  1. @bughtmaster Indeed! Just midnight approaching, kind of like St.J...dark and silent times...
  2. Just before half time. Sweeeet
  3. Might be a spur. Heads don't go down with this team. Big push. Dont want to do this next week...
  4. 5631 miles and it's no less exciting. Will be a late night, but worth it. I really, really don't want it to go down to the derby. I can handle a lot, but I think that would be too much. Get it squared away today.
  5. Pawlett could have owned up, but didn't because he's a cheat. I know it's simplistic but he may have cost someone a job, be it the canteen lady or John Brown. I feel for Dundee fans. I think the goal should be chalked off and the punishment given. If it was an illegible player this would have bigger repercussions win, lose or draw. Ok, this is not a bureaucratic matter, but it is still potentially as damaging/unfair. If you cheat in an exam, it's null and void, so why not in a game?
  6. I feel that it will go to the last day of the season one way or another. Could you imagine if at Dingwall ICT or RC needed to win, a draw allowing St.J to go third...*shudder*
  7. As the games hot up and the European chase and RC game looms closer, James Manson's story made me a bit more philosophical this weekend. The West Highland Free Press http://www.whfp.com/2013/05/03/determined-james-vows-to-go-the-extra-mile/ story might not be picked up by all in Sneck, but it seems his choice of attire might be of interest...
  8. "Sorry, this media is not available in your territory" *chuckles...enables VPN* "This content is not currently available for your device" *weeps*
  9. Really hoped for a draw there. Most exciting run in EVER.
  10. The only way Scottish football would get stronger was if half of the clubs went into administration today. That is the real reason why no radical change can happen because as we all know loan payments are hardly optional. if clubs were solvent, they'd be able to take a few years downtime. Put all debt ridden clubs into administration. gonna happen sooner or later anyway.
  11. The Telegraph had an article where richie said ICT had one or two "billy big times" earlier in the season but the manager got rid of them. Any ideas who he is talking about? How early in the season....? regardless. A good article found very prominently on Flipboard app...picture and all...worldwide exposure. Also, without googling it, anyone familiar with what a Stakhanovite work ethic is? I consider myself pretty learned, but... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/inverness/9964117/Inverness-on-the-brink-of-the-big-time-after-culling-Billy-Big-Times-says-Richie-Foran.html

To state the obvious: looks as though the SFA made a clerical error, which was found out, thus probably a frantic 2 hours work done by some lawyer and lackys to find a way out, (which the English FA rules and the coincidental fact that Wilson wasnt picked in his first game has allowed) and thus the SFA tweets it to nip it in the bud and appear all cool. Hearts weren't to know so can't be blamed. ICT probably don't want to pursue it as it would involve lengthy and costly legal action with the English FA, Liverpool, SFA, Hearts all involved. It would be a phyrric victory. But the SFA haven't fooled anyone.
  13. I think this will galvanise the players and let them know that ICT is very much on the radar and is more of a pull than some say. They know now they, along with TB, are in the shop window. Success brings such "rewards". 2nd is on!
  14. They were in administration in 2002 and only stayed in the championship because of Portsmouth's debacle. 4 pts off safety, v. short time to get new players in, and O'Driscoll obviously wanted to see if they were realistic candidates for the Premier - they're not. Why do all that upheaval for something that might be lucrative short-term but stressful and short-lived?? The board have given permission - as a courtesy. It's prob in TB's contract. If it was a promotion chasing team, I'd be concerned. It's not.
  15. Dean Shiels talking about his dad, Killie boss, Kenny Shiels: "It's disappointing how he is being treated at the moment but that's the way he is," said Shiels. "He's been portrayed by the media in a certain way that's completely untrue." His interview with the BBC last Wednesday (just under a minute) doesn't help Deano's case much. A wee review 02 Jan: Complains about questions and leaves during a BBC radio interview 01 Jan 2013: Kenny's New Year wish is for "impartiaility" and SPL to "do away" with 4th officials 29 Dec: No sympathy for Motherwell as Kilmarnock have "lost more players than any club in the last two years" 14 Dec Accuses 4th official Andrew Dallas of "outrageous fabrication" regarding 24 Nov 13 Dec: SFA gives 5 match ban (2 suspended) Kenny Shiels calls it "morally wrong" to BBC' 21 Dec: States that Kilmarnock have been 2012 best achievers 24 Nov: Sent to the stands v St Johnstone 09 Nov: Officially reports Euan Norris for being "sarcastic" after 03 Nov ICT game. Criticised by referee chief in Daily Record 26 Jun: States that Kilmarnock will be the worst affected by Gers collapse 19 Jun 2012 : Complains about unfairness in travelling to Dingwall and Inverness 09 Sep: Calls Northern Irish manager "not a football man" 12 May 2011: Says Scotland is worse than Belfast for sectarianism
  16. "Granted I missed out on David Proctor"
  17. Forgot about Broonie. That makes 3. I guess it's aimed at the mainstream viewer but Terry Butcher is a lot more famous in general than the others, especially Danny lennon.
  18. I really enjoyed this year's show - it's not going to win any baftas but it's decent craic. Was hoping Terry would pop up on it. Wasn't many other SPL managers either. Danny Lennon, Neil Lennon, and that's it. Derek Adams is already a parody of himself but I thought OAE should do more SPL managers.
  19. I was 14 years old when CT were voted in to the league. I was a shirt-wearing Aberdeen fan at the time. I'd watch Caledonian in pre-season friendlies when school was off. Went to the autograph signings, supporters bus, member of the junior supporters club, even wrote a letter to Ian Porterfield at about 7 years old. That was that. Took a while, like coming off heroin. These refuseniks are by and large OF fans who were caught out by CTs formation and couldn't kick the habit. They are questionable Highlanders
  20. Bee Rill Yant
  21. From BBC website Kenny Shiels, Kilmarnock: What we've achieved in 2012 has far surpassed what any other club in Scotland have achieved," "Under the circumstances, way, way far ahead of any other club. It's immense what we achieved, absolutely immense." Derek and Kenny. Separated at birth?
  22. Just watched it. Cringed through it. Stroppy Derek goes ballistic, Terry is magnanimous.
  23. McKay has been given free range by the butcher.

Terry Butcher will be Headhunted from the Daily Record and Sunday Mail Good article Mahonio Burley talks about experience being a great asset, and without meaning to be harsh, I was just thinking that with Mark McGhee being sacked, and George Burley off the boil, experience isn't everything. TB has been able to bring in almost every player in the squad. How important is that? Depends on the situation but perhaps TB is an acquired taste for certain players, and that's what has been his achilles heel at other places...just imo. Why would TB want to leave, unless it's for a plum premiership job.
  25. If I was at the helm I would promote high school football. I'm sure if, for example, Charleston Academy was in the regional final against Alness there would be a bit of a turn out, and similarly in the quarter-final if Charleston played St.Aloysius in a two-leg affair that would generate some fans. Both schools would go plus parents, relatives, well-wishers etc. It would bring benefits to both the school, the students, and football as a whole. The final would be televised and played at Hampden, etc. From there, I'd like to see a high-school draft as in US sport. It is exciting, glamorous, fair, and would bring some sort of balance to the disparate population. Scotland has a unique geographical identity, and in this way, teams could get a fair crack of the whip. (It would only really apply to SPL teams as you couldn't have a starlet training in mud with East Stirling.) Three year contracts. After two years the players would be able to re-sign on their terms, or transfer at a price set by a SFA tribunal. The money from this 2nd year transfer would be shared between the school football system, the SFA and the club. Maybe an Engish club would pay 2m for the player? The school football system could get 25% towards their football program, the SFA 25% and the club and player 25% each. I think this would raise the profile of youth football, help schools raise money and give their students a real goal, and inject some life into the game. The measures mooted by the governing bodies are as dry as toast. Why not open it up, create something new, and go for broke. Need some major changes over and above extra/fewer teams.
