  3. The Fields of Athenry (ICT version) Irish Song Lyrics and Music Midi - original released on 22/03/2003 - ammended on 24/11/2012 : "Come hear the noise of Sneckie Boys - as once more we took the mighty Celtic on - Hart Roberts flew down the wing - a Wyness McKay goal was a sure thing - AND THE CALEY WENT BALLISTIC ONCE AGAIN ORIGINAL COVER : UPDATED COVER :
  4. I suspect that few will be surprised at your failings !!!!
  5. Feck me SHINNIE A got four smileys - Given a roving role where he was allowed to play make and support McKay but more importantly was not overshadowed by Foran and finally we have a manner in which to play them both effectively. And I have just found the European Cup under ma bed.
  6. Just about feckin sober - what a feckin away day. We decided not to go back to the London Road Tavern after the game !! I spoke to a lot of Cellic fans on the train home and they were full of praise for us rather than slagging their team off. Just a reminder after reading through these posts. We didnt have a bad day at the office we had 200 minutes of dreadful football. We had 200 minutes of lining up four people across an imaginary 30 yard line from our goals. We had people playing as if they had never met each other before and the majority showing little if any zest or determination to play for the shirt. The last 20 minutes at Kllie could be excused by tiredness after the midweek Ibrox heroics but the next TWO games were abysmal - both at home on a Sunday and in front of a nationwide TV audience. The only feckin virus that I suffered was feckin embarassment. So what happened yesterday. Well the committment was clear for all to see. The "thrill" of playing at Parkhead and playing Cellic may well have spurred a few on. Plus they had something to prove. But to me there were some tactical changes. The back four held a much higher line and Raven and Shinnie both played in a defensive mode and were covering the central pairing. Warren took on the centre half role and meekings was more of deeper sweeping partner. Doran and Roberts played deeper but always went wide when we had the ball and the others looked to feed them instead of hoofing. Foran was immense, back in the central midfield position and he was the worker which allowed OTJ a bit more space. A.Shinnie was given a roving role and that was evident in the last 20 when cellic began to tire. The pace of Roberts and McKay scared Cellic. McKay was not played as a target, he sat on the last Cellic defender. Cellics shooting was also very, very poor but we pressed the ball this week and we never stood off and let people shoot. REGUERO   I will give him MOM. He could have been shaky after the end of Well game but he didnt feckin show it. Cellics shooting gave him a helping hand but he also made 2-3 great saves although he does love to showboat. But to me it was his energy that impressed me and he always looked to play a quick, simple ball. RAVEN   An example of consistency and confidence personified. WARREN   Thought that he was also immense. Played in the role of a more traditional center half but won everything. MEEKINGS   Played his part, allowed Warren to take the lead, but a fine supporting role. G.SHINNIE   Evidently told to think more about the defensive side of his game. Not as attack minded as usual but a lot more effective as a full back. ROBERTS   He could quite a bit of stick and i bet many would have preferred him to be warming the bench when he put in a glorious cross for the winner. He is far from the finished article and I still dont think he is comfortable playing wide but - how may times was he the "out" choice for the others ? - how many times did he hug the touch line and actually take people on ? - How many times did he plough a lonely furrow and ate up the seconds ? Shure he fecked it up as much as he succeeded but his mere pace shook that Cellic defence and they ended up double marking him at times. FORAN   Captain fantastic again. He always gives that type of performance when he is in the feckin middle of it when we have our backs to the walls. Puts Brown in to the shade. OTJ   Looked far more comfortable beside Foran who did all the dirty work and allowed OTJ some space and time and the opportunity to sneak forward. DORAN   A bit like Roberts to me although he looks far more comfortable on the ball and gave Cellic the willies when he drifted inside. But what a feckin miss MCKAY   Great shift which probably went unnoticed to many but he is a natural goalscorer and should have added to his tally. Again the Cellic central defenders found him a handful because of his constant movement and he was played on the feckin shoulder of the last defender instead of being a nullified target.
  7. There are two feckin m's in immortal Luke !! Rewind seven days and there is some proof that we still have a long way to go. From a player by player perspective this is far from being the best team that we ever had - the performances are also too inconsistent - but from a points and cup run persepective they could just earn that reward. Isnt football such a fickle game ?
  8. Ah grasshopper - the "girlfriend" of last season didnt look after herself. She put on a bit of weight, wore dowdy clothes and became a bit of a dull, plain Jane. She got so infuriating and boring, especially on a match day, that you often slept in the spare bed, Nobody else would look at her twice and she basically did'nt turn anybody on. Her moods changed from minute to minute but yet she still thought that she was doing OK and stubbornly resisted change. Then this pre season she sits down and takes stock of her life and talks to a psychologically minded wizard from Chorley. She accepts that she has flaws and has to improve. She wants to go abroad to bronze herself but as money is tight she spends a few weeks shopping in the Primarks of Englandshire and is also able to grab a wee bit of Spanish sunshine. She goes on a diet, puts on a slap of make-up and gets her hair done. She slowly gains confidence and men in the street start noticing her again, passing positive comments and the wolf whistling increases. She simply becomes consistent and relaxed in her mood. She sticks to the same shampoo, the same perfume and the same shape and looks. Sure she has the odd day off, usually once a mouth, but who doesnt !! There are days like yesterday when half of the Highlands would jump into bed with her. She has come alive again but although she will strut her stuff she will remain loyal and will not stray. Many doubted that she could change and she had got herself in a rut. But most could see the undoubted potential and remember the beautiful girl in her hey day. It was always there under the skin and just needed some minor alterations. And who knows - she may well attract the punters from the Dark Side instead of watching them slump wearily into the South Kessock night.
  9. Have you got any pre merger stats !!!
  10. Dougal, Dalneigh Caley, Sandy Cromarty and Johnboy.
  11. On the way home - and I won't forget the free voddie either!!! How is the flitting going ?
  12. Good post - I suspect it is much the same in the other areas that I alluded to. But 4-5 years ago when I came "home" I could only ever see Old Firm and European tops in the streets and parks of Inverness. Now there are usually as many ICT tops as the others. ICT has a younger, developing support. It is the new generation and that is why we should be really targeting schools and outlying communities. Our/my generation were brought up mainly supporting Caley or the Fools as a second team. Many still hold those allegiances, many scorned the birth of ICT, many stuck by their "big" teams and quite a few watch ICT due to on-going friendships but ICT are the second choice team. I suspect that Joe and his peers are the commencement of the first post-merger generation and they are fairly solidarity in numbers and betrothed in their support. The next generation is coming along. This thread is yet another merger orientated one and it is the pre-merger influences who are using the terminology "incomers". There is a lack of support and enthusiasm related to the 35 year old plus population but hopefully a growing support of the under 35 population. And what is the terminology/ criteria of "incomer" - I suspect that I may also be one - and if so I am proud to be one - as I chose to move fer the financial safety of my family, am happy where I am but I class myself as a born and bred Invernessian. It will always be my home and unlike many others I have chosen ICT well in front of my old Cellic "roots" - unlike many others. O2feckinB
  13. This is yer lucky day as due to virgin train wifi and a IHE I-Pad a smileymometer will be posted this evening - sponsored by Strongbow and Smirnoff !!!!
  14. That is why the bugger got the feck out of Britain - but Internet banter is a much better indulgence than pugilism and DD can hold his own - reckon I would eventually wear him down and the DD towel would be thrown in during round 12 or 13 - cos I float like a butterfly and sting like a bee !!!
  15. 12.45 on a feckin Sunday and live on Sky - what do you feckin expect. Have to agree Wiv Dougal to a degree as many of the Sneckie based attenders that I know still have allegiances to other SPL teams, mainly the Old Firm and Aberdire - old Caley and Jeggies - and a lot of them ain't going any more. Many of the newer fans that I have met in the last 2-3 seasons are what Dougal refers to as "incomers" although quite a few have some roots in the Highlands. What has always puzzled me is that we don't have groups of fans - who could share a minibus and start up supporter branches in the likes of Speyside, Moray, Ross-shire, Fort William, the far north, the West Coast and the Isles, Why are we not enticing them on board ?
  16. It really couldn't have happened to two more deserving teams. Lets face it - Hellgin is and has been a refuge fer the fickest bestards in the feckin universe.
  17. Is that becos it is in black and white instead of colour ?
  18. I am therefore willing to model in the nude.
  19. But wouldn't he therefore have psychopathic traits ?
  20. Will catch up wiv ya as train gets in at 11.
  21. You are evidently a wee bit lacking in the finesse of psychopathy - what is it about your work that you cant fiddle a couple of hours off ?
  22. Where are we meeting and who will be there - I am on the train.
  23. Just look at this thread - it is a psychological classic - people have regressed. Amazingly ICT Chris appears to be the only emotionally intact individual. I suspect that Oats couldnt fathom the links.

It wont happen but I would go. Reguero Raven Foran Warren G.Shinnie McKay Draper OTJ Doran A.Shinnie Roberts At the start of the season I said that we needed 4 Richie Forans. Well I still feel we need one. In the pre season Foran's performances as a central defender were "divine". At the back he can lead the team but he has also got to be concentrating so much on his own game that he wont have much time for vemon. It would be unfair on Meekings but we still need more composure at the back and somebosy with the ability to play accurate shorter passes to feed the likes of Doran and OTJ. I would love to see how McKay would fare in the wide rite slot. He has the pace and energy to defend and to go forward. To me he has considerably more potential in that position than Shane or Roberts and Pepper aint ready yet. It would also give TB a real opportunity to swop systems. Andy Shinnie would benefit from not being in Foran's shadow and could rove to his hearts content. Roberts is far from the finished article but I just sense that he is a centre forward. Shure Foran is better than he is but when foran plays there we tend to use the "hoof" and Foran is a target 90% of the time and that wastes Shinnie. Roberts has considerably more pace and movement. If only we could have a Rasta Paddy. If Draper isnt available then I would play Foran in the middle and Meekings at the back. Morrison and OTJ played like strangers last week. OTJ and Foran to me are more suited.
