  1. Steve's on with tam and Stewart right now
  2. Sutherland looks decent. I saw him playing a reserve match against the huns on Hun TV a while ago. Don't know about Morrison though.
  3. Uh oh we're talking oil. It's my opinion that thatcher used the money from oil revenues to smash the unions when the money should have been used to improve and build infrastructure.
  4. It's a tragedy that so many national assets were sold off for a fraction of their worth. Including BA.
  5. I think the Pars are pretty good when it comes to dealing with adverse weather conditions. I'm assuming that they'll have their pitch covered and that they're got undersoil heating. It better not be off cos I've been looking forward to a Stephens the Bakers bridie all week
  6. From the same site:- We're higher than average but do we need all of them? I think not. There's a massive difference there between Scotland and other parts of the UK. NI has always been heavily subsidised and I guess many in Whitehall and Westminster would be glad to see a united Ireland in terms of the cost of governing the 6 counties. I'm also led to believe that the republic couldn't afford to govern NI in the way it is at the moment.
  7. haha! UK plc = London and regions...
  8. They should just nationalise BA and be done of it.
  9. Give me an E!!!!!!! No, hold on a second ...
  10. U16s going free? That sounds like a good idea.... The club will recuperate the admission prices off them with the catering prices.
  11. I've got to disagree with you Hiro. In terms of public sector employees, what about all of the RBS employees who are now classified as working for 'the man'? There are literally thousands of staff based in Edinburgh and the Lothians with the World HQ at Gogarburn. From what I can see, the ONS is classifying all of these folk as civil servants now: http://www.statistics.gov.uk/cci/nugget.asp?ID=407
  12. If he's planning management I think he would be better starting out at a highland league or lower league club to find his feet and build up some experience.
  13. I don't know anyone with tickets for it but keep a close eye on gumtree - it should come good - fingers crossed.
  14. Good point RiG. They've only got one chant anyway. Hopefully they'll be through in numbers paying top dollar to get in. The irony in that statement lol Caley Caley Caley Caley Caley Caley that is the only song you have ever sung since we entered the League!! Give me a C!
  15. I'd say no. You obviously don't advocate state intervention in regard to the laws surrounding the individual. In some senses it's strange to see Mandela out there as the ANC was, for many years, classified as a communist party. However, after the fall of apartheid, RSA ended up with a Rainbow Constitution - arguably the most liberal constitution ever written.
  16. I just took the political compass test: Economic Left/Right: -0.88 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.23 I'd classify myself as a new liberal. I remember Reading TH Green's writings a while ago and being in agreement.
  17. Blair needed to reach out to the middle classes in the south - but he didn't start dragging towards the centre. You can't deny that they have invested a lot of money in education and health over the past 10 years.
  18. try gumtree. There's usually tickets up for sale - especially closer to the gig date.
  19. I understand where you're coming from but can't agree with you.
  20. I just downloaded it off iTunes. Cheeky cnuts have put it up to 99p!
  21. That, I believe, makes you a neoliberal Chris.
  22. Salmond wants a Conservative victory so he can try to garner support for independence. Did you notice I didn't mention the SNP? That's because they're a one man band. In '79 it was the first time turkeys had been known to vote for an early Christmas - today it's clear that the SNP, with their stance, DON'T care about Scotland. The first thing a Conservative government will do is pass an emergency budget which will SLASH spending. Remember too that Scotland, as a region of the UK: a). Has a disproportionately high percentage of people working in the public sector. b ). The Tories will change the Barnett Formula. They get little support in the way of votes from Scotland - why give Scotland extra funding? While Cameron won't want to be the PM who MIGHT oversee the break-up of the UK, he has made it clear he wants to further reduce the number of Scottish MPs to 53. While I love Christmas, please don't vote for it to come early folks. The words foot and shoot spring to mind. Rant over (for now at least!)
  23. Why is it they're obsessed with us and full of hatred? I find it strange. But then again I don't give them much thought.
  24. it's a programme where people convicted of assault are transformed into the the nations new sweetheart. http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2003/oct/21/helencarter Classy.
  25. Talk about jumping a chasm in two leaps! Can ICT justify a wage for a sub? In what way is he qualified / suitable to be the next ICT manager?! I think that a few people are looking at this thread through rose tinted glasses. Barry Wilson WAS a great player for ICT when he was younger. No denying that. I also miss the team when he and Robson played together. However I don't think by resigning him is going to lead to a vast improvement in results which would see us march up the table.
