Did anyone hear what Chick Young's 'sensational' breaking news on this story was last night? I gave up listening after about 25 minutes as the news was so 'sensational' he just went on with the terrible Planet/World football feature -
'Happy with the current squad' and 'confident in the players we have' are phrases I don't like to hear as they are usually only used when you've failed to sign anyone you were after! Still there are stll 3 weeks of the transfer window left to go

I feel a bit more confident for the season now that the 'font' of all football knowledge that is Chick Young has tipped us for relegation Did he not say just a few days ago Rangers were absolute certainties to qualify against Kaunas! Looking at his in depth reasoning for our imminent drop certainly gives you food for thought - "Inverness have been in the SPL for a while and it is getting more difficult for them to stay up."

I've found Teletext (ICT page is 535 for those who don't know) to be pretty good actually. They usually have some new information on what's going on every day - of course it's not always right

According to the P&J article today he hasn't signed for us but we are 'hopeful' he might be onboard by Saturday. Also mentions we have cooled our interest in Elliot

I've heard worse names mentioned recently! Certainly ticks the experienced box and has quite a decent scoring record, that, of course, being weighed against being somewhat injury prone :024: St J. have quite a few strikers on the books just now so it's feasible - maybe ?50k??

It'll be Cowie's agent who is playing hardball and quite rightly trying to get the best deal for his client. I'm sure I read up until recently that Cowie didn't even have an agent and only employed one because he disliked doing the negotiating himself

Several players have been given 3 year deals over the last few years - Golly, Rankin, Hastings, Duncan as well as Barrowman, even Dean Macdonald was given a 2 year deal with an option on a 3rd year! Not sure how and why though

It wouldn't be a 'proper' transfer window if there wasn't a long, drawn out, transfer saga involving ICT :015: Let's be honest no one knows what's going on here with different versions of the same story appearing in the press. The sooner it gets sorted out the better

Interesting to read in the P&J that Nicuale got a % of the transfer fee but we still made a profit on him The article also mentioned the board hasn't decided if Brewster gets any of the money from the transfer to spend :029:

Isn't it fantastically positive that so may people are counting on our SPL survival based a 20 year old with 24 first team starts to his name who hasn't even signed a contract joining us as a first team player!!

Interesting take on the story Slip1970 and one I'm not sure I can agree with especially as the club probably sent someone round to pack up his house & bags the moment last season ended :023: I'm sorry to see the player go and it makes me even more apprehensive for the forthcoming season than I already was. Let's hope Brewster can sign a couple of decent players of a somewhat higher pedigree than Crawford & Elliot! The one good thing to come out of it will (hopefully) be the end of one of our regular contributors incessant & tedious postings on Niculae :tic01:

It's lot easier to play against folk your own age than it'll be for him to play in the rough & tumble of the SPL We'd better hope Rooney is excellent and actually wants to join us

Personally I agree that we need a commanding centre back but unfortunately it has been made very clear that we are not going to make any more defensive signings this season

P & J article has it that Hearts knocked us back on the loan anyway asking for more money than we were prepaired to pay I would be flabbergasted if anyone paid ?600,000 for Elliot :crazy07:
