  1. So Nakamura played on with a boken bone in his hand and McBain came off 'cos he hurt his. Must be made of stonger stuff in Japan :006:
  2. Signed with Dunfermline till the end of the season. Is there another SPL club with so many strikers?
  3. It's up to Rory to prove all his critics wrong. I doubt there are many people on here that actually want him to fail? We'd all be delighted if he turned out to be a top quality striker.
  4. All he did was pull a stupid face and do a crap wee dance (obviously his top nightclub moves!!) - it still annoyed the **** out of me though :014:. He did exactly the same in the league game. Still he was getting dogs abuse from sections of our fans so you can't really blame him for giving some back
  5. I noticed that when Black had gone off Wilson was pushed up right alongside Graham Bayne. Perhaps we were at different games then? :004: To me it seemed Barry was up front pretty much all the game or maybe playing just in behind Bayne. He didn't play up front when Black came off though although he did lead one counter attack probably cos he was too knackered to come back !! He was wide left as Rankin ended up in central midfield for his 3rd position of the day
  6. When Black was taken off Barry dropped to wide left and McSwegan went up front - still 4-4-2 Wilson off - McAllister wide left still 4-4-2 I really don't think the substitutions can in any way be blamed for us conceding the goals

    Ian Black

He did play well today but got another silly booking :006: Before the Falkirk incident I didn't think he'd been playing especially well compared to some of last seasons performances but he obviously has the talent. Hopefully he'll keep his place for next weekends game and show us the good aspects of his game
  8. Black had to come off because he was knackered. Obviously not match fit as he's been sitting on his *** for weeks which, lets not forget, many of the fans were quite happy with after the infamous Falkirk incident :006: Today's result was a real kick in the b***s and unfortunately just about finishes our season Still maybe stuffing United next week will ease the pain :004:
  9. I do remember him from his Hearts days. A huge talent but very inconsistent and seem to remember he was very easy to knock off the ball. If he could add a bit of muscle he'd be brilliant Levein would have him at United if he thought he was up to it. Far too lightweight
  10. Just posted a similar thread without seeing this one -ooppss!! Can't say I agree with Rankin24 assessment of Cowie though he looked VERY average in a very poor team - I only hope there is more to come. Hislopsoffsideagain is probably right with his assessments of Webb and McPake. The livingston lad far outshone the NI international who may be tall but is very lightweight I fear Golly will now be resigned to our infamous Hall Of Fame as he looks comfortable at 1st Division level :006:
  11. I was amongst illustrious company on my first trip to Victoria Park this season with Charlie Christie and Gordon Strachan in attendance. Obviously there were past, present(?) and future players on display for both teams in what was a very important game for our near neighbours. It was almost sad to see how much RC poorer are now then they are were even last season. I saw them play 6 or 7 times last year and they looked half decent but then again we did pinch Rankin from them. The esteemed Charles Bannerman said this was a good prefromance from them as well so I'm glad I missed earlier performances. According to rumours 2 potentail centre halves for us were on view. Webb from County and McPake from Livingston. It's always hard to judge on 1 performance but Webb was rubbish today whilst the Livingston lad looked half decent. IHE wrong again I HOPE!! :004: Golly lined up in direct opposition to Cowie today and hardly broke sweat. I'd like to give Cowie the benefit of the doubt and assume he is just going through the motions till he gets his move to the big league but apart from a couple of nice dead ball deliveries he was really basically MIA. Whilst mentioning Golly he delivered a rather good powerful free kick in the first half but was largely anonymous in the game. The 1st division may well be his domain because he didn't scream 'quality player' with his play today. 2 of our 'former' players did make an impact today. I thought Mark McCulloch was the man of the match in central midfield although they officially gave it to the Celtic loanee Gardyne?? for his dodgy haircut. Liam Fox came on as as sub and did nothing apart from score a 25-30 yard screamer. When we lost Mark Brown someone suggested we should go for Craig Samson as back up. If they'd been at today's game they would have cringed. He is a liability to any team. How he is still in goal for County surely has to reflect on there league position. There was a huge made up crowd figure at the game today but the few RC fans that were left at full time were reflecting on cheaper season ticket prices next season - I tend to agree
  12. I think it's fair to say that several new faces will have to be brought into the 1st team squad over the summer. By my reckoning at least 7 players will have left us over the course of the season with potentially another 4 going in the summer LEFT Brown Dods Keogh Proctor Parrat Fox Smith MAYBE Hastings Dargo McSwegan Golly To offset this we will have brought in Rankin Ridgers Paatelainen and Cowie Defence and up front would definitely need strengthening
  13. I meant in footballing terms. Obviously they have more money than us but there average crowds are some way off 10,00!! Dundee United - 6902 Motherwell - 6141 Falkirk - 5562 US - 4974 :006:
  14. I thought a few of there players were taking it easy tonight. Obviously there minds were on the BIG game on Sunday :004:
  15. 11th or above each season will do us just fine :003: Don't think there is much to choose between ourselves, Falkirk, United and Motherwell so I suspect 7th is still a realistic target and I'm sure our league position will be up and down over the next few weeks. Assuming Dunfermline are mathematically relegated by the time the split happens then there will be 5 'meaningless' games with 15 points up for grabs. These could well give us the chance to climb a few places if CC can get the players minds as focused as last season
  16. Hopefully this is just a rumour :007: I was just wondering the other day if he'd signed his new contract offer - I'm assuming not Losing 3 of the back 5 would be a big blow to the club
  17. 16 teams fair enough but how many games a season?? 30 matches if you played everyone home and anyway once = less revenue :014:
  18. He is back in training but still feeling discomfort from the injury. Unlikely to be back until the Kilmarnock game on 10th March at earliest
  19. So outwith Vigurs who are the players to watch out for in the U-19's?
  20. maybe not injured, but fighting his way back to fitness after injury is he not ? He won't be match sharp after nearly 3-4 months out but he was always been a pretty fit guy and he's been back in training at least 4 weeks and lasted the whole of the last reserve game. Don't personally rate him but I'd pick him ahead of McBain every time
  21. Changes in personnel are one thing but a change in formation just ain't going to happen. With the current pool of players available I'd go for.................... Fraser Tokely Dods Munro Hastings Wilson Black Rankin Sutherland Bayne McSwegan I'll get at least 7 right out of that line up :014: P.S Everyone seems to assume Hart is injured but he isn't he is fit and available for selection
  22. I think Black being recalled is the far more likelier option than recalling Hart who couldn't get a game when he was fully fit and has been out for 4 months
  23. I'm not sure there will be any changes for the Celtic game - could be a case of CC giving everyone 'one more chance' At least we know there will be for the Dundee United with Roy finally being taken out of the team because of suspension. I'd like to see Black & Rankin in central midfield with Markus out wide left and Rory being dropped for McSwegan
  24. Is it time to be looking at the bigger picture? If Dargo leaves at the end of the season as many suspect he will we could be in real trouble. Denzil would be our No 1 striker and unfortunately his shoulder problem could well curtail his career (fingers crossed not) leaving us with Bayne & McAlismisstasitter who have to date been impotent up front. McSwegan lasted 90 minutes in the last reserve game so how casn't he be fit? What do the players do in training? Kintting?? Even if he isn't up to 90 minutes surely he could last an hour. Can't be any worse than what's up front just now :006:
  25. I think you will be in a minority of 1 with a statement like that. How can anyone like long ball football? Its boring, reflects a lack of skill or vision which has no place in the modern game I'd rather we lost every week playing a passing movement game rather than be subjected to such p**s :008:
