  1. Cocaine is white and powdery and doesnt wet ya. Was in the Supporters Bar before the Well game as well and it is a friendly wee place - and just a stones throw away from the stadium. As a reformed character I refrained from the temptation of intoxication but some of this sites' stalwarts were well oiled and close to being in the drunk in a football stadium criteria. :001:
  2. Well ya have to say that Brookes certainly lived his dream - and fair play to the man - he put in a lot of money but he stood by them and probably brought a community together in the process. I almost feel that his failing health turned it into a dying wish. At least he stood on the terraces and didnt spout a load of crap. Have to disagree with the fan base - there were a lot of kids in the Gretna support who wrere wearing a mixture of strips - English, Hearts, Cellic and Rangers. When they fall from the SPL they may find themselves losing a lot of that support. It just feels like Gretna is a passing whim.
  3. Bit reluctant to get drawn into this as this feels like beg to differ scenario. But I aint and never have had made direct comparisons with wages - it is all about performance as far as I am concerned. Caley D made some positive observations but there were lots of negatives as well. He pushed the ball past the full back and had a three yard start on him but was caught up by the end of fifteen yards. He plays mainly down the centre and very rarely goes to the flanks or moves into the forward spaces - on the last defender for example. I could go on but I will desist. He is doing things on the pitch which would be expected of most professional footballers - he isnt excelling or providing entertainment - he is a good pro - end of story. And in regard to the car scenario I would prefer to make a comparison between the cost of running it, the size of the engine and the performance expectations. If the lower priced car is performing better than or on a par with the higher priced model then you would be complaining to the manufacturer. Marius to Bayne should be like a Jaguar to an Escort. Perhaps it is because the Jag has some faulty parts due to wear and tear whilst the Escort has been customised and souped up. :001:
  4. I am afraid that his magic moments lie in the depths of time. IMHO he comes across so well as he never wastes a ball and always plays the simple pass. Give him time and he could be deadly - but you rarely get that in the SPL. He forages in bursts and not consistently. In other words he looks good at times but IMHO is not producing the end product. Totally agree with Stan. And I would say the opposite of Caley D - not many people can see his faults and he has become a protected species and too many people are concentrating on what he has done well in a game and not on his general performance - why is he being hooked?? . Week in week out I am hearing wait until he scores - wait until he is 100% fit. :017: :017: Wyness is a better player because he has to run the lines and work harder and make space. His close control and turning is more akin to the Wyness of old. Wyness is playing better to compensate fer Marius. I would agree that Marius is a complete role model in how to make the game look easy but his lack of pace and mobility is quite frankly shocking. He can produce 2 or 3 killer passes but is that enuff. I can see Marius doing a job fer us at home but only on the bench away - and surely that is simply not good enuff. And no team has set out to nullify Marius. There is also a big difference in a direct assist and an indirect assist - the most difficult part of the game is putting the ball in the net.
  5. Yip - this year there is less of a gap between at least 6 teams and whichever team puts in a good run could be crucial. We do have the personnel to make the top six - IMHO it is all about getting a settled side, a settled system and more of a goal scoring potential up front.
  6. The goalie went the wrong feckin way - does that not signify that there was something to do with the technique of the taker. :017: :017: :017: And at least he had the guts and confidence to take it - would have been an excellent opprtunity fer Marius to open his SPL account and make atone fer his bloomer at Hibs. :023:
  7. Have I got this all feckin wrong or what ? Nearly every paper that I pick up this morning places Marius in the same bracket as Cowie and Wyness. :024: Before and after the game the large majority of people were agreeing with the comments I have placed on this thread. :024: I thought that basically he looked good in the first 20 minutes - missed a great chance set up by Wyness and then faded badly. Bayne came on at Killie and made little difference or impression - but he did yesterday. I also noticed that Marius made space on the wide left 2 or 3 times in the second half and his team mates chose to go down another avenue. :024: :024: I am more concerned about strong comments that it is part of his contract that he should start if he is deemed to be fit. :018: I am getting really pished off with the constant drive to keep on playing him. There were sections of the crowd yesterday that were clapping when he passed the feckin ball - and claimed that he was unlucky to miss two absolute sitters. :023: So lets talk about the performance and NOT anything else - that is all that I am bothered about.
  8. I reckon that this is the ideal plan to give Bayne a run in the team - at the expense of Niculae :crazy07: Niculae is a class (or two) above Bayne in the technical sense but Bayne is a class (or four) above Marius when it comes to the identikit fer the Scottish game - endeavour, guts and pace. Bayne is the ideal forward to play away at the Hill of Dung and must be the totally ideal candidate for Castle Greyskull. He must be just bursting to show what he can do.
  9. Def and Hysteria are preferable. [img width=500 height=338]http://www.geocities.com/mistydreamer06/dlmain.jpg
  10. Fer fecks sake - Marius was generally poor against Gretna. The team "clicked" when he departed. IMHO we have to play a strong side as we have to get to a major game again. Marius may be more effective at home but not in an away style which calls fer playing on the fast break. The central defence will be interesting as to who plays with Granty - I suspect that McGuire will be rested and that leaves a choice between Caff, Watt and Proctor - I would not be surprised if Brew goes with the latter - I would love to see Cowie get a run in central midfield but we have liitle to offer in cover on the right (Proctor!!). I would certainly go fer Bayne and Wyness up front - and even more so at Castle Greyskull. Marius may be more effective as a substitute away from home.
  11. As a reformed character I took in this game in a sober fashion. I was amazed by the number of ICT fans who appeared to be intoxicated and possibly could have been ejected for being "drunk" - The language was blue at times and there were racist chants about Ross-shire. I found myself having to stand at times just to watch the game becos of perpertrators standing up in front of me. It was fortunate that the game was not been stewarded by the vigilant crew from Inverness. The courts in Motherwell would have been full on Monday morning. I have considered my position in regard to future attendances and I have decided that I am going to take the risk of getting pished again like everybody else. :001:
  12. Just watched the third goal again - quite unbelievable and tell me if I am wrong but was that a sweeping forward move ending with a 1-2 between Bazza and Granty followed by a 1-2 between Bazza and Hastings. :crazy07: .
  13. FRASER :001: :001: :001: Very difficult to make any sort of judgement as he was rarely tested. One fine save in the second half but shot stopping has always been his forte. Still looks nervous about coming off his line - but at least he gave us a wave. ROSSCOE :001: :001: :001: :001: Lets just say that it was a typical day for the foragingCafu Tokely. GRANTY :001: :001: :001: Thought that he looked more assured today but again was rarely stretched. Even became an attacking force in the second half. MCGUIRE :001: :001: :001: To be honest I hardly noticed him. HASTINGS :001: :001: :001: For some reason he still concerns me. He appears more prone to a slip and/or error these days. COWIE :001: :001: :001: Flitted in and out of the game. Great when he was on the ball but missing in action at times. What an engine he has. The free kick was probably fortunate due to the slow response of the keeper but it was well executed. I was a bit disappointed that he didnt move into centarl midfield when Blackie went off. DUNCAN :001: :001: :001: Another who showed some great stuff and some lackadaisical stuff. He strted bt playing the easy ball but tried to overcomplicate the simple pass at times. BLACK :001: :001: :001: :001: I thought that he "bossed" the game before he went off. He is really forming a great partnership with Duncan. ROYSTER :001: :001: :001: What a feckin goal. Still wouldnt be my pick for the left wide spot and I was surprised that he was moved into the centre. I still feel Roy could make the left back spot his own. WYNESS :001: :001: :001: :001: :001: My MOM by a long way. Great movement and great turns. Deserved a hat trick. MARIUS :001: :001: I shall await the flak!! I actually thought that he was going to start to prove me wrong - some lovely stuff early doors - but his lack of pace, mobility and movement were only to clear. Unfortunately he blew two great chances to open his SPL account and he was fortunate not to be hooked before he was. BAZZA :001: :001: :001: :001: Flashes from the past. He came on and turned the game just as Gretna appeared to be taking control of the midfield. Some great wing play and with Cowie going wide right we used the wings to their bet - fer once. BAYNE :001: :001: :001: Gawd does he look hungry and eager to prove a point. Gave us the pace and movement and committment that Marius didnt. The Gretna defence just didnt know what hit them. PROCTOR :001: :001: :001: A utility squad player or is he being earmarked for a specific role - shurely it must be central defence - I have always liked Bambi but would love to see him play 90 minutes of SPL football in the same position. Have to agree with a lot of what Mary Hill has said. It was a scrappy game and to be honest it looked as if we began to cruise a bit in the second half but the introduction of Bayne and Wilson brought us to our senses. Lets face it - it could have been 6 or 7 by the end. And how many were there from Sneck - I thought there were more us than were at the Well game and the singing was non stop and full of caraic. Great day out. :021: .
  14. I aint sitting next to any ghosthunting Hun on a feckin jaunt to Castle Greyskull. I am hoping to be staying the night at the Govan Thistle Hotel. :001:
  15. I suggest that we also have to take the Away supports into consideration. We must have the steepest prices in the SPL fer the away supports. We can charge the OF cnuts full price but there should be reductions and family packages for most of the other visiting teams. Many of the Away support numbers have dwindled and it is probably becos of support. It is regularly raised as an issue on P&B. Is this not supposed to be Mike Smith's territory. :024:
  16. Save some money - cut them in squares and clean yer erse with them - especially any photties of Doug Rougvie.
  17. Fer fecks sake - If we got him from Cowdenbeath we would be raving feckin mad.
  18. Do these kind of threads belong on the Main Forum ? Personally I am fed up reading about the feckin stewards. :014:
  19. There are undoubtedly legal and contract issue involved from both sides. Rush it and you just end up in more of a feckin mess. Dot all the i's and cross all the t's and nothing can come back to haunt you. Take as long as you like but get it right - for both the club and Richie. If richie goes it may require financial considerations - if he stays the contract could be a lengthy document with a lot of stipulations and boundaries.
  20. I am going to the Family fun day followed by a Coke in the Supporters Club - I am a reformed character. :023:
  21. Note that Proctor played at right back - thougth that he was being groomed fer the central defending slot. Have to say that we looked extremely dodgy at the back at St Midden - not one formation has looked that solid this season - it is becoming a big big problem - and shifting it about aint helping either. Roll on the transfer window. The central four at midden looked as good as I have seen all season - Cowie,Duncan,Black and Rankin would always be my four starters. I wouldnt play Marius away from home and would go fer Brew,Wyness and Bayne in that order.
  22. Given previous mental state assessments that I have carried out I would suggets that Maimie may be referring to Electro-convulsive therapy. :023:
  23. I think that we should start with the defence.
