The only way Scottish football would get stronger was if half of the clubs went into administration today. That is the real reason why no radical change can happen because as we all know loan payments are hardly optional. if clubs were solvent, they'd be able to take a few years downtime. Put all debt ridden clubs into administration. gonna happen sooner or later anyway.

The Telegraph had an article where richie said ICT had one or two "billy big times" earlier in the season but the manager got rid of them. Any ideas who he is talking about? How early in the season....? regardless. A good article found very prominently on Flipboard app...picture and all...worldwide exposure. To state the obvious: looks as though the SFA made a clerical error,which was found out, thus probably a frantic 2 hours work done by some lawyer and lackys to find a way out, (which the English FA rules and the coincidental fact that Wilson wasnt picked in his first game has allowed) and thus the SFA tweets it to nip it in the bud and appear all cool. Hearts weren't to know so can't be blamed. ICT probably don't want to pursue it as it would involve lengthy and costly legal action with the English FA, Liverpool, SFA, Hearts all involved. It would be a phyrric victory. But the SFA haven't fooled anyone.

I think this will galvanise the players and let them know that ICT is very much on the radar and is more of a pull than some say. They know now they, along with TB, are in the shop window. Success brings such "rewards". 2nd is on!

They were in administration in 2002 and only stayed in the championship because of Portsmouth's debacle. 4 pts off safety, v. short time to get new players in, and O'Driscoll obviously wanted to see if they were realistic candidates for the Premier - they're not. Why do all that upheaval for something that might be lucrative short-term but stressful and short-lived?? The board have given permission - as a courtesy. It's prob in TB's contract. If it was a promotion chasing team, I'd be concerned. It's not.

I really enjoyed this year's show - it's not going to win any baftas but it's decent craic. Was hoping Terry would pop up on it. Wasn't many other SPL managers either. Danny Lennon, Neil Lennon, and that's it. Derek Adams is already a parody of himself but I thought OAE should do more SPL managers.

I was 14 years old when CT were voted in to the league. I was a shirt-wearing Aberdeen fan at the time. I'd watch Caledonian in pre-season friendlies when school was off. Went to the autograph signings, supporters bus, member of the junior supporters club, even wrote a letter to Ian Porterfield at about 7 years old. That was that. Took a while, like coming off heroin. These refuseniks are by and large OF fans who were caught out by CTs formation and couldn't kick the habit. They are questionable Highlanders

Terry Butcher will be Headhunted from the Daily Record and Sunday Mail Good article Mahonio Burley talks about experience being a great asset, and without meaning to be harsh, I was just thinking that with Mark McGhee being sacked, and George Burley off the boil, experience isn't everything. TB has been able to bring in almost every player in the squad. How important is that? Depends on the situation but perhaps TB is an acquired taste for certain players, and that's what has been his achilles heel at other places...just imo. Why would TB want to leave, unless it's for a plum premiership job.

If I was at the helm I would promote high school football. I'm sure if, for example, Charleston Academy was in the regional final against Alness there would be a bit of a turn out, and similarly in the quarter-final if Charleston played St.Aloysius in a two-leg affair that would generate some fans. Both schools would go plus parents, relatives, well-wishers etc. It would bring benefits to both the school, the students, and football as a whole. The final would be televised and played at Hampden, etc. From there, I'd like to see a high-school draft as in US sport. It is exciting, glamorous, fair, and would bring some sort of balance to the disparate population. Scotland has a unique geographical identity, and in this way, teams could get a fair crack of the whip. (It would only really apply to SPL teams as you couldn't have a starlet training in mud with East Stirling.) Three year contracts. After two years the players would be able to re-sign on their terms, or transfer at a price set by a SFA tribunal. The money from this 2nd year transfer would be shared between the school football system, the SFA and the club. Maybe an Engish club would pay 2m for the player? The school football system could get 25% towards their football program, the SFA 25% and the club and player 25% each. I think this would raise the profile of youth football, help schools raise money and give their students a real goal, and inject some life into the game. The measures mooted by the governing bodies are as dry as toast. Why not open it up, create something new, and go for broke. Need some major changes over and above extra/fewer teams.

The yellow card against Doran was nonsensical, I don't mind mistakes in refereeing, cos' it's a heck of a job, at breakneck speed - but booking someone for simulation when there was zero, zero reason to do so, when you have all the time in the world to call it - well - has to mean Brines has lost it as a ref. He was way out of control throughout.

Just went on e-ticketing - can't see how to actually go through far enough to see prices/classes of season tickets. Might be wrong, but if it's being pushed at present, be a shame if this wasn't working online...maybe i'm missing a trick though.

Again the Press seem to be pushing the "It's because NewCo were put to Div 3" line when that's not what Gilmour has said. He has said the same as Kenny Cameron...it's the rejection of the proposals for reform that are threatening the game. Yes, it seems it was Gilmour who said 5 could be in administration, and his general manager saying ICT would find it hard as a provincial club. 2+2=5 there! However, Gilmour did say 5 clubs could be in administration by end of August. I fail to see how these "reforms", reforms that were never actually planned on, or expected, to have been "rejected" have a bearing suddenly, as in August suddenly...

So is that on the EGM agenda? Going into administration? SKY and ESPN are being blamed, despite not one scrap of information of their intentions in the public domain. They are the playing bogeymen role in this farce obviously. SPL2 being sold as a choice between it or administration. ICT now have to reply to that statement, as any business who has been slandered by another would.

It made the Guardian. "One SPL club, Inverness, spoke out about its fears..." I guess Mr. Cameron did want the 16 team league, and fairer division of revenue - as many here, including myself, were advocating. But it took this for the SPL to even tentatively offer it - no statement, concrete offer, or promise. McLeish's report and Doncaster poured scorn on a 16-team league idea. That's why a statement chasing these things is like trying to get the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and thus evoked such interest. From all accounts ICT have a good chairman, one statement which is basically saying " we're in it now" and "couldn't we have sold out - a wee bit" after the event, isn't the same as voting for Newco. So... Onwards and upwards.

Just don't know why it was necessary. What was the purpose of the statement? Why was it written?? What was it going to achieve? The mind boggles.

Yes, Alex Thomson has been spot on. And what coverage is he getting in the BBC or in the papers? Diddly squat! So Regan has been getting his hands very dirty indeed. He has to be the first to go, secret e-mails, zero transparency, lies, smokescreens, corruption, threats, sensationalism, and all for one club. Time to....say goodbye...

This 16-team idea was shot down with an atomic bomb by the SPL not a year ago. Suddenly, it's now a good idea... Just shows how competent and thorough the bigwigs Doncaster and Topping are. Disgusting to throw this out after pushing for a 10-team league and mocking the populist views.

Kilmarnock will never service that debt. If ICT loses 250k then the margins are small enough that Killie on a good day will be breaking even. So one day they, Hearts, Aberdeen, Hibs, Celtic, will all go the way of Rangers too. Green was told by the SPL to go cap in hand, obviously Killie chairman was the only one who listened...a bit.
