Thanks and apology
The midweek game was a financial bonus for the club - nothing more. I only went (2nd visit to that dump in the slums) because it was a cup game and Celtic were only getting half of my very hard earned cash. Anyway, back to the point, I spoke to a few of the "best fans in the world" who had been at the game at work the next day. One of them said it was the best he had seen Celtic play in 4 years. Consider they've spent in big way over the summer and failed to progress in Europe, it was pretty enevitable we were in for a horsing from the kick off. It really was a David v Goliath midweek. On a brighter note, our deprivation tour has come to an end so you can breath easy. (Btw that deprivation reference was coined by ICTChris so I'm not going to pretend that I came up with that.) Are you going to the game on Saturday Mahonio? Have a green from me. The club needs more young guys like you supporting the team. There's too many up north following the infirm. Stay positive fella - don't let stinking thinking drag you down. And I wonder if Terry did that glass of red wine post-match with Neil Lennon...

There's only one Terry Butcher!
Well done to Shinnie too. Hopefully he'll continue to make first team appearances for us on a regular basis, regardless of injuries.

There's only one Terry Butcher!
Delighted we got the win today. With the resources at hand, the gaffer is doing a great job. Long may he remain at the helm. Heard Odi and Granty were superb today. Roll on the sheep.

How many points should see us safe?
Safe? We're aiming for top 6 fella! Only out of it by 2 goals today

Good point! Thank heavens we've got two great goalkeepers even if the defence will be off full strength.

Lee Cox injury
Disgusting tackle. Looked like a potential career-ender. The club should complain

If ICT were an English club
With the cup upsets last night, it got me thinking on the train back to Edinburgh. If ICT were an English club, which club would we be? I was thinking we're pretty similar to West Brom. Waaaay to big for the Championship, but a little lacking in resources for the Premier League. Purely hypothetical and comes from a little too much thinking after that tanking last night. Who would you compare us to and why?

Butcher upbeat despite cup defeat
C'mon Mahonio, the club are working on a tiny budget compared to Celtic. How much have they spent on players during the summer? Think about the difference between the two clubs. That 3-1 game was a massive match for us back then - probably the biggest of that season by a mile. Last nights game was a part of a much bigger, tougher campaign where many of the players are having to find their feet playing up a level.

Realistic answers
I think getting to the semi stage of the cup could be achievable. I'd much rather see us pushing up the league though. We came up with a huge amount of momentum and have merely been unlucky with injuries. Outside of the infirm there's no team which (with a full squad to choose from) we can't beat. A semi and top six spot would be great. With the size of the squad though, and the injuries the players are picking up, I'll say give the young lads experience, get a semi appearance and stay up. Top could well be do-able next year.

Team for st midden.
I think to drop Shinnie after last night might have a big effect on his confidence. (Purely a guess though.). I thought his performance last night was decent hence his inclusion for me.

Tuffey......our MOM
Have a green sploodge for that Naelifts. I thought his save from that free kick in the first half was immense. Thought he had a good game, all things considered.

Matchnight Thread : Celtic -V- ICT
If it's any consolation the 3rd goal was offside. Just back in Embra. Need a shower to warm up and wash the smell away!

BUTCHER MUST GO!
I feel slightly aggrieved having made the journey etc, It's HARDLY a reason to be demanding for TB getting the sack. We've just been unlucky with injuries. Take yourself outside and have a word eh.

This defeat wouldn't have happened if we'd signed Gary Mackay Steven. Got soaked walking back to Qst too. At least I witnessed a new club record.

The season is becomming a bit of a mess
If it's any indication the bookies offered 7/1 for us to win on the opening day of the season. Tonight we're at 14/1 for a win tomorrow night. Should be a spur for the team to prove the doubters wrong. I think that on any day though we can match any SPL team.

The season is becomming a bit of a mess
If we can consolidate, give the younger guys like Ross, Shinnie and Sutherland a decent run AND have the gaffer and Irish players in place next season we could do really well. I'm not giving up hope yet though. The season has seemed long so far with the international break and it is really too early to tell. At least the midden are in the same position as us injury wise.

Melville / Dundee / 25pt Deduction
It's now on the BBC that he has left. Wonder how long the club will survive.

Team fer Cellic
I thought Nick Ross played well against Hearts so he'd get a start. Duncan should also start, as should McBain. What's the situation with Foran? Will he be fit enough to start?

The season is becomming a bit of a mess
Still think we'll be top six... But maybe next year - not this one.

The season is becomming a bit of a mess
Probably sounds crazy but how about the club reduces the size of the playing area and play a tight game to try grind out results. Nothing to worry about so far. I've got a lot in faith in TB and the team.
