To be fair to the club they would have been hammered by some if the did not pass on the VAT saving to the fans, I think it was the correct choice.
  2. Just a wee concern - are you inferring that we will have a financial problem IF Niculae is due money? On your point 2 - There will be more teams than us succumbing to Falkirk before this season is over IMO. On Point 3 - There is not a team from Celtic down who do not have a manager that 'many people would take delight in seeing sacked' Only last week it was public knowledge that creditors, including the Revenue, were chasing Livi, with a time limit being imposed and this was PRE Flynn's claim. How can you suggest we are in this position or even close to it?? I think that due to many factors including the present financial downturn, our crowds seem to be on the downturn ,along with the fact that our accounts last year were worse than previous years I dont think any club can take it that everything is rosy on the financial side although I think we are in a better position than some. For this reason I wouldnt gloat at others misfortune as you never know what is around the corner.
  3. I think that most would be happy with the commitment that was shown by the team on saturday, it has been pointed out that there was no fight in the team this year and the tactics were wrong, although I wasnt there on sat these two things were both apparently right. Yes we are struggling up front and I dont see an easy answer to that problem. bear in mind that last season the club took in Marius, very experinced, he played in the Euros and he struggled to get into double figures.
  4. I have to agree IN PART, the board WILL have realised their mistake by now, BLACKIE< COWIE ....WILL....go in January and NOT at the end of the season, prospective clubs WILL put their offers in to take them away in January, and because we have F***** up YET again (Bennet), we will have to sell for a fraction of their worth, so where does this leave us then, dont tell me, I already know,oh and if it is not the DOF's fault then who's is it, he deals with the contracts, and if his strings are being pulled or reigned in, then dont we have a right to know.? Gillian I hope you are wrong about them both going in Jan, but I have a horrible feeling you may be right , if this does happen it will be a disaster for the club, losing our 2 biggest assest for next to nothing
  5. Gringo spot on, I have my fears that if we get it wrong it could be oh so wrong , but if we get amongst them could well come away with at least a point. Big day for Black, Cowie and Imrie against a midfield of Celtic that are looking solid this year, if we lose that midfield battle it will be a big problem for us
  6. Different question I was responding to the statement that he MUST become a coach at ICT. Do I think he deserves a new contract for 5 months? Probably Do I think he'll get one? Unlikely I think the wages will be released to attempt to bring in a similar/younger version or maybe go towards other areas in the team, Only MY opinion now, not those that have primed me to say so Ralph not getting personal here but where do you think we can find another barry overnight, perhaps your belief in our scouting system is better than mine
  7. sorry mftj couldnt find a hug will that do?? we are talking about a legend here and why hasnt he been a coach through no fault of his own I am sure, who would you rather as a coach shearer or wilson, aside from that he has still got a lot to offer as a player IMHO
  8. Ralph ok make youself clear you dont think barry deserves an new 5 month contract
  9. mftj everyone is entitled to their opinion but I will not slag barry for not been a coach at this stage in his career
  10. Don't you think if he MUST become a Coach he would have become one by now? Ralph even if you are been primed by those at the top they should have told you he is only 36 years old Whats his age got to do with it? If you cant see what age has to do with been a coach enough said, maybe you havent been primed enough to understand that Don't make ridiculous assumptions on being primed you pap, you're way off the mark. If he was good enough or thought of as a future coach he might have been considered by now thats all I'm saying. After all Alec Cleland is coaching the under 19's is he not !! Ralph no need to get personall I have not abused you, maybe I have hit a nerve

  12. Sorry Bingo but I've checked all the Uefa and Fa websites and don't see Danny Mc, JR or CC Are you sure about your facts? There is a list of all who qualified in 2004 and D Mc and JR aint in it OK so well shall all agree Brew for Euro manager of the year
  13. Don't you think if he MUST become a Coach he would have become one by now? Ralph even if you are been primed by those at the top they should have told you he is only 36 years old
  14. ok mftj cant disagree with that
  15. Ok not pointing the finger at anyone but is this not a historical problem at ICT
  16. I have been waiting all night for your response to this one, it didnt dissapoint :D
  17. :thumb04: Legends dont come along every day lets hope we treat this one correctly
  18. Cheers Andy, I know your part of the world very well having worked in Morecambe for a number of years although I actually lived in Carnforth
  19. Totally agree that most want to keep Barry and I hope the club do just that, however wouldnt say that it is almost as important as keeping Black and Cowie as those 2 are probably our biggest assests, losing one at Xmas would be bad, losing them both could be a disaster not only for this season but for the long term future of the club
  20. quite possibly Alex but do you not think that Black etc should have been spoken to long before the credit crunch was even on the horizion.
  21. He has been a good signing, I think he still needs to work a bit on his final ball but has the makings of a very good ICT player
  22. Yes def looked onside
  23. Yes ralph I realise that what I was trying to say the team are not so much under pressure for results at home but more the performance, I would hazzard a guess that most ICT fans would take an attacking team performance at home even if we dropped some points at home rather than what has been seen so far this season
  24. Thank the lord, the first time someone has mentioned that he has the club at heart except me Pele, your spot on he has. Won't be easy to convince others though Ralph I am not sure so many other were concerned he has the club at his heart as after all he had Dundee United at his heart and history will tell what happened there, I do think brew is a decent guy but this is a entertainment business, and talking about heart, nobody had the club more to his heart that CC but that means nothing obviously, get the team playing attractive football with a bit of passion, and wherever his heart is the fans will support him end off Stevico1, United was a different animal mate, won't go into that but its in the past ! It's a forward looking business and if players were available on a different budget to what ICT have, then teams might well go down the A9 with the tail between their legs, but as Drochit Blue says its much easier to do it the other way round as the emphasis is on the home team. The home team never gets the luxury of sitting back from a home support (quite rightly) its just a fact ! Mantis, maybe your right but I'm delighted you've come away feeling what you did today because thats what its all about :thumb04: :018: Ralph Yes I agree football is a forward looking business, I am just a touch worried we are going backwards, Come on Ralph we are not playing in front of 40,000 plus crowds at home, a wee touch of the passion we are used to over the years and we would keep most of the fans happy you have to admit its not quite been right recently
