ICT -V- Elgin City : Matchday Thread
Can see the logic of the starting line up - but no Bloomingshite on the bench - is he injured again ?

ICT Away support more loyal than home
True loyalty to me is going home and away and following no matter where, why and irrespective of the outcome. Peeple can follow loyaly from all over the Globe - Scotty and Gabby get up at all hours to follow My view in regard to ICT is that I will be as loyal as I can be and follow whenever I can. "If ICT lives to be 100, I hope I live to be 100 minus 1 day, so I never have to live without you.?

Help required
I have been asked to add to the Hellgin pre match review and I have what I can only describe as "muffled" memories and most cant be printed Plus evidently no experience of Jeggies v Elgin - well apart from the Red Shoes after a Jeggies Cup Tie. So Old Timers - what are your memories - especially dates ????

Team for hellgin
I would have thought that Butcher has to stick closely to what he put out at Perth - I would only swop Foran for Eric but I suspect TB will swop Foran for Gil. Anyway what is wrong with a draw and a midweek trip to Hell.

Why oh why oh why.............?
I can only presume that the Match Commander may be the same eejit who targetted me at the Arabdome. To be honest the stewards actually looked and sounded embarrassed - they did give me two final warnings after all - and the second one was when I had been sitting doon for ten minutes but stood up to start off a chant. They, to be fair, started off by saying that the Match Commander felt that I was clearly the main person who was inciting the rest of the fans to stand up and sing - they really did appear to appreciate my response that I was simply standing up to support my team and bring some atmosphere to a football match - but again it was on the instructions of the Match Commander - they even advised me that it would be better if I started a song but didnt look at the other supporters   The coppers clearly told me that he werent bothered at all but he had been instructed by the match commander to maintain a watch on me - and one tapped me on the shoulder and smiled as he trooped off with five minutes to go. Who exactly is this Match Commander as I would actually wish to write formally to him or his employers. What irritates me more is the way at the beginning that they think that by going in and throwing out random people is a warning to others.

Why so quiet? (Immortal Howden Ender)
Still trying to avoid more Gestapo stewards who I understand are the same ones that do the ArabDome - what a feckin surprise. I've been too busy (and have invaded Englandshire again) to log on but ya can see ma comments in the match report - apart from the OTT stewarding it was another good day out - Tulloch Insty is a fine near to the ground watering place and even the 208 wasnt so bad afterwards. Lets jus say "I'll be back" - and leave off Lizi, her tartan rug and flask. But feck me did we no completely outnoise ya and show again by - going by numbers - that we have the best support in Scotland.

St Johnstone -V- ICT : Matchday Thread
Well I actually will praise Butcher as he has been under pressure for weeks to change the formation and the tactics - from mny who are chastising him now - and despite having a depleted squad he made an attempt - and very close to what I suggested after the Killie game. Esson - MOM again by a country mile - shurely a Scotland squad place is now a just reward - and spare a thought fer poor old Tuffey. Tokely is and always will be a full back - he looks good in central defence at times because of his strength and committment but he has lost us a lot of goals and is reliant on the cover of Munro. He has more positional sense at full back and gives us an attacking option. Granty and Innes arent used to each other - that was evident but we may have to persist and allow them a few games to gel - and dont forget that Innes has been out fer ages so will evidently be match naieve. Shinnie put in a fine shift again as did Ross and I put the two youngsters in the top three for the POY. A lot of people have been shouting to play Duff in midfield and again I would say that this is summat the we should persist with unless we get a ballplayer in the window. He is a fine full back but a better midfielder - and look at what he had to play to in front of him !! I can wholly understand the logic of dropping either Duncan or Cox as they are identikits - Cox undoubtedly go the shout as he has been the better of the pair for the last three games. I almost cant say it again but why is Eric starting and why isnt Gil been played "in the hole". I would have loved to see Foran start deep left with Gil and Rooney up front. Gil simply isnt match fit and like Sanchez may never be the best player to start on a cold January afternoon in Perf. Gil has always looked lost to me when he is played wide left. Poor Rooney put in the effort but was practically double teamed most of the match with little or no support. So praise to TerryandMo fer trying summat different and lets face it - we are not the same team with out the outlet of Johnny Hayes - how may times do defenders and midfielders look to him when they try to look for a pass. Esson has been a one man saviour of late but Hayes is a missing match winner or saver. And gawd do I hate Colin Samuel - as soon as he came on I began to feel that what looked like an inevitable 0-0 was on the cards - but at the end of the day St Jones Toun were the ones who deserved it - maybe apart from the support perspective.

That was the year that was
2010 was a vintage year for Inverness Caledonian Thistle and in respect of attending away games will undoubtedly never be equalled. I have to say that 2010 will live in my memory as the year that my spirits were raised again and again - days out like Dumbfries, the Ship Inn and the SPL travels were the finest anti-depressant known to mankind. So many thanks to TerryandMo, the players and staff of ICT and to all my muckers who have travelled along the long and winding road with me. I will continue to travel on the TerryandMo express and await the Caley D T-shirt to remind me of 2010. And special New Year felicitations to Mr Bennett, Mr Sutherland and Mr Fraser - I am pleased to note that you have began to learn and are losing the Muppet tags. Can I be feckin kinder than that !! HAPPY NEW YEAR

St Johnstone Game
I will be in attendance. This must be an away banker as we should be hammering the lesser lights of the league.

Riding our luck
Can you explain what you mean by that phrase? Release his favourites as in put people like Gil on the park and let Foran/Odi attack. Or release as in get rid of Foran/Odi or whoever? Eric would be the first to go to the bench - I cannot believe that he still starts at home - he is an effective substitute and little else. Foran as I alluded to in another thread looks the part away from home when he plays a lot deeper, he can pass and has the head for the game and he is far more effective coming from deep - why cant that be mirrored at home. I also think that Duncan and Cox are a good pairing away from home but far too defensive and lacking in the killer ball to be playing together at home. I would give Gil a run but in the position that TB appears to favour Eric in.

DFS selling out?
You just feckin contributed - and I am shure that you know what happened in 2006. Why cant we all accept that this is another episode of Tulloch and Orion - and what was going to happen in 2006 is goint go to happen in 2011 - but the good news is that should open the door for a wee injection of spondoolicks for TB to go window shopping - and I am also informed that it was a certain Mr Savage who started the Gardyne talks. But the nexy=t question must be - where does John Robertson fit in ?

ICT -V- Kilmarnock : Matchnight Thread
Every time I have seen him play - 3 times so far - he never goes down the left wing - he always cuts inside and favours his rite foot. When he was moved up front at Stockport - lying just off Shane Sutherland - I thought that we had unearthed a beauty - I just feel that it is a waste playing him wide left. Lets face it - we were beaten by a better team on the night. There was just a clear no penalty shout when Eric tumbled after beeing outbeefed.
-
things to work on
Here is todays "Armchair Manager" episode. Away from home we play as a tight unit but we are so good away from home becos defensively TerryandMo have got their tactics just rite - and way from home we have Hayes to take the oppo on and the likes of Foran deep, holding up and being a bit of a playmaker. We hold a high defensive line, Rosscoe marks and Granty sweeps. Cox and Duncan take turns of trying to support Rooney and Ross does ditto. Even Eric can be a menace away from home. But at home we are also defensively motivated and that is a recipe for. Gawd to we need a rite back to allow Duff to go central and how I would love to see somebody who can put their foot on the ball and spray forward passes instead of the carb impersonators. I also feel however that we have the potential and the squad to move forward

Riding our luck
Our awy form will keep us in touch with the hunt for the Top Six - here come a few red dots for me but shurely Butcher can see what is going wrong at home and he has to unleash an attacking mode and release some of his favourites to boot.

ICT -V- Kilmarnock : Matchnight Thread
I now feel and share the dissapointment and the frustration - I havent got time to read what has been posted before but here goes. ESSON Still the best player overall this season by a country mile - unlucky with the penalty but he is making a habit of hitting strikers when they go to his left - as with the Jam Tarts I dont think the Killie boy was going anywhere. DUFF Some said he had a stinker but I felt that he held his own and at least he tried to pass the ball with some forward momentum. I still think he is a fine rite back but I am afraid that we miss his craft in midfield becos he has looked as he has the composure to be more of a playmaker than anyone else that we possess. GRANTY Rosscoe and Granty are solid and structured away from home but they looked like they hadnt played together before. Granty was sadly caught out of possession on a few occassions but he had to do a lot of "sweeping" mainly for Rosscoe. ROSSCOE He certainly looked the part and was the last man standing at times but he is one paced and Sammon took him to the cleaners. In recent games Rosscoe has man to manned the main striker and Granty has sweeped - that didnt happen last nite and I felt that was mainly down to a very poor central midfield and Rosscoe. He looked immense at times in the second half as he seemed to be there time and time again to put in a saving header and a block - and fer that he deserves MOM - I know that he will never falter in reagrd to passion, effort and committment but there were a few occasions last nite where he was slow to react and found himself in the rite place at the rite time - it was not about positional sense. SHINNIE I though that he stood up to a real test. Killie clearly targetted him and our left defence - why ? - becos Shinnie WAS our left defence. Granty was too busy covering Rosscoe, Duncan and Cox were toiling in the middle and Foran went defensively AWOL in the second half. Shinnie looked as bad as Rosscoe looked good but there is always more than meets the eye. ROSS I would say that central midfield is where he will end up. He isnt a winger is he ? And I feel that too much pressure was put on him to be a Hayes lookalike - which again he isnt. Id love to see Duff in the hole and Ross in central midfield. DUNCAN / COX Pulled all over the place as was Cox. The movement and craft of the Killie midfield and the support on the break nullified Duncan and Cox. But neither are playmakers or can spot a pass or an early ball. They are like two Ray Wilkins crabs in the middle and it is not helped that Granty and rosscoe miss out the poor wee crabs with hoofs. FORAN Take that feckin captains armband off him and give it to Esson or Rosscoe. He isnt a maraduing lef winger any feckin more - why cant we play him deeper as we do away from home - as he is far, far more effective when he comes from deep. Goal took a wicked deflection but he always looked the most likely to score at the back post. ERIC WTF was he started for and in the hole - AARGGGGHHHH. ROONEY Was that a feckin lookalike or what. Away from home he moves all the time - last nite he never left a square that was ten yards in diameter. I can understand why he got frustrated as he got zilch service but he was rarely looking to get on the last man but rareley either had anyone to play balls off to with forward momentum. GIL WTF was he played again wide left - feck me it is clear that he favours his rite foot and will always cut inside - play him in the feckin hole alongside Rooney - there he has the touch and the movement to cure one of our problems.

Fans
Section G certainly has the potential. There's a fair wee collection of singers in there and almost double the gathering that I had expected. The chants were flowing at the beginning - but lets face it - there has to be summat going on down on the pitch to rev up any atmosphere and that was sadly lacking last nite. But there was no overt slagging off or venom - only some frustration and no feckin wonder. Think Dalneigh Caley summed it up when he said the atmosphere rises when you are winning although I would say that the atmosphere rises when you are given some entertainment or some hope - without Hayes that is simply nondescript. But give Section G a bit of a boost with some attacking football and it deffo has the potential to match the Away support. But Respect to the Killie boys - for a Wednesday nite in mid December that was some turn up and some feckin noise.

New faces in January...
Of course it would be a step up from the M.Mouse league - A fecking huge step up. You just have to see the Fleetwood set up to believe it - so enviable - plus the wages are on a par.

New faces in January...
Well me and the "scout" met up at Fleetwood this afternoon as the Cod Army beat Southport 2-0 and a certain Shaun Beeley scored the second goal and notched the MOM. We spoke to our mucker, the chairman Andy Pilley, and he said that a deal could be made but it was down to Shaun and his agent and that ICT had not made a formal offer - I also spoke to Shaun who confirmed that he had been approached pre season and hinted that he would see the SPL as a step up.
