Am I alone in feeling that Easter Road is the best option. The crowd and the atmosphere at Hampden would be crapp. Hearts were always be going to take the bigger support and there will a far bigger crowd and atmosphere at Easter Road. I suspect that we will be allocated the "away end" and seats in the adjoining stand. Hope that we can get a wee singing section booked though. Perth is too small and Dundee grounds are not really that atmospheric. Pittodrie may be equidistant but it will not attract many to the seashore at that time of years. Then add the fact that we can enjoy a pint in the Hibee bars in Leith and we could get some crack cocaine and even a prostitute with relative ease.

I will be sitting in front of the box in Chorley. If Draper is injured it will be a "way out" of a very ticky decision for TB. Well it is yet another fine season for the CaleyAwaywithTerrryandMo Brigade and the JuanjoAway contingent from Central Station. By passed Fanny's which unfortunately is getting a face lift - I prefer fannies to be old, bare and smelly - and headed to the Hunting Lodge which has more feckin management changes than Hearts of Midlothian - probably late wage packets as well. But a free shot and free pool (c/o GovindaJeggy ) helped pass away the pre match war-up. It was also nice not to be the oldest as the Owd Bugger from Berks flew up fer the game - by the way what has happened to The Fly ? Anyway, on to the football. For thirty minutes, up until the penalty, I would say that the display was the best ever (yes EVER) that I have seen ICT play. We were organised, sure footed, industrious and some of the movement, passing and keeping the ball was simply entertainment personified. If we had scored the penalty then I reckon we would have scored more that the six we did at this time last year. In many ways the penalty miss went against us and that, and probably a half time bollicking from the Irish equivalent of Ken Dodd, got Killie out of their slumber. As fer the Diddymans' comments after the game - well there was a penalty for them but it serves McKenzie rite fer not been born a Mac - and did the ref actually play advantage ? - the two we got were also stoneawllers although Draper may well have lost control of the ball - as fer "pulverising" us - well we simply controlled the first half and it was end to end stuff in the second half and we had more chances than them - although the last 10 minutes was nervewracking and I think they had five efforts that practically tickled our crossbar and two fine saves from Reguero. I hope it wasnt tactical to lie so deep as we went to stringing out across the 18 yard box in a return to an old "nightmare". It may well be that three games in a week took its toll. IHE, all accepted we are a selling club, or feeder club, having to seek out fees for developing players, whether its through our own youth, or saving and improving free signings. Problem with that is we keep signing one year deals with players, so they end up leaving for nowt. We need to get into this " with an option for an additional year or two years" frame of mind. Where they are released if they do not perform to expectations, but if they do and are sought after, we extent their contract and make cash out of it. Then asking inflated fees, means you may get a fraction of the fee asked ( ie Victor Wanyama and the £25m, OMG how did Lennon keep a straight face with that one ), as with that valuation Andy Shinnie must be worth £20m, as he is scoring more in a less talented team overall But surely the only way to sign players to attract them to the Far North on a pittance of a wage is to scour the "depths" and look to take on board players with "potential" - or even injuries - to provide them the opportunity of "selling" themselves on the SPL stage. There is then a distinct possibility that the likes of Warren, Draper and possibly OTJ may move on at the end of the season. The "trick" would be to look at extended contracts in mid season but then there are always agents to deal with. Have to agree though that some of our transfer fees received have been shocking.

Well maybe you should take a look at them - before you start commenting on the manner in which they are being reported. Because if you had bothered to take a look at the Chairman's Annual Report you would have seen that it is the Chairman himself who raises and highlights the issue that if measures had not been taken to boost the squad beyond what was originally budgeted last season, then the financial situation might have been a whole lot worse in that the club could have been relegated. The quotes on BBC online are directly from the Chairman's annual report - and these are also the quotes used on the back page of the PandJ (30.10.12.) which takes exactly the same line.
