  1. I wonder if that mean Hearts have lowered their wage demands or that Livi are paying bigger wages than us?
  2. I'd be very, very surprised if Dods came back. We shall wait and see!
  3. Well there have been some good opinions, some strange opinions and some absolutely ridiculous ones made by a variety of posters but then everyone is entitled to their own take on the game How some people can say that was the worst Hibs team they've seem up here puzzles me though and doesn't say much for us cause they caused us no end of problems today. It was a better performance than against Hamilton (wouldn't be hard) well in the first half but the second 45 was back to the walls. Our substitutions were probably merited, well in the sense of who was taken off anyway, as all 3 deserved to be hooked especially Imrie who was rank rotten today. I guess Lionel was brought on to strengthen the midfield and provide some height against a few of the bigger Hibs player, just a shame he is rubbish in the air and seems to close his eyes when going for a header! We got a point we probably didn't deserve today and I'm sure we will play better and get nothing. What worries me is the very poor home form we are displaying. Looks like the away fans may get the best deal this season - I hope so anyway as if we don't perform on the road our home performances aren't likely to keep us up
  4. I suppose we should be happy with a point considering the amount of chances Hibs created but it's still poor fair for the home supporter
  5. It's up there with the "Sign Sol Bamba" comments. His move to Watford has collapsed under 'mysterious' circumstances! He may well be a player our management team would be interested in Looking at comments made on the BBC website tonight regarding the current injuries we have gone from being very happy with the current squad of players to being 'down to the bare bones' due to 2 players being out!! Something not right there :thumb04:
  6. Wagaluka been given another week on trial

    Team For Hibs

    Proctor is injured as well
  8. From P & J Online..... CALEY Thistle manager Craig Brewster will give Ugandan midfielder Dan Wagaluka the rest of the week to try to earn a contract. The 22-year-old played the final 12 minutes against Liverpool in Barry Wilson?s testimonial game on Monday night but still has to prove he is worth an extended stay at Caledonian Stadium. The winger could provide an alternative option to the rest of the players at Brewster?s disposal and only a nominal fee would be required to take him from his present club Uganda Revenue Authority, based in the capital city of Kampala. Brewster said: ?Dan understands the game and can play. He is an exciting player who puts a smile on people?s faces. ?We will see how he does for the rest of the week in training and take it from there. ?Dan arrived last weekend and has trained with us for the last three days. ?Dan knows how to play football but it is understanding coming to a different culture and a different country to play. ?I have to see if his size is suitable for our game as you have to be physical in Scotland. ?I am sure they have physical players in his country but he will have to meet the demands of Scottish football. ?You do need a balance of players in a squad. ?We will have him this week and then I will have to make a decision on whether to keep him for another week. ?I don?t want to keep him here if I am not going to offer him a contract.? Brewster refused to rule out making another addition to his squad after spending ?50,000 to sign Adam Rooney from Stoke City last week. Caley Thistle still have money to spend from the transfer of Marius Niculae to Dinamo Bucharest and Brewster added: ?You never know what can happen in terms of injuries but I am happy with the players I have and if someone becomes available I would have to look at it. ?I have said all along if I need to bring in someone the board will do all they can to help me.?

    Vigurs

He needs to be getting some games under his belt. It seems strange that he has dropped out of the match day squad altogether after having such a good pre-season. He already offers more in footballing terms than 'very fit' McBain
  10. Depressingly but probably predictably Brewster was on the radio this morning saying that he thinks the guy is a good footballer but is probably too small for Scottish football!! He will be monitored in training.

    John Sutton

I hear he's signing for Motherwell tomorrow
  12. No famous players - they all looked like kids. The wee Number 6 was a class act though. Proctor & Vigurs were immense tonight The Ugandan lad is tiny but had a few nice touches
  13. I was quite surprised how low the crowd was!! I suppose some people are away on holiday and Hamilton aren't exactly glamorous opponents but there were 400-500 less people than usual. Anyone know how season tickets sales went? There seems to be a few new faces in and around where I sit
  14. After the highs of last week we are brought crashing back down to earth by a VERY poor display. Some very disappointing invidual performances but the team struggled as a whole against a well organised, strong and workmanlike Accies. I don't think we can have any arguments about the result as the better team won - unfortunately. There have to be questions over the tactics as I'm really not sure why we started 4-5-1 playing at home against Hamilton!! The long ball hump forward was in overdrive today and it truly baffles me why the players persevere with this. All we do is lump it forward, lose possession and then we are on the back foot defending again! There will have to be a big improvement next week as if we keep playing like that we'll be in first division next season
  15. Nice 1 Must rate him highly to hand out a 3 year deal Welcome to the ICT family Mr Rooney
  16. ?3 million from Portsmouth apparently Looks an OK player but I mainly remember him for getting knocked spark out when assaulted by Ben Thatcher
  17. Based on past selections I'd be very surprised to see Duff get a game. If Munro doesn't make it Hastings will be in the middle with L D-Z at left back (I suspect)
  18. Headline in P&J online.... CALEY JAGS FINALLY GET STRIKER ROONEY Then the article goes onto say we are hoping to sign him today!!
  19. From P&J online..... Ugandan trialist Dan Wagaluka last night flew out from Africa destined for Scotland as he bids to land a contract with Caley Thistle. He is expected in the Highlands before the weekend to begin his trial stint.
  20. McAllister has been dropped from the Under-21 squad
  21. The BBC gossip section yesterday mentioned Newcastle were lining up a bid for McGregor! I imagine the Rangers fans would explode if he were sold as well
  22. Just heard on Radio Scotland it's a done deal. I'm sure the Rangers fans will be delighted - maybe they can sign another striker with the cash
  23. Well organised and very hard working team. We'll have to be on our game on Saturday to get something out of the match Away to chance my predictor score - I was very impressed with them
  24. WOO HOO!!! FINALLY. Well done to the manager and all the players :thumb04: What a great way to start the season - my face is aching from grinning so much! I really thought we'd geaten beaten today but I'm DELIGHTED we won That's a nice monkey off our back and one less cliche for the media to trawl out when we play the Dons Glad to hear Calderwood is such a gracious loser :018:
  25. Of course we have no way of knowing how much Stoke are wanting. For all we know they might be after silly money and the board are being prudent rather than tight fisted! Maybe?!? I think the vast majority of us would be happier taking a gamble on Rooney (a player most of us have never seen) than Elliot though
