This is the first time I have gone though all this topic. I don't know Mr Bannerman, or how exactly he is really perceived by other posters, and I only know OF him through other topics to which he has posted. BUT. Just from his posts here it seems to me that he sees himself as some sort of intellectual superior to the "rest" of you. And I think not ! Of course, I "may/might" be completely wrong about this, but since I will not be posting again to this subject I really don't care if this post is deleted by Scotty or any other moderator. I imagine that Mr Bannerman will read this - in which case, please, sir, tone down your pontificating a wee bit, otherwise folk will become bored with anything that you post !

I always thought that "Rodwill Clyne" spelt his first name RODWELL (he worked in the Milk Marketing Board with my mother, Violet Watt) ! As for good old Peter Home - he was just starting in the Famous Fourth when I was marker in the drill team that won that comp easily (and also in the same year won the PT comp in the old Empire Theatre and the First Aid one) !!! Being in that drill squad made it very easy for me when I did my National Service - especially when compared with other fellows out of the slums of Glasgow, Birmingham, London and elswhere !!!!!!!!!! The 4th also had a wonderful "club house" in Falcon Square behind the Railway with never ending games of Monopoly, table tennis and snooker, and a pot-bellied stove. All organised by Captain Willie MacLeod.

Why does it seem to be a frequent occurence that when we play against a side that almost everyone thinks should be an easy three points gained, we not only lose but get a thrashing! Like our most recent game! Who now expects us to win our 5th round Scottish Cup game against Partick? It does our goal average no good at all to go down 4-0. After all, we are supposed to be a professional side who can do well against any of the top teams, but poorly against teams who are thought to be inferior ! There's got to be an answer, surely?????????
