  1. I wouldn't really want Robbo back either, was good at the time but hasn't had much success since.
  2. I would personally go for : -------------Esson--------------- Proctor--Duff--Munro--Hastings Cowie--Duncan--Black--Imrie ---------Rooney--Wood--------- I think Brewster will go for : -------------Esson---------------- Duff--Proctor--Munro--Hastings ------------Vigurs---------------- Imrie--Black--Duncan--Cowie -------------Wood--------------- Then again, who knows he may go for : ------------Wood------------------ Vigurs--Black--Imrie--Cowie Hastings--Duff--Proctor--Duncan -------Munro--Esson----------- After all that would give us a big guy in goal, 2 big target men up front who we could just punt the ball up to. Who needs height at the centre of defence? not us "we'll make up for the lack of height with our pace"! 2 holding midfielders in the middle, sounds like the ideal team, as Brewster has said when quizzed about his formations " A good player can play anywhere". To be serious though I know Brewster would never pick this team - he would never start with 2 up away from home
  3. I was actually thinking of mentioning Ian McCall as well but thought I would get slated. He is doing well with Partick, did extremely well with Falkirk, QoS and Airdrie and although he wasn't brilliant at DU his record was much, much, much better than Brewsters and we still gave him the job. McCall averaged over 1 point per game as DU manager, whereas Brewster averaged less than 0.5 points per game I think McCall can be a bit of a niaff (sp) but if he got the results and got us playing more entertaining football who cares. Not saying he is definitely THE man for the job, but I would be happy to bet he would be much better than Brewster.
  4. Really like Wilson, he has been a great player for us and personally I would wany to keep him until the end of the season at least. From his point of view at least he should get 1st team football now wherever he goes, as I don't think Brewster would play him much even if he was to stay. If you are to go Barry - Best of luck for the future, you are a true ICT legend !!
  5. Have to agree as well. We should be having a go at teams at home. The Hamilton and Falkirk games for example we seemed only content with stopping the opposition scoring, rather than scoring ourselves. When Pele was manager the games used to be great, we won some we lost some but it was always exciting and there was always goals eg ICT 4- Ayr 3. I think if this team was 0-3 at half-time Brew would put on another defender and go for damage limitation whereas Pele would put on 2 forwards. If you go with at least 2 upfront and 'have a go' fans will be more forgiving even when we lose, it is the negative, boring football which is turning a lot of fans away (me included). The last game I was at was the Falkirk game on a wednesday night. The 1st half was awful and it was a blessing that Falkirk scored because it meant we had to push forward at bit more. The way we started that game was an absolute disgraise, 1 up front everbody else behind the ball and everyone back for corners. I hate Coronation Street but after that performance it was starting to look more and more appealing.
  6. I would like to see someone completely new in charge of the club with a proven track record as a manager, not a player/manager, not a 'young ambitous manager' and not an ex-player just because we liked him or he played well for us. I know this may be difficult to find, but I would be happy to search down a league or two as this is what always used to happen - managers had to start at the bottom and work their way up. Unlike Brewster or Charlie for that matter who were immediately given a SPL job.I think a manager should earn that right by his track record not just handed to him on a plate.
  7. "We're only 4 points off the top 6" More importantly how many points are we off being relegated?
  8. I'm Anti-Brewster, I'm Pro-ICT I think that is a very important point. I don't think many people would say that Brewster wasn't a great player and this helped him/us a lot in his first spell in manangement
  9. Unsurprisingly I voted YES he should go
  10. Couldn't agree more Kencar !! How many guys could you play out of position in one game. I honestly believe we HAVE good players, they are just played out of position.
  11. Just another example of Brewsters tactical ineptitude. As we ALL know Proctor is a right back who has been unlucky that we have Tokely at the club who has owned that position for the last 8 years or so. Proctor is a make-shift centre back and can play in a few positions but his best is undoubtably right back whereas Duff is a ready made centre half. Proctor has pace and should have been up against Conway who is one of DU best players Brewster did not want to shift his 'favourite' Proctor because if Duff plays a blinder at centre half then when Tokely comes back, who does he drop. IMHO Duff should be playing along side Munro anyway as Proctor is too small and lightweight as he showed when he played against Higdon for Falkirk. This is the guy who plays one up front at home against the mighty Hamilton, Falkirk etc etc , has played McBain right midfield, Duff at full back, Cowie and Imrie on the wrong sides of the pitch. In short I really believe he doesn't know what he is doing! Ask ANY Dundee Utd fan what they think of his Management credentials!! And we're considering giving him a new contract :thumb04: if it wasn't so serious it would be funny Eh??? I assume he meant right back and not centre back - easy to do
  12. Another great home result today. If the board are reading this - Please get Brewster signed up on a long term deal before one of the big clubs steal him from us. Lets not forget Man Utd will be looking to replace Sir Alex soon and they couldn't get a more tactically aware manager than our very own Brew. Worse still we might also lose Malky and the 12 fitness coaches. Okay, we may get a few million for them all, but that would be little consolation for such a quality coaching staff. All I want for Christmas is a new long term deal for Brewster, oh yeh and World peace as well Do I need to use the tongue in cheek icon ........ nah, don't think so
  13. :o That must be a 1st :thumb04:
  14. Esson Proctor,Duff,Munro,Hastings Cowie,Duncan,Black,Imrie Barrowman,Rooney Subs:Fraser,Wilson,Wood,Vigurs,McBain
  15. I can see the logic in not getting rid of Brewster at the moment - as we can't afford to. But IMHO it is crazy to think of extending his current contract Read in the paper this week that in the whole of 2008 there is only 1 team currently in the SPL that we have beat at home, yes just 1 in a whole 12 months. It sounds unbelievably terrible, but is true, the only other team we have beat in that time in the league at home was Gretna and of course they got relegated. Is that kind of stat worthy of a new contract? I think not!!
  16. --------------Calder----------------- Tokely--Mann--McArthur--Golabek Wilson--Cherry---Cowie--Robson ---------Ritchie--Wyness--------- Subs: Brown, Bingham, Brewster, Christie, Dods, Hart Manager : Paterson BTW (imho) Worst Players: Fridge, Walker, Daisy, Hastings, McCallister, Thompson, Patty, Di Barros, Shearer Manager : Brewster
  17. That's brilliant news about Brewster passing his Uefa coaching Hopefully Ionikas are looking for a new manager! Or any other team in Greece. Or ANY team in Europe for that matter!
  18. .................Esson.................... Tokely...Duff...Munro...Hastings ................Duncan................... Wilson....Black....Cowie....Imrie ................Wood.....................
  19. .................Esson.................... Proctor...Duff...Munro...Hastings ................Duncan................... Cowie....Black....Vigurs....Imrie ................Wood.....................
  20. Unfortunately I agree with you Pele_Is_God
  21. I don't think that going back in for Robbo would be a good idea, I would prefer someone completely new.
  22. I do not believe that Brewster is the man for the job, or any management job for that matter as I really don't think the guy has a clue what he is doing. His formation on Wednesday against Falkirk was awful - 1 up front with Imrie on the right and Cowie on the left !?!?! I would also like to see Duff play instead of Proctor and how did Hastings keep his place for Saturday after Wednesdays performance ?? Remember this is the guy that played McBain on the right of midfield against Rangers so Patty could play on the left !?! I really do despair at some of his decisions/tactics, he maybe a gentleman as the 1st poster suggests but he is not a good manager Just ask the the DU fans what they think of his management skills. In short - Brew hasn't a clue !!!!!! TBH I can't see me back too often until Brewster goes
  23. The boards worst ever decision was taking Brewster back for a second spell as manager. I for one was DELIGHTED when Utd bought him and all his backroom staff. We made some great money on the deal, got rid of a **** manager and his ONLY assist to us - his playing ability was coming to an end. The only thing I was frightened of was him poaching our best players - in the end he took one reserve team player and we got another ?30,000, bonus!! I think my signature sums up my feeling for Brewster - Great player, **** manager. I don't think he will walk, but can we afford to sack him and get someone else in? I doubt it !
  24. Thanks for the helpful reply Scotty! I did think that Niculae scored 10 and not 8. So I wasn't being lazy Alex Macleod you cheeky barsteward
  25. Yeh, you looked on wikipeadia as well did u (it isn't always 100% reliable though) I thought sure though that Niculae made it into double figures for us (thought he got 10 exactly), does this stat take into account cup games/goals. Also surprised how few goals Bayne scored
