I like fireworks, but i don't like fireworks which cost ?250,000 of public money. Fireworks are nice, but not that nice in my opinion. As for the environmental issue - there's clearly a difference between commuting home from work late at night in an area which doesn't exactly have sterling public transport and lighting up 250,000 of fireworks, it's not setting them off that is the problem, it is the biproducts and pollution created in manufacture which tends to damage the environment. In fact, why not invests that 250,000 into public transport/infrastructure and let those who want to watch fireworks either pay for a ticketed event or wait till november 5th.
  21. the singing - we need MORE of it, I have faith that all the young-uns i'm seeing at the home games will be joining in the chants in a few years, that'd be something, imagine going to a game and drowning out the OF??? Okay well i can dream at least
