PIPE BAND MISSING
3 of my friends are in a Pipe band and they said to me that they were approached to play at tomorrows game and the Dons game in 2 weeks.

who would replace them?
I think agents could be the doing of this. Grant Munro signed his new deal pritty swiftly and i know he is captain and an Inverness lad etc, but he dosen't have an agent. Its annoying knowing that this could all have potentially been sorted months ago, Black especially and i certainly would have given Barry a 1 year deal rather than some poxy 6 month contract leaving him in the limbo until January. Cowie perhaps not because he was offered a new deal quickly but that was his decision. Despite Bennett saying he is confident we will stay i really don't his words reassuring.

Home Form
Lack of atmosphere i think is down to lack of good football at home atm. I can't remember the last time i saw a Caley player perform a good piece of trickery or a set of players produce a good move and the constant tinkering of the team is just ridiculous. We have no depth atm so Brewster just needs to live with it. Also when a team creates good goal scoring chances at home that is what gathers momentum within the crowd, some games this year we've never got a shot on target. The players and manager are urging us to get atmosphere going around the ground but its very hard to do that when we have so little to shout about.

Team for Dundee United
-------------Esson-------------- Proctor, Munro, Duff, Hastings Wilson, Cowie, Black, Vigurs --------------Imrie------------ -----------Barrowman------- subs: Fraser, Djebi-Zadi, McGuire(if fit), Zander, McBain, Rooney, Wood

The best Caley Squad
Brown Tokely, Mann, Teasdale, Hastings Wilson, Sheerin, Christie, Robson Wyness, Stewart subs. Calder Dods, McCarthur Cherry, Black Xausa, Ritchie Chose Hastings ahead of McCarthur because otherwise we would have had the slowest back four ever.

Some praise for a change
Its strange because this formation with 5 man midfield and Wood as a lone striker works very well away from home as we have won our last 2 away games with it. But it was so terrible at home to Falkirk it was changed at half-time and not used in the following home game (no joy came from that either mind you)

Let's all laugh at Livvy
Its ashame to see any club suffer financially...even if they are old foes. We could easily be in there position but i think our board have possibly been slightly wiser in how they've handled the club financially. It is strange though as Livi started there season so well but appear to have taken a massive dip in form. same for the likes of Queen of the South, they were on a roll at one point.

Scottish Cup 4th round draw
Would love to see us get County so we can play them in a game that actually means something or Elgin would be good fun and we will get to see Liam Keogh play as well.

Richard Hastings Testimonial Year
Would Grant Munros testimonial year not be coming up now as well?

Qualified success for Brewster
Good for Brew. Now it's time to show it on the pitch regularly.

WILSON MUST STAY!
I'm yet to hear someone say they don't want Barry to stay. Even at 36 the man is an asset to the club. Dosen't play regularly but whenever he does you are garunteed to get something out of him. If i had my way he would still be playing in the starting 11. He is almost as important to keep as Black and Cowie imo.

You are my Imrie... my Dougie Imrie
I think Imrie has the clear potential to be a top player but he is terribly inconsistent. He has shown clear signs of what he can produce on a good day, free kicks, good crossing and a never say die attitude. I also like it when he plays up front with Barrowman, i think those 2 have a good understanding. He does have his flaws though, such as his decision making and he can also be very greedy with the ball. But the more he plays i think the better he can get.

Experienced forward required in January
I agree that Keigan Parker would be a good addition to our squad. He is the sort of player we need up front, bit of speed and movement and he also hits a ferocious shot. Wouldn't mind seeing him in a Caley shirt come January.

Ritchie Bryne
He isn't very good but i will be honest i would rather see him than Djebi-Zadi competing with Hastings. I would be suprised if we didn't get him. By training with us its rather clear he wants back to Scotland and the fact he is one of Brews old chums from the Fife area means its likely he will become a first team regular. I disagree with those who say Barrowmans a poor signing. The guy has not had a consistent run of games nor has he got the appropriate strike-partner up front with him. When we played Killie a month ago he was paired with Imrie and the 2 of them played a blinder of a game up front and if you recall Imrie got man of the match and Barrowman scored a pen that day, making it himself. Since then those 2 have never been paired together. He scored goals at County because he had a creative forward up with him in Sean Higgins. So i think the idea of Imrie, Barrowman up front should be used in order to get the best out of both players.

Contracts (Merged)
I have a funny feeling we will keep Black. I think the most likely time too loose him has past from 2 years ago when Brewster tryed to poach him to the Arabs. Black has been at the club for nearly 5 years now and as far as i know he is very settled in the Inverness area and is clearly playing his best football. I doubt he wants to jeopardise that. Perhaps the club are trying to keep conract talks as private as possible after what happened with Dods, Brown and Dargo. In terms of Cowie well who knows. He is an Inverness lad who obviously has so much still to offer the club. I would be very dissapointed to see him leave but after he stalled the offer in the summer after stating he wanted to extend his contract i'am not so sure. I think it may all boil down to what the club have to offer and what his family want to do. As far as i remember Fraser, Cowie, Black, Proctor, McBain, Vigurs, Wood, Zander and Djebi-Zadi all have expiring contracts come the summer with Barrys expiring in January.

Instilling or destroying confidence?
I would expect it as i have never seen Garry Wood take a convincing first touch...ever. Young players sometimes need a bit of tough love from managers. I can only assume thats what Brew was intending out there on the touchline. I can understand his frustration at Barrowman. He faded from the game so badly in the second half and it got worse as the game went on. So you can understand Brews problems. Managers aren't there to be teamates, they are there to be managers and when players don't do the right thing it will anger them at times. On the other hand you could blame Brew for not beefing up the strike-force with some experience during the summer, something which has evidently shown as this season has worn on. Both Rooney and Barrowman lacked any real intrest in the game on Saturday IMO. And the fact that Garry Wood was the only real forward we could turn to in an attempt to change the game suggests re-inforcments are required in January(said not for the first time).

Why cant he do it in the first team?
I would say give McAllister a place in the team for Garry Wood who for me really has made little impact in the team. Scored against Celtic and played ok against Hibs but thats it. Rory played well when i saw him play against the Celtic reserves a month ago and a double against the gers, added to his pre-season performance suggest he deserves a shout. Zander has been on the bench the last couple of games and i can only think Brew will give him a shout somewhere along the line should he continue to be there. We've seen patches of what he is capable of before and he would be a different kind of winger to that of Imrie and Cowie and opposition defences won't really know what to expect of him so i say give a sub appearence in the next game, we all know he has the capability.

Duff V Proctor V McGuire
I was looking at the team photo and McGuire is a few inches taller than Hastings who is about 6' 0" so that must make McGuire about 6' 1" And according to FIFAs description Proctor is 6' 0" and wieghs 69 kg.

who's our best midfield duo
Seen Cowie play in the holding role so i would play him and Black in the middle. Duncans a waste of space imo, inaccurate passes, untidy touches etc. And i think Vigurs is better out wide.
- Rooney
-
Bazza Wilson
We lack experience in the starting 11 mostly full stop. I remember seeing Cowie play in the holding midfield row on a couple of occasions so maybe play him there and put Barry on the right Wilson, Cowie, Black, Imrie I think that is the best midfield we could play. I agree with those saying Barry could last the 90 minutes but we do have good options in Vigurs and Zander to call upon if required.

Experienced forward required in January
Richie was a very usefull sub to bring on and change a game , to say he was never good enough is complete tosh. I agree. If Bayne was never good enough he wouldn't have got supporters player of the year in 2006/07 and if Hart was the same he would never have lasted 6 years at Caley Thistle. Both were 2 players who unfortunately never quite did as well as they were certainly capable of. If i had my way both would still be here. Also i noticed Patrick Kluiverts available on a free

Brewster is the man for the job
I appreciate what Robbo did during his time at ICT but i really think we could use someone new, someone who has never been associated with us before that has fresh ideas. Should have done it a year ago and we should do it now. I think had Brew never left things would have been alot different and if not better but the fact is he returned with a divide of people wanting him back and those who didn't. I have too say i really didn't want him back but in fairness when he did return results improved and so did we. But a year ago he had a better and bigger squad to choose from which to be perfectly honest he has let go to the dogs, he let too many good players leave throughout the course of last year that he has never properly replaced. A year on i see our squad as nothing more than inexpreienced, badly complacent and only producing glimpses of what it's really capable of. Alot of that is purely down to Brews choices (partly due to lack of funding) but mainly decision making of the team. His constant formation tinkering has done nothing more than cost us valuable points at times. And his lucky dip idea for players positions certainly hasn't got the best out of them. As long as Brewster is in charge he has my full respect and i only hope he can eventually turn things around but in all honesty i really don't think he will.
