  1. Nothing wrong with Brian Kerr, he has settled in well in the midfield since signing for us. Vigurs would make absolutely no difference in the middle either. He is far more effective on the left wing. Foran should move up front and Vigurs should move to the left. I also agree with mann4thejob. Lionel made some vital blocks on Saturday which kept us in the game that neither Hastings or certainly McBain would have got.
  2. It's the fact that he looks at him before doing it that bothers me. He takes a quick look at the boy then shoves his elbow into his chest and it would take alot of impact to make cough up your own blood. Very much deliberate imo.
  3. Was he not a regular in the squad under Vogts? And big deal if he outplays Barr and Pressley, Pressleys done and Barr shouldn't be in the national team either.
  4. Mackie would be a great signing. But if he is anything like when he came on loan here a few seasons back then forget it.

    Dougie Imrie

He would play well ok up front i think if he had a reliable finisher up top with him. Which is why i think Foran should go up front with him. Apart from Rooney sometimes we have no reliable finishers. A situation that has never been resolved since Craig Dargo left. While Imrie has the energy to run defenders ragged his final ball for almost anything is below average. I think he will remain an inconsistent talent.
  6. lets be real about this ... Its Aberdeen, a perpetual top six team, at their home ground in a very tight game .... no panic in losing this one ... a draw or win would have been nice, but it would have been a bonus !!! Totally agree that a win or draw would have been a bonus but it sounds like the second half performance was a shocker and that is a worry Thats the angle i was coming from Scotty, not that it was specifically Aberdeen but that we haven't scored in our last 2 away games, haven't looked like scoring and our opponents have outplayed us. That is a cause for concern for me.
  7. Looks like Away games are proving to be a downfall for results again.
  8. Can only assume Black is either injured or we are going defensive if Duncan is coming on.
  9. 0-0 ht, not so bad.
  10. John Sutton just pulled a goal back for the well.
  11. Kerr is much more competent than Duncan and his passing ability is much better. Wouldn't be suprised if Duncan's benched till the end of the season. Wouldn't mind either. Be ashame to see the Royster go.
  12. An unchanged side. Very sensible in my opinion.

So let me get this right, your saying that Foran is a technically sound player? have you watched him pass a ball or even look up when he goes to pass, on saturday all he did was pass without looking up and most of the time it went straight to the opposition. These sort of players don't last, hence, every club he's played for has ditched him. Does that not tell you something no? ICT aren't going to stay up for long if they keep signing poor players. Kerr on the other hand is technically a good player, however, he didn't do enough for me on saturday...poor blackie was knackered at the end of the game because he was doing all the running and looking for the ball all the time...Kerr wasn't doing this. Granted his pass to Morais was good but we were lucky we were playing st mirren and not a better team on saturday. If he is the one to replace blackie then I hope he raises his work rate double fold otherwise we are going to be left wanting in midfield next season especially if we stay up. As for vigurs he was our best player along with black before butcher came in, he's a brilliant young talent. If he was played every week he would undoubtedly be our best midfielder. If you can't see that then you clearly aren't very good at picking out a good player.... We can't rely on duds from other clubs to do a job for us, if they (Foran) can't do it for those clubs they ain't going to do ot anywhere else. Wishful thinking my friend. People are so quick to give praise when things are going their way, however, actually taking the time to analyse a player is different from just watching a team winning/losing/drawing a game. I think it is you who needs to come back to our planet soon. Like all fans we have opinions, some are proved right, some wrong. However, Vigurs has the potential to be a very good footballer but in a few games this season, when the going got tough he disappeared. At this moment in time, we have to battle for every point and I don't honestly think Vigurs adds anything in that department yet. Foran probably had his worst game since joining us but he has provided an aerial and goal scoring threat (at least he knows how to jump for a ball unlike Mr Barrowman). He is also very streetwise which many of our team are not. I thought Kerr had a quiet but effective game. Without doubt he is still finding his fitness and I think he will improve the more games he gets. The simple aim for this season is to stay in the SPL and being brutal, I don't care how we do it as long as we do. This is a time for experience but hopefully Vigurs will get his chance in the SPL next season when the style of football played will hopefully change. Kind of hard to think that with Vigurs contract expiring in the summer, along with about half the 1st team squad.
  14. I wonder if Calum Elliot's reading this topic...
  15. And Barrowman scored 29 last season True but that was division 2, I reckon the Welsh Premier League is probably about Scottish Division 1 standard. The only decent welsh teams are Swansea and Cardiff and they don't even play in the welsh leagues. None of the players in the welsh league even make the national team.
  16. Good for him if he goes. I still think he could do a good job at this level and after watching him against Dundee a fortnight ago i remain convinced at that. The drugs thing rather ruined his chances of a regular career here but i do feel we miss his ability in midfield.

    Don Cowie

Is he worth a Scotland shout Nak?? Btw how did that lad miss that shot in the last minute last night??
  18. Stokes has really lost his sharpness in the last year or so. Wonder if he would benefit from some SPL footy again. It was courtesy of one of Munro's "hoofs" that we got our equaliser on Saturday. Dods isn't getting a game at United atm so he may be a decent signing as well.
  19. I'm hoping Hibs finish in the bottom six as we will have more chance of beating them than we would Motherwell. Season statistics speak for themselves there.
  20. I can only recall McGuire having one half decent game. Against Killie in October, when he scored. He was relatively solid that day. But even then we went 1-0 down to a set of defensive howlers. McGuire is decent back-up behind Jamie Duff, end of. And he is injured atm. Thats why he isn't playing at all.
  21. Saw it too. Really poor challenge from Carsley and Iwelumo going off really resulted in Wolves loosing there bite up front. Christophe Berra looks a shadow of the player he once was at Hearts. Very hesitant with decisions and made a hurrendous error towards Birmingham's second goal.
  22. Tbh i really wouldn't lose much sleep if Imrie left. The only player leaving potentially that would bother me would me Mihadjuks. If were dipping into the lower leagues then i would love to see us sign Mikael Antoine-Curier at Dundee. I've watched him play once or twice this season and he has been really impressive. And he's big. We need a big striker.
  23. Mehdi Taouil and Willie Gibson from Kilmarnock if they go down. Steve Lovell from Falkirk if they go down. A back up keeper for when Fraser goes. Mihadjuks, Kerr, Foran and Morais on long term deals.

  25. I certainly hope thats the case when we play them in 2 weeks. The Aberdeen game next week will be tough but i really think we need to win against Hamilton before the split and especially considering that they haven't scored in 5 games this is the best chance we will get. If we win that then i think that will set us in great stride after the split.
